I know this has been asked a million times but I forgot what's the best stuff to use. Basically the tops of the headlights on the golf are starting to haze or whatever you want to call it. It's very slight but better to do it soon I recon. Most golf mk5 headlights seem to go like this. I know toothpaste was suggested is there other better stuff to use ?

I saw this exact car today (1 XO); at first I thought it was a restyled 156 estate to which Ferrari badges had been attached. Little did I know that it was one of two only F456 Venices, a 4 door estate Ferrari especially built by Pininfarina in 2005.

I used mine for about a half hour this evening, putting hids in the astra.
Worked fine, no heating or anything, it was cutting too.
    I wouldn't mind you though, you'd break anything. :)

Sloane Street, Knightsbridge. Surprised that they permitted it to be made.

Ha. Used to live around that area. Ferraris are more common than BMWs.

New top mount failed last night...only about 20 miles on it....it turns out that new sport shocks, probably require uprated top mounts too....ugh....this car is a pain in the arse at times!

For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. ;)

When I had the Trans Am I changed out the rear gas shocks for Koni's then discovered that one of the rear leaf springs had failed.

Had to get a new set from the US which weren't hugely expensive on their own but you can imagine the shipping on a big heavy set of leaf springs.

So I want to upgrade the headlight bulbs (H7) in the S60. Are Osram nightbreaker unlimited the way to go? If so, is it worth doing the fogs (H1) and high beams (HB3) too?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73,551 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

Wouldn't bother with upgrading fogs or high beams tbh

Grandest. Didn't think they'd be worth doing either. Plus the high's are a small fortune. Did the nightbreaker unlimited replace the nightbreaker plus?

I have osram nightbreakers ultimate and I find them brilliant. Light is slightly whiter too and just overall better. I could never go back to using normal bulbs.

I'd just change the h7 couldn't see any point in changing the fogs. Maybe the headlights but again unless you do a serious amount of night driving the h7s are enough of an upgrade.

I currently drive a remapped E90 330d, it’s lovely – lots of power, very comfortable, reasonably ‘classy’ (if that’s the right word).

Anyway my annual mileage is coming down so I’m thinking of moving to petrol, so what would ye suggest? I’d still want something refined, comfortable and somewhat powerful, but ideally I’d like my €/mile cost to fall so I’m not really open to the ‘you now do less mileage so buy an M5’ type suggestions!

523i M Sport or something like that?

But is the 330d not so wonderful that you can't give it up? I've never driven one but it seems well thought of according to the internet

Has anyone noticed recently there is alot of cars going around with defective / worn breaks. The noise out of some of them coming to a stop at junctions when you'd be walking by pure metal on metal. I can't understand if your brake disks are gone why you wouldn't change them. Brakes and tyres are ultimately the most important part of the car. I've often walking and I'd swear an artic or something was coming to a stop behind me and I'd turn around and it would be a ford focus or something like that.
