    Hey lads,

    Quick one....

NCT in the morning and I can't remember if the rear seat belts should be closed or open? Their FAQ just says visible but I think I had them closed on my last car...

    Cheers

Once straps are visable and all work that is what is needed as they will fail if buckle or strap are hidded under seat cushion or that.

Did you check the horn works I would recommend going out now so its not too late;) and wake all the neighbours in the process:pac::D

    Hope she passes...

If you have wheel stud caps remove them, or it's a fail.

Oh the horn definitely works.. An extended spin on the M50/7/8 gives plenty of opportunity to check it :p

Berm away the last few days so only checked some things earlier.. One of the rear tyres could be close I'd say but feck it, see what happens.

Oh yea, because she's a Quattro I seem to remember reading that they have to take her out for a spin to test some stuff? Not sure how thrilled I am with that idea....

I think they basically just drive it around the centre to check the breaks are working correctly. It's not like they drive it around town or anything. Tbh I don't get why everyone always complains about nct staff driving being in their cars it's really only just into our of the text centre and around it.

I'm not sure whether the orders I made a few days ago aren't really placed or my bank account is acting up. Showing a good bit more than I should have after ordering everything and doesn't show the orders money leaving my account yet I have all the emails saying payment confirmed and order confirmation.

I may have been caught by a GoSafe van. :(

where is the guy that use to cut down the fixed gatso we need a masked hero to safe us all.

Sick of seeing these vans on straight roads that are safe and have not had any death or serious accident where they are set up.

They are a bunch of cowboys

Weird problem with dipped headlights in PhD car the beam is about six feet and no amount of adjusting increases it. Am going to replace the bulbs tomorrow and see if that helps
Any thoughts on what else it could be?

    It a 00 eclass

Self levelling motor at fault? maybe there was condensation on it and it froze?

Possible the leveling mechanism has broke. Happened to me in the 406. I'll test my set tomorrow and if they're any use I'll let you know.

The motors that is, the lenses are quite black and useless :( you'd have to change the lenses round.

Yes, I have an E Class

The h7 lamp/bulbs can lose there brightness like any bulb of course but see a lot of avensis and almera
and so on with them not lighting anything in front.

Are the light fittings clogged up with condensation or were bulbs fitted back properly

Bulbs have not been replaced since we got the car two years ago

Isn't the reason the avensis and almera lose brightness down to the bulb holder on the headlight melting/detaching rather than a fault with the bulb?

Stheno, I'm guessing that by adjusting you mean adjusting a wheel or something inside the cabin? If so it's motors not getting a signal or power, or the motor is fudged. If by adjusting you mean getting a screw driver or spanner and tweaking something under the bonnet then the mechanism is fudged.

In other news, I've seen 1 softroader well dug into a ditch already tonight. Be careful out there!

Yeah it's a wheel in the cabin

Yes you are right in some cases but have found times where the bolb has actually just gone that bad.

It seems a common fault on them alright which some don't seem to notce as the light output would be better holding a match in front of you.
