Looks like it's wildcard time for me... a shame really as I'm pretty happy with my team and any changes could have been done on a weekly basis.

But with Rooney and Mata... I'm not willing to loose 0.3, 0.4m between them during the international break. They'll both prob be in my GW team for GW4.... Will try to make a few bob elsewhere to add to that "saving" while I'm at it.

Villa keeping a CS today would have been a golden egg for 3 * 0.2m rises :(

Chambers 8 points, even though they're sitting on the bench is enough for me to hold onto my wildcard.

If I have to sell one my Mata and Rooney pairing I will. I'll keep both if either only look like dropping 0.1m.

    Why? Your mid-field is excellent.

I'm happy with it bar Eriksen, who's underperformed (FF-wise, anyway; have not watched much of Spurs). After his 1-pointer today I'd be worried about a potential drop in value over the break.

Would it be madness to take a -4 to get rid of Dzeko?

He's got Arsenal next and mightn't start

I'll try one last time and bump this question :)

Its not madness. Who are you replacing him with?

Edit: Out of curiosity, what was the free transfer?

Happy with a solid 56 for the week and seriously considering holding off my FT until all international games are played.

Id get rid regardless of upcoming fixtures. City attack is too unpredictable atm. At least Bony / ade are guaranteed 90mins.

UPDATED VERSION WITH MORE EXAMPLES ON PRICE RISE THREAD
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057270906&page=26

I have activated my wildcard. Its a pain that the price tracking sites are not working.

The price increases then appear to be based on the number of transfers in against the total population.
    1. The first rise once the net transfers in is 3% of the total population (approx 94,422 transfers in)
    2. The second rise of the week is an additional 6% of the total population (approx 283,266 transfers in - 94,422 + 188,844)

    3. If there are no prise rises in a single gameweek then the net transfers are carried over to the following gameweek. Otherwise they are reset to zero.
    4. Edit: If there is a price rise in a gameweek then the remainding transfers are carried over to the next week.

The price decreasesthen appear to be based on the number of transfers in against the total ownership of that player.
    1. The number of transfers out for a drop to take place is 10% of the players ownership. For example if a player has 5% ownership then he would have 157,370 owners. To receive a .1 price drop there would need to be 15,737 transfers out.
    2. The 10% is recalculated at the start/end of each gameweek (any transfers before that deadline are not included in the following GWs changes)
    3. The 10% is recalculated after a price change occurs (if the out were more than needed to effect a price change then the difference does not carry over - Player had 120k owners. 12k transfers are needed to effect a price drop. If there were 20k in a single day then the player would drop .1 million and the new limit would be (120k-20k)/10k = 10k. A total of 10k transfers out would be needed for another price drop the following day. (The extra 8k transfers would not count against the next days transfers as they would be reset to zero.)

The above is just a theory.

Costa and Naismith both had over 100k transfers in since the deadline and so both of these gained 0.1 million. Based on the above Costa would need another 100k transfers in and Naismith would need another 163k transfers.

Rooney has 111,065 transfers out since the gameweek deadline. Based on ownership he would need another 30k transfers out to drop

    =======================================================
Price rises using Sigurdsson as an example:
    GW1-2: 380,962 total transfers in
    0.1 at 94,422
    0.1 at 283,266
    transfers carried over: 97,696

    GW2-3: 97,696 + 304,669 = 402,365 total transfers in
    0.1 at 94,422
0.1 at 283,266 (next 0.1 would have been at 566,532)
    transfers carried over: 119,099

    GW3-4: 119,099 + 70,692 = 269,791 total transfers in
    0.1 at 94,422
transfers needed for another rise: 13,475

Potential transfer of Rooney to Costa?

    Is this advisable?

There could be a 0.3m swing here if Costa rises another 0.2 and Rooney falls 0.1.

Wanted to save my transfer if possible but is it stupid not having Costa now? Other strikers are Aguero and Adebayor.

Midfield of Ramsey, Sterling, Fabregas and Siggy

I have 0.8m in the bank so can absorb a price swing but it sounds like a lot of money to lose out on

Am I crazy to keep Sanchez in? He paid off this week and hopefully he'll play more of a striker role with Giroud out til the new year. Also thinking Kolarov out, but who to bring in? Lovren?

The Rooney to Costa move is one I'll be doing this week. I thought I might get away with it until he banged in that second goal. But now I think he is a must have. I've already missed the first price rise of the week, so would like to try and wait for at least one of Spains 2 games to be over. But don't want to miss another price rise. Also a chance of Rooney dropping too, and don't want to miss that one either. So hard to know though without any of the price rise websites being trustable.

45 points this week. Not great, but not a disaster either.

Sort of leaves me in limbo regarding the WC. I have 3 players that I would definitely like to get rib of: Rooney (for Costa), Eriksen, and Bojan. There are a few other I could probably switch around, but they're not critical.

Bojan is a sub, so he's not as critical (although I'd probably lose another 0.1 on him). So maybe a 4 point hit would allow be to keep my WC.

    At the minute thinking:
    Rooney and Eriksen out
    Costa and De Jong in

    Anyone in a similar situation?

I have Rooney and will be getting rid of him ASAP if Falcao arrives at Utd.

I agree Rooney --> Costa is a good move, but is Eriksen ---> De Jong really worthwhile? They're both very hyped up players, neither who has done anything of note as of yet. If you had De Jong you'd probably have him in the same list of players to get rid of.

Fair enough on De Jong…I fully realise he has done nothing yet. I will be need to think of a suitable replacement for Eriksen though for under about 8.2 (De Jong just happened to pop into my head!).

Anyone know what the deal is with players who leave the league today? Do you get their current value back just automatically yeah?

El Ahmadi just went to Feyenoord and I'd imagine he was a bargain midfielder for all of people.

They can still be traded, so get rid of him before his price drops.

Anyone for Falcao - will he get work permit before QPR? Is he fit?

thoughts on Rooney to Costa ?
I know United are muck, but they have another decent fixture. I want to make the transfer, but tempted to hold off another week.

Also, got Clichy in last week #fail. surely i should dump or are many here holding him ?

Edit - just pulled the trigger on rooney
    > costa. Falcao will mean rooney suffers

not happy with having clichy anymore. silly transfer to make in the first place

    2 FT's made:

    Fletcher -> Naismith
    Mata -> Sterling

Frees up a bit of extra cash also which may come in handy.

I'm definitely doing Rooney to Costa.

It's not so much that I don't think Rooney will do ok over the next couple of weeks (I'm sure he'll get a couple of goals) it's just that I think Costa is pretty much a must have at this stage. Basically, between now and the end of the season I can Costa well outscoring Rooney.

depends who your other strikers are. I already had Costa and rooney since day 1

Yes I should have made that point - if I could have both I probably would. But I don't have Costa and the only way for me to get him in without wildcarding is to dump Rooney.

If Falcao comes in it could mean Rooney and Mata being rotated. I am a United fan and i think it will take time to get things sorted. I have De Gea, Mata and Rooney and i think i need to wildcard all of them out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,083 ✭✭✭Chesty08

I have Rooney and Costa currently in.

Both have 3 home games from their next 4 matches but then again so do Liverpool!

Contemplating shipping Rooney out for SuperMario!

Anybody looking at Jordan Henderson at 6.0 he seems to be more advanced this season and starts every game.

Lads, rather simple question....but over the next two weeks could you make as many transfers as you wanted, just getting in players who are about to rise and then play your WC on the friday night before GW4 to erase all the point reductions?
