Who in their right mind would buy that?

It would be a nightmare to insure it legitimately I imagine, and the tax is only €80 a year cheaper than an early MK7 GTi was anyway.

Big time also potential minefield of issues with sensors - electronics etc.

True and who's to say where all the donor parts came from? Could be dodgy

I think it looks more like a GTI has been reshelled into a 1.2 body? Probably the cleanest way to do it?

    ...........

Interesting Mk7 for sale, "1.2 on the book"

Reg on display along with the partial insurance disc that suggests it's insured with Aviva. Total loony for advertising it like that. .......... not to mention the numerous potential issues with the "conversion".

Lads, due to potential work relocation I may be shifting my GTI. So if anyone is interested in a low mile tastefully modded (non-ECU) and pampered 5-door manual GTI-P, let me know.

What's the year and spec on it? What kind of mods are on it?

Since we're posting interesting Mk7s, here's one I came across earlier with "Tip-tropic flappy panel shifters"

    R400-2.jpg

Very practical, you could hoover the back seat through the panel gaps.

"Selling due to dont need a car anymore ."

More like it's a heap of rubbish and wants to recover some cash from it.

    Anybody interested in a T Roc R ?
Coming to Ireland at 53750euro. Same engine as golf R but a bit more torque apparently.
If the price is an indicator of things to come, the next Golf R will be 60k!

First thing I seen. ‘Car is one of a kind’ them panel gaps are one of a kind alright :pac:

I dunno, there's not a single piece I can see that's not a GTI piece, even the door inlays and foot plate are present and wired, the dash is done, the binnacle, pedals, wheels, sensors, lights that's an extremely expensive conversion and half the parts won't even work without dealer kit to get them to work with the car.

I'm trying to work out in my head how much a 'conversion' that complete would cost. Astronomical. It must be something else going on.

I suspect the same, surely the cost would be huge. A standard Mk7 isn't bangernomics money not would a donor GTI.

Even the exterior and interior on a standard Golf wouldn't be worth it nevermind drivetrain.

Stolen GTI with 1.2 plates on it?

Whatever it is they aren't the brightest advertising it.

Reminds me when the Subaru wrx was king in the late 90’s and guys buying the 1.6 petrol and replacing the bonnet with the wrx bonnet scoop , the low driving lights in the front bumper , the bucket seats ,momo steering wheel and the gold 17 inch speed lines - unfortunately they could do nothing to hide the rear drum brakes!

That car was never a 1.2 it’s definitely always been a GTI. Its imported so I reckon maybe they either declared it as a 1.2 and got away with it or maybe there was some sort of mix up. Could have been a 1.2 on the uk logbook somehow? I’ve seen it before a car was 2 litre petrol but a 1.6 diesel on the book

That's certainly quite the list of mods alright. It looks the business.

You'll have zero issues selling that I would say. Great spec, if I was looking for a fast golf that ticks all the boxes. Manual PP, with low miles and 4 years old so great value no doubt.

We shall see. I won't be giving it away, so it'll take someone like yourself who knows what they're getting to see the value in it rather than "I can get that other one for 17k on DoneDeal so I'll give you 17k for it". I'm in no rush anyway, so don't have to shift it under pressure. It'll be priced very competitively against the similar examples on DD anyway, considering what comes with it in comparison.

I would love this car. Perfect GTi. A revo map and it's done. I've driven a similar spec car wit the Revo tune and it was awesome.

Personally I think that's a 25k car all day long.

I'd get the other one, it's cheaper and already 17k. :P

Oh Lord not again, didn't we already agree you've to take off 7k for the halogens.

Not an issue as it has xenon's, so maybe add another 7k instead :)
