True, I'm lazy and pay others to fix mine. Ain't got no time to be prciking around with it unfortunately. Although, I'm due some car therapy so might tackle the heater resistor at the weekend. Find one somewhere, and find a ford wiki and I'll give it a lash!

I've had to make time to prick about with mine, utter pain in the backside, but sure anyways, sure what harm will it do!

Just going to wait patiently for Bp to come and defend that :pac:
Not in a golf etc etc.... (sorry bp, had to :P)
Funny that, I was told the same, but that mk5's are more prominent to it, especially black 3 door vans. Galway registered ones bizzarely tend to frequently show the light....

Ha ha I don't even know what them engine management lights look like I've never seen one :pac: they must of removed the bulb in my golf :D

On a serious note accross the board vw's of that era seem to constantly have the airbag light come on. It's never come on on my own one but ones I've been in seem to have it on a lot.

My god bp, did you just talk negatively of a vw?
    Better again a Golf :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,599 ✭✭✭tossy

I always check if the engine is there at least once a week, it stops the check engine light coming on :D

In 8 years of owning mk4 based cars i've seen a check engine light 3 times busted MAF and twice for blown coilpacks on different cars.

I've seen the check engine light more often than I've seen the fuel light.

I can honestly say that I have my one just over 11 months 29k km I have on it and the only two warning lights that have ever come on is fuel and blown bulb warning. The only problem I have is the stupid headlight adjuster motor shorting which I am thinking of just pulling the fuse on for the moment.

Sure every make and model has some problems. I just noticed that you'd often see the airbag light on in them although is plenty of non vw that have the same problem. I suppose the airbag light covers a lot of airbag related faults.

    CEL for a P0420
    Coolant warning light
    Traction control warning light
    ABS warning light
    DSC warning light
    Power steering warning light
    Fuel Light.

Was like driving Apollo 13. Turned out to be a slow puncture confusing the stability control system. Took me a long time to figure that out. Otherwise, I just had to apply the NASA method to it.

We had a 04 Megane like that. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the car. But you would be driving down the road and all a sudden you'd get a load of warning lights; end, stop, service, airbag, abs then about 5 minutes later they would go off. That was one of the last renaults to have the dodgy electrics as the 07 one we had never caused any trouble.

I'd imagine they're not stock for sale, just demos, and belong to Bmw?

Id say you'd be suprised I'm sure he sells a few m cars although it does seem like a lot to stock.

Haven't seen a new Fxx M at all yet. I live outside Dublin though. Would love to own one in the future but they'll be like hens teeth by the time they're on my radar.

Has to be, his Galway forecourt is ridiculously small it's not funny. Lorry has to mount the footpath and unload the cars alongside the busy Tuam road, almost always during rush hour!

Ooft, beast of a thing. Only thing I'd change is the alloys. Like em to be a bit fuller looking.

Tell me, is there a type of "showroom mode" on new BMW's that dealers use? Every morning on the way to work I pass Conlons in Limerick before it opens and all the cars in the showroom window have some of their lights on to "enhance" the display I suppose. Looks well to be honest but this is every single morning when its still dark out. Can't be good for the batteries presuming thats what the lights are ran off and that they're on all night.
