Just from the little I've seen I'd expect Shane Hegarty to be involved with Cork intermediates.
    Also Niall Motherway seems good.
Ryan Denny excellent in county final repłay but he's still very young I think?

He was on minor panel last year I think for a bit was he?

I believe so. Looked with proper development over next couple years that he has good potential

Myself and a friend were trying to work it out.

Deane is who I was thinking at 38

He was thinking that Bride Rovers have a couple of lads who've been around a long time

Ladies football all stars for Marie Ambrose, Geraldine O'Flynn, Vera Foley, Rena Buckley, Breige Corkery and Valerie Mulcahy

Breige won player of the year, first to win it twice!

The Duns lads don't like getting involved in either the Cork Intermediates or Imokilly.

Not sure that is correct Motherway played Imokilly v SARS this year Hegarty played with UCC in county so could not play with Imokilly. Denny just out of minor this year and another lad James McCarthy was cork minor and should get a look in next year as well in either intermediate or Imokilly.

Bit of an unusual question but does anyone know who was the oldest player to play in this years senior club hurling championship?

As a knock on from this question who was oldest in senior football championship?

    Perhaps John Miskella?

That is not correct at all as make sense gave example andthere is plenty more show that is not true
Just out of a matter of interest why do you have this view?

Forgot about Motherway. Typically they aren't well represented on either team, a club with such a big catchment area having only one sub with Imokilly is pretty shocking.

Bit harsh and incorrect Motherway started match v sars hegarty as I said could not play as for big catchment area half a parish same as castlemartyr depends on selection as well maybe now they are up intermediate players will push on getting to Munster final will help profile as well as playing in UCC same as Lawton brothers pushed getting notice when playing in colleges.

They traditionally have a bigger catchment area than Castlemartyr. An awful lot more farmer families to pick from. ;)

Well done to nemo in a very composed and accomplished display full of intelligence and they played the conditions brilliant wise in took there opportunity before the ist half ended in got a lead
Yes legion were not probably he'll bent on munster but the ruthless effective display nemo superb boost cork football and badly needed win cork team over kerry

I am firm belived game often won or lose before a ball is kicked in game plans team selection and tactics are paramount to success and again o brien and corkery and kavanagh were magnificent in tactics and team selection

They had the brilliant warrior and cute o shea on donughe and held him two play and while fouled him few times he always prevented goal chance with colm tucker brien playing sweeper brilliant giving him cover also

Colm tucker o brien has been called up cork imo as he can play sweeper brilliant but can also play the jackal in blanket but he can kick and see a pass to counter and when he attack as this year proved can in the d zone score and he would be excellent panel members cork

I said after county final i felt nemo more in them today showed that in ist half with kerrigan connolly Cronin lovely point and I still belive more them and coaching is brilliant and stephen o brien done master class in three years building fine team and he has reinvented kerrigan who brilliant and consistent three points play and top four twenty two be top scorer cork in he having superb season and really turned corner
Nemo will win munster now and I actually believe have good chance challenge all ireland

O se was brilliant what a warrior a great great great really really really great player with kerrigan connolly o brien and Barry driscoll all playing there part
A huge boost to cork football
Legion were coached by kerry minor coach so that is good win and adds o brien ever growing profile management

Billy Morgan correct ten years ago or so when he said o brien would be a super management for nemo

What a complete load of nonense with respect
    About farming reference
Fair enough your a castle man as you said here before but at least don't let club rivalry take away from Dungourney

Dungourney have nothing to be appalling about with Imokilly representation
There closer neighbouring it's fair to see had an appalling munster final defeat last year so castle hardly in any positions to be high moral grounds with respect as least Dungourney won junior in weren't loosing few regular like castle and beat limerick side much better than kerry team only team castle beat munster last year

Totally totally agree With that and I suppose if Dungourney like castle had reporter in cork continually blowing up profile there players like castle have at times where yes fair enough some deserves be mentioned good games but any game some player good they get way imo over the top credit while other players other club imo don't get much profile probably help there cause imo
Dungourney are a credit to there area

Players/students will always travel if they know the school system is good enough to be successful. Kierans pick all over KK because players know they have a Rolls Royce structure with high probably of success. There's a bit of a chicken and egg situation in Cork where the schools aren't successful so aren't drawing in from outside the natural catchment area. The Mon would draw from a 20 mile radius in its hayday. It needs some school to take the thing by the balls and actively monitor the U12/primary school competitions and encourage the cream to go to that particular school. But that ambition doesn't exist in Cork. Midleton CBS are the exception, they have the catchment area to be super strong in Harty most yrs

Which is exactly what ASR started doing over a decade ago - started courting the primary schools big time. Driven by Liam Kennedy, a good Tipp hurling man. Mind you they got and continue to get significant county board support. Something that's totally lacking in Cork schools.

No idea what farming families have to do with the discussion but whatever floats your boat which I would assume is a castlemartyr one what it does show is the good underage work where the two are joined up to minor as kiltha og.

Very good day, Milford, Carrigaline and Nemo winning

Nemo gave a footballing lesson to the Kerry team today- no harm at all!! They played their tactics based on the weather very well and were in total control of the game. Their possession stats at times must have been huge. The Legion players were seriously frustrated as they were without the ball for lengthy periods. Tomás Ó Sé did well , for a man of 38 in heavvy conditions, apart from his stupid cross the goal pass with 10 to go.
Nemo are motoring very well indeed, strong and experienced down the middle, plenty of runners either side and - as always- every player comfortable on the ball.

Well done all Cork sides today ...Nemo what a club I was and have been very impressed by Alan Donovan again today ...but Nemo had many heros today ....Clonmel had a great win today so Nemo will have a very tough final to play now...

Thomas is 38 but what age is Niblock? Lots of grey hair belies his tremendous workrate and football ability.
I presume he's too old for an intercounty call up?
Nemo are a proud club and won't be pushed around by anybody. Legion tried a few bully boy hits but came
    off second best generally.
Tough on them to face back over the county bounds this evening knowing that South Kerry will be fresh and
ready for them next Sunday and no doubt an few of them will be reminded about letting Kerry down on the banks
    of the Lee.

Its so far so good with our clubs in the Munster championships....Nemo Rangers, Carrigaline, Newcestown and Dungourney in Munster finals ....Bandon have a semi final next weekend .....these club championships are very special and in reality for lots of clubs its a once in a life time experience ..hopefully now some of the titles can come to Cork ...wont be easy...one other point Paric Duffys report last week suggests a calendar year finish for all GAA competitions ..sounds great but not realistic...when you look at the Laois, Waterford and Kerry situations this year how could All-Ireland finals be played in December ...also look at the weather at the moment and it just does not sound right to play All-Ireland finals in December ...another factor strong dual countys will be under more pressure to run off the championships ...also the St. Patrick day for the Club finals is very special now why finish off something as good as that day should be cherished.
