    From you SparkSpitfire:
when you're online and anonymous behind your computers or your phones, you feel its okay to make these statements
You want me to name and shame people? Why don't you have a look for yourself or maybe just discuss the topic at hand?

The irony, oh the irony. Of course this way you can talk about for as much as you like, as long as you like without having to nail your colours to the post, or to have your opinion tested to see if its true.

By third wave you mean like militant man-haters or? Wikipedia wasn't too helpful on the topic :o

I didn't really want to discuss feminism because there's already a thread on that, but I think it's a good thing, the thoughts that without it I wouldn't be sitting here in uni right now is pretty bleak.

I like this graphic to explain what I mean (yes I know its a bit lazy)

For the record I know its probably 4th wave really now and it certainly has a place in less developed countries, and that stuff like
Steubenville is horrific and does indicate the idea of "rape culture" among a tiny percentage of men, but its not just feminists that condemn stuff like that everybody with an ounce of intelligence does.
    Why?

Why would you say that? I would never have heard of the term mansplaining if people like you didn't spread it around by using it to make fun of the women (with pretty radical views) that do. Why did you bring them into this? Where are these radical feminists? I have honestly never come across a post from one of these "radical feminists" that hasn't been from tumblr or the likes let alone boards.

Mansplaining is a word that I think disrespects men but there you (and people like you) are spreading it around and bringing it into the public sphere. I don't understand it. If these things are so offensive (which I believe they are) you should try and stifle them as much as possible.

Take a look at tLL, and the locked Feminism thread then, reasonable and very polite point by a poster about why mansplaining possibly isn't the best term to use, mocked because its a male poster because he's mansplaining.

You come on here making wild accusations, won't back up your accusations with any examples and have stated that you don't report posts.

It's pretty much like coming in and taking a big sh1t on the forum or starting a thread entitled "Why does boards hate black people" and then not giving any examples.

Sorry milord I'll try to do all your work for you next time I promise you won't have to research anything yourself!

The ongoing Gender War online is depressing as hell. Not the misogyny specifically.

I didn't make the definition up!

But sexual objectification reduces someone from human being to object. So, I suppose the reasoning is that that there's no regard for someone if you're able to objectify them. While you don't have to have hatred for a person you sexually objectify, you don't have to like them either, they're just a sum of parts. I wouldn't be able to tell you for certain though.

I love women but I happily fukc them just for their looks and never see them again. Is that objectification. I generally don't fukc objects so I don't think so.

And do you not think that's horrible to see it being used?

Well yes I think people can come up with a better way of getting their point across than using terms like that.

It's your claim, you've been called out on it by a few posters yet won't give examples. It's up to you to back up your claims. Frankly I don't believe you and think you have some other agenda.

Misogyny (/mɪˈsɒdʒɪni/) is the hatred or dislike of women or girls. Misogyny can be manifested in numerous ways, including sexual discrimination, denigration of women, violence against women, and sexual objectification of women.

So glad I became a misanthrope

Going by the graphic alone, some of the things that the 2nd wave have tried to do still haven't been achieved yet, so there is a place for feminism in our more developed world yet, but it could do with less hate for sure.

I know full well women are capable of hating on men just for being men as the opposite, I've just happened to notice the opposite more (probably because I am female and the comments would get my heckles up).

Is misogyny a new fashionable thing to bitch about? It's like this mam is misogynist, that burger has a taste of misogyny. That cat gave me a very angry misogynistic look...

Honestly, I do not care if you believe me or not, but I'm not gonna traverse through the last few pages of After Hours just to satisfy a few people.

If you don't wanna engage without quotes, that's grand I'm not asking you to.

It's something I've noticed and maybe you haven't, but it doesn't mean it's not there.

I don't feel like I've anything to prove so yous can rail against the lack of proof or not, it makes no odds to me.
