    Doesn't really matter.
The IMF are back in Ireland next week to crack the whip again.
Pro taxers won't tell you that.

Yes, he is an exiled tax billionaire, I'm not going to dispute that for a second. My opinion on that is irrelevant. Clearly the man looks after his interests by whatever ways or means he see's fit, as his his choice. Should this automatically preclude him from owning any interest in Irish media?

I'm guessing your opinion for the other print media in the country is the same as that of the INM publications, if you think the only alternatives are Facebook and Twitter. Again, that's entirely up to you where you get your news from. Like I said earlier, all media outlets are fundamentally biased in some regard. You chose where you get your own information and make your own informed opinion.

Completely agree that its entirely up to oneself to search around for a non bias news source.
When you have a muti billionaire with 57.6 percent share of news output in our country with a bias towards Fine Gael you find yourself questioning the credibility of newstalk,Irish Independent plus 18 local news stations, recently the national Union of Journalists are calling on Alex White to 'cryhalt ' to supply news to UTV Ireland.

Then you have RTE on the other hand with a share of 41.7 percent of news output. In my eyes never seen a government minister uncomfortable under the spotlight with prescript questions.

All the figures I quoted from
    http://www.irishtimes.com/business/sectors/media-and-marketing/media-mergers-regime-change-tomorrow-1.1980794

You could go on about bank write off worth over 300million in debts
    http://www.irishtimes.com/business/sectors/banks-write-off-over-300m-in-three-deals-with-denis-o-brien-1.1830533

Topaz appointing former Brian Cowen. Seems like Dennis O'Brien was returning a favor.
    http://businessetc.thejournal.ie/topaz-brian-cowen-1445910-May2014/

Deal to supply the entire public service worth 20million,
Was there bidding from other companies for this contract?
    http://www.rte.ie/news/business/2014/0502/614868-topaz-ogp-deal/

Hard to ignore the constant links this tax exile has with politicians(present and former).
Just think it's worrying for one person to weld this power on our media output.

I would like to see IW to cease trading and water to remain controlled by government/local auth
I have to say the imaginations of posters here is truly wonderful. Missing leg, rubber brick, undercover Guard. Brilliant.

I've heard Kaizer Soze is on the board of IW.

    Pathetic. Violent protest is violent.

That it's very convenient, Protests so far have not had trouble just pushing and shoving. Now all of a sudden someone rocks up with a "brick" not even from the local architecture, No sign of a building site. And is able to lob it at a garda car unhindered even in plain sight apparently with 100 garda about and make his escape. They managed to lift 2 people apparently for something or other but not the brick man.
So you've reviewed all of the available evidence and come to this measured conclusion, right?
where is this video ? cannot find it anywhere
    ffs

The actual brick came from the grassy knoll, and not the Jobstown's school book depository.

The magic brick theory. I love my brick.

I'm against how the water charges are being implemented but surrounding a woman in a car banging on the doors and windows is ridiculous. I don't care who it is or if its a "peaceful protest" its wrong!

Not entirely true, i believe the Zappruder film also picked up this "Brick Man".

I personally think the Cubans are behind it.

So that's what makes it worse ? what if it was a man ? General public showing their displeasure at an elected official people are sick of gravy train politics with their head firmly in the trough.

Last time I checked Joan Burton was a woman. If it was a man I would have said a man will you stop been so pedantic. Showing displeasure at someone is one thing, trapping them in a car and slamming on it is another.

    gravy train

I do enjoy a tired cliché all the time, don't you?

    Paul Murphy TD, tweet:
Indo is leading with a photo of brick thrown at Garda car. Is it a genuine photo? I don't know. I do know it did not happen during protest.

Where does a protest begin and end?

Does it matter if her life was in danger? Would you like it if a group of people were unhappy with you and locked you into your car banging on the doors and windows ? Would you think that was acceptable?

The protestors locked her into her car from outside ? I think it's quite acceptable for people to show their displeasure of elected officials. People like to use the EU as an example of why we should have a water charge. What happens in the rest of the EU in protests ? they pretty much do the same thing.

Funnily enough, other EU citizens pay water charges!

It's also a choice to have the water services pump the sh*te out of your house , treat it and pump clean treated water back in.
