Full tank of Maxol fuel in the car.

I'm not joking, but it does seem to be happier with it. It's probably a placebo, but we'll see how it runs through. Was definitely idling smoother by the time I got home.

Anyone tried this brand of wiper (new to the market)

Some cars are stupid and don't allow the wiper arm to stay folded up, or it does and it hits the bonnet once you turn the wipers on.

People tell me I'm mad but I notice that with Maxol too. Don't get it anywhere else with any other petrol or diesel.

Wouldn't normally have bothered but I was passing one when the fuel light came on so I thought, why not?

I'd be tempted to call it a placebo, but at the same time the improvement in idle quality did sort of happen as the old fuel was run out of the lines.

If I had the money, I'd be tempted to pay for sample testing just to see what the story was.

I've never tried maxol fuel at all. Golf has only every got topaz and it's due a fuel filter in the next few k km so I suppose the old one will give some insight into how good or bad the diesel is.

Ive used maxol a few times and the car did seem to drive better. There is a new maxol opening near me soon so I'll be trying it out for a while, at the rate the current beast guzzles petrol it shouldn't be long to see if there is any appreciable difference.

Car had oil and air filters changed today and got six and a half litres of new oil, along with two sidelights. Need to get some new tyres, sort out the damn airbag light (looks like it's a sensor in the BOOT!!!!!), and possibly replace the backbox, so a trip to Suohans is on the cards

Didn't Maxol used to use an ethanol blend. E5 or something.

Dug up an old thread on it here,

Well that was interesting. A customers fuel tank just decided to drop it's load on one of our pump bays.

I seen that pr1ck and the fact that the first pic has been used about 50,000 times I decided to proceed no further! :D

But seriously, hard to know what to make of it. Do they expect people to just not drive their cars until they get the test done if they can't get a date before the due date?

It says that Garda are preparing for an unprecedented number of checkpoints. Does that mean I might actually get to drive through a checkpoint :pac: I genuinely can't remember the last time I drove through a proper checkpoint it's been that long.

Afaik they all use 5% ethanol now (at least). If the "base stock" and other additives are ok then you have decent juice. Otherwise pinking, coking or deadness.

Depends on how easy it is to get a test.

If the only date you can get is months after it's due - you're a bit ****ed.

I've heard that if you ring them they'll give you a test date fairly quickly.
