Rage is talking up how many awesome special editions they have in store and also mentioned they've had the PAL earthbound SE come through the doors.... I'd like to tell then they were had but I'm banned!

Have they since deleted it? Can't see it, but the comment section must've been fun.

This makes me a little ill to say, but is Streets of Rage any good on the Master System?

From a technical point of view it's impressive

Its quite surreal watching and listening to an 8-bit version of the game when you've only ever played the original!

Would it be an idea to have a bit of a game of a month thing going on where we all have a bash off an old title. Give our thoughts then about it?

Cool side by side videos here:

Never knew there was a Sega CD version! It just has better quality voice samples apparently...

Is that the version that came on the compilation disc?
Never knew there was a difference from the original

Yeah at the start of the video you can see its a compilation disk like a CD version of Megagames or something.

You're probably hearing how the samples originally sounded when they were recorded, as oppose to being degraded on the megadrive.

I'll have to have a proper watch when I get home, I'm out at the moment.
Jesus I'd kill for a fourth installment.
The yakuza engine would well suit a new streets of rage

Throw a thread up there on the topic and set the ball rolling.
It ran for a good while before, was very popular.

They've changed it and gotten rid of PAL. More likely a mistake as I don't think a bootlegger would go so far as to make scratch and sniff card.

I thought it was only released as a big box?
I remember the media at the time, the US magazines carried a scratch'n sniff panel on the printed ads, in EGM and Gamepro.

@re rules apply. I'm not on fb but did they post a pic of the cart? It only ever came in us and jap form, so it's a bizarre mistake to make stating that it's pal.

Just playing some megadrive the last few hours and came upon something slightly peculiar, on my copy of Hard Drivin, it proudly states "made in ireland" on the box, never realised sega games were ever manufactured here, and google isn't throwing up any results.

No picture just bigging up the special editio b 's they had then mentioned they has a special edition of PAL earthbound past through their doors before but it was sold. I'd say it was a simple mistake.

Well Atari manufactured in tipp and Limerick . Tipp made arcade stuff and Limerick as far as I know 2600 and other stuff ,so maybe it ties in between somehow ,with being boxed or something manufactured here ( it was different then so small addition s could would probably allow you say made in wherever . I've never taken notice of any carts" made in" be for tbh .

I think Red Zone has Made In Ireland on the box also.

I know for sure that Saturn games were made in Ireland. The guy I got my copy of Panzer Dragoon Saga from got all his Saturn games from work as he worked in the plant making them.

Any Sega fans should check out a YouTube channel called gamehut. It's a guy that used to work as a programmer for travellers tales during the mega drive and Saturn era. He is putting up videos of graphics demos and prototypes of games as well as explaining how many of the graphical tricks he used worked such as the 3D effect in toy story.
