    GoT:
Normally GoT seasons have finished strong and the last two episodes have a lot of momentum after ep 8. Epic stuff with the White Walkers. Since they gain a soldier per kill it just shows, like Melisandre said last season, how meaningless the other wars/infighting is.

Think that might have been my favourite episode of the show so far, full stop. The realisation for Jon (and the viewer I guess) that
the defining battles for Westeros are going to be between men and the White Walkers rather than just whichever kingdom (or Dany) wins out in the end.
    Really brilliant stuff.

Also visually the episode was just spectacular. The production quality is second to none.

You should probably hide comments behind spoilers, just in case!

I wouldn't consider that a spoiler, it's speculation as it hasn't happened yet (and won't for a while if it does at all), but will do anyway.

So are White Walkers vulnerable to valarian steel as well? That's new, no?

    My tattoo addiction on ch4...

A lad who is covered in Miles Cyrus tattoos is slightly weird!! Then the plonker who is covered in swear words - including a website for a boat party on his chest and the words "Martin is a c*nt" on his shoulder.

    Anyone here into body art?

Not really a book spoiler, and it's pretty much been shown in the show tonight, but I got it from the book so you've been warned
At the start of the 4th book Jon gets Sam to do a load of research on the Walkers and it talks about how dragon glass kills them but there is also mentions of how fire steel, or something along those lines, is thought to stop them. They figure that this "fire steel" is probably valarian steel which after tonight's episode I think we can say was a safe bet

I'm a little disappointed to be honest.
I liked it when the show centred around the iron throne and most of the enjoyment I got out of it was trying to predict which person/family would ultimately win. Now it feels like the show is all about man vs. some sort of alien evil. It feels like it's quickly advancing towards an all too predictable ending. I'm guessing they all find a way to see past their differences and men and dragons unite to kill the frosty people.

    I hate rugby.

I've been given plenty bans and warnings in forums I actually like posting in. It would be really great if I knew enough about rugby to be controversial and banned from here. Would it be enough to say that Brian O'Driscoll is a bumbling man-child of a bully? Or that George Hook is a cantankerous, convalescent tool who is given far too much of a forum?

The off-topic thread probably isn't the place for this, ironically.
