    Falcao's next three fixtures:

    QPR (H)
    Leicester (A)
    West Ham (H)

He's starting to look more attractive than Aguero!

"Since migrating to Europe in 2009, Radamel Falcao has scored 153 goals in 197 competitive club appearances to establish himself as one of the most prolific strikers on the planet."

Their last fixture was against Burnley, and that didnt turn out so well.
I'd hold fire on Falcao unless his price is going through the roof, United are too all over the place at the moment to be blindly lumping on Falcao

This is why I'm surprised that he's cheaper than Sturridge. He's a lethal finisher, might even be the best in the world.

Thats my thinking. Taking a 4 point hit to bring in Falcao for Rooney seems mental but calculated risks are what get you far in this game! I don't want to bring in Aguero until after the next two fixtures if possible. Who will take pens for United?

Likely Rooney. Even still, I opted for Falcao this morning for Rooney. This is where seasons are won and lost, getting him in early could be important. Am I right in thinking his price can't change this week?

Do it. Do it. Do it.

I resisted Sat but caved Sunday.

Didn't really 'need' to but wanted rid of Jovetic & Mata and wanted the fun of playing around with my team for two weeks, chasing price hikes and the fun of being able to react to transfers.

The falcao signing is just the icing on that cake.

Anyway I'm glad it's done now, once I've a team picked - I can then forget about wildcards and just focus on one transfer a week. It's a big shiny distraction that lets you punt too easily without fear of consequences.

I'd love a wildcard although it would be for an 8 point hit so not worth it. Will use it once I figure out who the best 2 of Aguero, Costa and Falcao are. £11m is too cheap for him. 15k transfers in already today!

They have too many good players to continue to play badly, they will hit form and it could easily be at home to QPR. Definitely worth the risk IMO, and if he doesn't perform then get Aguero in for GW6.

    F-ck it. I'm buying Falcao.

+1, I think the Blind signing is massively undervalued. He will give them stability and a platform now to work with (a DCM who passes to his teammates - something they've been missing). Add in they've 2 weeks to get Herrera and others fit.

Their team v QPR will be a lot lot different than say v Sunderland.

Adding Blind, Rojo, Herrera, DiMaria & Falcao to that side is going to be a huge change. (possibly shaw & Rafael too?)

I have wild carded, temptation got the better of me.

    Trigger's dream team:

    Krul
    Monreal, Rose, Ianovich
    Ramsey, Fabregas, Sterling, Sigurdsson
    Falco, Costa, Welbeck.

    Bench: Mannone, Wisdom, Duff, King.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,268 ✭✭✭IsMiseMyself

    Welbeck could be interesting.

I have no real massive changes I want to make so I'll be holding onto my wildcard.

Falcao could be a stroke of genius or a fail. It's a roll of the roulette wheel. He could be an amazing captaincy choice for QPR if he starts. His price is frozen for 8 days so i'll await an official update on RVP. If he has a long standing injury as rumoured i think i'll take the risk and do Rooney to Falcao and put the armband on him.

Falcao just back from injury and was not fully match fit and still managed 3 goals in 4 this season. The man is a beast.

I still think the International break before GW8 is the right to WC. Will have enough available information by then to select the right team and hopefully the price change algorithims will be discovered correctly by then to optimize team value as well.

I think RVP's glory days are long gone. I'd rather Rooney.

It was 2 goals in 3. He didn't play at the weekend due to the transfer deadline.

You're right excluding preseason. He has 2 in 3 league games.

He scored against Arsenal in the Emirates Cup, so if you include that it's 3 in 4.

Some savage surgery will be needed.

Must resist Falcao. On the price rises for him, I know he's protected for 8 days so after those 8 days does his nti get reset or will he shoot up in price immediately? If I swap Aguero for Falcao I'll have enough to spruce up the back line and but a playing keeper in goals. Only have 0.1 to spare though so don't want to be rode by a big Falcao increase.

The thoughts of the defence you're going to have. Couldn't do it. :pac:

    Krul

    Chester/Wilson/Duff/Moore/Wisdom

    Siggy/Ramsey/Fab/Sterling/King

    Falcao/Aguero/Costa

€0.2m short on that but dyer & Dier rises should cover it shortly.

or go for one slightly less expensive midfield option (not sure who to give up though) and get 1/2 €5m defenders to anchor the team a bit.

Had a very quick look. Would require 2 x 4.5m defenders, 3 x 4.0m defenders, along with a 4.5m midfielder as a start. It would also require me to downgrade one of Ramsey, Cesc or Sterling, to gain another 0.6m.

So basically, in no way worth it in my opinion!

    Edit: What kennyb3 said!

    Falcao NTI 17,000
    Rooney NTI -14,000

Seems everyone is dumping Rooney for Falcao.

    For comparison:

    Alternative WC team

    Forester

    Terry/Jones/Moeno/Wilson/Duff

    Siggy/Ramsey/Fab/Sterling/King

    Falcao/Costa/Naismith

With €1.1m in bank to switch Falcao to Aguero if needs be.

So keepers wise Krul v Forester

So defenders wise Terry, Jones, Moreno v's Chester, Moore, Wilson

    Forwards wise Aguero v Naismith

I think the Aguero cost could be the tipping point - just too much.

I'd prob be all over but for CL, fixtures & injury. Savages the defence bit too much. Then again one hattrick and I might feel very regretful.

Im going to hold off on my wildcard till gw6.

At the moment I have Augero but i might swap him for falcoe closer to the next gw after the international break and use the wildcard in gw 6 when citys fixtures change for the better.

The wildcard will let me downgrade terry to a cheaper chelsea alternative and begovic for another 4.5 million keeper to rotate with krul that will allow me to have a big front 3 of augero, costa and falcoe/rooney.

Just putting this out there: How sure are people that Falcao will start v QPR?

He is only back from a long term injury and has played 31, 28 and 69 minutes in his 3 games so far. We are assuming RVP is injured, but if not there has to be a reasonable chance Falcao will start on the bench.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,600 ✭✭✭roryc

I'll probably hold off on the first game but if he starts and plays well

It's an unnecessary risk, especially if you are looking to bring him in, at a hit, for Rooney. How frustrating would it be to see Rooney score and Falcao come on for a 30 minute 1 point cameo! Could cost you double digits.

Bear in mind Rooney will be playing out of his skin the next few weeks.

I'm on a WC and I'll still possibly leave Rooney in. (with spare cash)

But will all depend on LvG presser on Friday and news re RVP.

No RVP = Flacao for me.

Yeah I was amazed by how many seemily sane people used their wildcard before the international break and end of the transfer window. Granted, I've done it after GW1 in the past but thats when there have been 3 or 4 must have players that I didn't have in my original team. A lot of people seem to have used their WC unnecessarily to make a handful of changes, and actually scored worse than they would have had they kept their pre-WC team. The season is long anyway so I wouldn't worry. Hard to tell whether the WC will be a massive bonus at some stage later on in the season. Looking less and less likely I'll use mine anytime soon though.
