    didn't like the look of the footpaths, even by afternoon. 5 laps of the local running loop, which is a hardpacked trail, looked safer. legs a bit tired after the earlier 2.5 hour bike

    Stumbled across a 10 mile road race in Ardagh, Co. Longford today. It was a beautiful day, but the roads were very slippery. There was a good turnout for the race with runners from all over the midlands. Enjoyed the race very much but I didn't push the pace, simply because the last 197km / 28 days didn't allow me too.

    The streak continues into Wales and England this week. I'm trying to think of a suitable way to mark day 31. Anyone have any suggestions?

    Nobody has swam in the lake for years and survived. I don't think I will chance it.

    althought it was my suggestion, i'm not going to be doing it(driving requirements NYE). was for worn out as a way of marking the end.

    Thanks for setting this up AKW.

    Personally I got a lot more out of the running streak than I thought I would, having considered it a novelty at first. Some of the runs were a chore, but once out and about that feeling soon disappeared. My legs got stronger, my running times got better, I had better running form- just tonight I put in 5 20 second bursts and I felt like a gazelle. Mentally it was extremely useful too, and gave me some focus during a month of partying, overeating, overdrinking. On the flip side I think my swim form suffered slightly from the increased leg stress, but any time lost there should be more than compensated from faster run times. Onwards and upwards, all the best for 2015 to everyone! :D
