Personally i think it is a bad idea to transfer out Rooney unless you are swapping directly for Costa. Rooney is definitely worth keeping for one week at least.
People have been saying that for a few weeks now.

Rooney is the epitome of a form player. He could score 5 weeks in a row against Chelsea, City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs and then score nothing for 2 months against relegation fodder.

A Jovetic to Ballotelli and Mata to De Jong or Tadic move is tempting my inner Prodston at the minute.

Giving me a front line of Balotelli, Rooney and Costa.

I wouldn't go near Tadic until he's on set pieces, JWP is the stumbling block there really. To justify the 7.5 I think he needs to be taking them anyway. Likewise Ballo without penalties but that's just me.

After my Ramsey advice and our mutual Jovetic partnership you should probably steer clear of me :pac:

My parents did say we weren't allowed to play together after last weekend.

Anyone following the close of the transfer window. Wondering if could impact on FPL transfers. Already tempted by Wellbecks possible move to Arsenal.

Sky still haven't written it off. I think Arsenal just denied the reports he was having a medical.

Got rvp in in my wildcard last week supposedly needs an op now. The upside of that is I have the money for any striker in the game. Costa, rooney, aguero or falcao will wait till fri week. Im not going to worry about price rises.

I already went for Costa because I think he will be the default captaincy choice next week home to Swansea. I do have the 2 mil left spare though.

Me too, and when one of them breaks there'd be plenty of money to spend elsewhere.

Good thing I've got the guts of a fortnight to think about this potentially reckless move...

    Naismith in for Bojan.

Bojan at -86% on fplstatistics, and -173% on totalfpl so not risking losing 0.1 on him.

Rooney to Costa to come later in the week. That'll be -4 and if I have to do any more transfers I'll be wildcarding (probably). Hoping to get away with just those 2 transfers though.

Im also really tempted to go heavy up top. I already have augero and costa might downgrade and sacrifice cesc and mata to bring in sterling and falcoe.

I had convinced myself saturday to go 352 with Costa aguero up top
now I'm thinking of my usual 343 with costa falcao dzeko/wellbeck......
    I never play 352 anyway.....:D

Still undecided on whether to do Rooney to Costa. If Costa looks like rising in price in the next few days I might pull the trigger but that would leave me with no United cover.
Also thinking of doing Adebayor to Welbeck the following week. I'm assuming he'll not be playing out wide for Arsenal

Option 1: Adebayor, Sturridge, Fabregas, Ramsey and Taylor.

Option 2: Naismith, Aguero, Hazard, Sanchez and Manquillo.

    Thoughts?

Silly question - can I activate my wildcard now and make a couple of transfers and then tweak to my hearts content over the next two weeks?

Yes, as long as the transfers are confirmed before the deadline on the 13th.

Falcao at 11.0, let the games begin gentlemen.

diMaria and Falcao for Sterling and Rooney? Surely Rooney is going to be played a little deeper now. Hmm, decisions, decisions.

We must have similar teams, cos I'm considering Welbeck in for Adebayor too. Might leave it a week or two. Still have the WC, so considering Costa, Welbeck and Aguero/Sturridge up front.

With all Arsenals midfield talent, I'm pretty sure Welbeck's sole job will be to stick the ball in the net. I think he'll prove great value.

I think now may be the time to ship Mata. Falcao and Di Maria's signing means that Mata is now a big rotation risk unless RVP is out injured. I expect united to revert to a midfield diamond and all of Rooney, Januzaj, Mata and Di Maria can play at the tip of the diamond behind the front two. Di Maria will probably stay left on the diamond primarily but there will still be an odd one out from Rooney, RVP, Mata and Falcao and you have to imagine that will most likely be Mata.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,041 ✭✭✭zl1whqvjs75cdy

I'm staying clear of Falcao until we see what way united shape up. I've read that RVP needs knee surgery so could be out for a bit, with no Champions league to worry united Falcao could be a "must have". Or united could continue to be brutal and he'll be ineffective. Who knows.

RVP to Falcao is looking extremely likely.

Roony to Falcao is calling me.

Does anyone in the know have any idea if Falcao is even fit?

He's got 3 goals in 4 games for Monaco this season so I guess so.

    Falcao's next three fixtures:

    QPR (H)
    Leicester (A)
    West Ham (H)

He's starting to look more attractive than Aguero!

"Since migrating to Europe in 2009, Radamel Falcao has scored 153 goals in 197 competitive club appearances to establish himself as one of the most prolific strikers on the planet."

I'd probably not buy Augero if I go with Falcao. (Providing he keeps up his scoring record.) Already made one transfer this week but have .7m in the bank which is plenty to afford Falcao. Di Maria and Falcao could be some partnership!

Thats my thinking. Taking a 4 point hit to bring in Falcao for Rooney seems mental but calculated risks are what get you far in this game! I don't want to bring in Aguero until after the next two fixtures if possible. Who will take pens for United?
