I think Liverpool were at the very high end of how many pens they should have received last year, coupled with the fact that Suarez is no longer with them (I think he got most pen assists?) and I also don't think Gerrard will play as much this year. My honest opinion is Gerrard is about 100/1 to score 10+ pens this season, but if I was to offer a price on it I'd go 33's. And when you are looking at prices like that it becomes totally negligible. The Gerrard pen appeal is worth noting but he has been playing terrible other than that, and I can't see how pens will prop up his score again this season. He played terrible the other night, his BPS was woeful until he got gifted the pen.

Again, note that I'm not promoting Gerrard as a great option, I just don't think Liverpool getting 5-7 more penalties over the course of the season is that unlikely. He won't match that peno tally IMO but he is still the biggest penalty threat if one valued such a thing particularly highly (I don't). It was no fluke last year, it was down to how Liverpool played.

To also clarify I wasn't saying Gerrard is a better ff prospect than adm used him along with Ramsey and Hazard from last season to show the kind of scores a 9 million + mid needs to produce to get in our squads. Mata if he keeps his place is actually a better ff prospect than adm based on their careers to date due to the fact that mata historically has more goals in him.

I don't think anyone is questioning the ability and potential output of Di Maria but I think it's a perfectly rational opinion to wait and see how United go over the next few weeks before getting him in.

I'd expect him to do well and I'd imagine I'll be gorging on his points at some point but I'll be waiting a few weeks and holding Mata and Rooney. Might whip out the wildcard then if things change.

I.E. both those who bring Di Maria in have a case and those who wait and see what he does have a case

    Kofi Annan strikes again☺

    Plugged the plug on WC.

    Ended up with the attached.

I will go 3-4-3 every week.

Had to bring Ivanovic and Aguero. If Falcao or Di Maria are needed, should have the flexibility to change.

    We'll see!!!

I would downgrade some defenders and upgrade a midfielder so you have 4 strong mids instead of 3 (and 2 cheapies).

Cheers. What midfielder would you target or what price range?
I could look at it then and see.

Would have to go with rubbish defenders to make Fabregas fit.
Would be looking at Ivanovic + Chester /Dummett/Wisdom/Duff rotation.

Yeah ivanovic is killing you, you'd have to get rid of him to do it. Depends on who you think will score more - Ivanovic or Fabragas.

If I keep both at the moment, it would look like the attached:

Kinda tempted. Really only playing 2 poor options and 7 great options (Wellbeck as well who we'll see).

It's a good team, not sure how necessary Foster is though. West Brom look terrible so I can't see many weeks where you'll want to play him instead of Krul. Downgrade by .5 to Elliot and then you can upgrade Dummett whose starting place is very much in question

Cheers for that. If I do that, I can replace Dummett with Taylor from Swansea.
    Like that.
It would Ivanovic + Taylor and 1 other to rotate in from Chester /Wisdom/Duff.

Are you not worried about Chester starting now that Dawson has been signed? Davies is likely to play with one of those 2 beside him.

Marc Wilson would be an option then.

Yup Van Aanholt aswell, and dare I say it Martin Kelly, Palace's upcoming home games are on the easier side, and I'm sure they haven't forgotten everything they were good at last season.

A lot of talk about Di Maria on here. I think he was the best player in Europe for the last 4 months of last season. Having said that, he isn't in my team and I had 2 FT this gameweek as well as more than enough cash in the bank to bring him in straight.

In Fantasy terms he is an unnecessary risk even though he is, in my opinion, one of the best players in the world. I would much rather give him a few weeks to see if he settles and gets points on the board than invest in him right now when there are many cheaper alternatives who we know can get points up e.g. Silva, Sigurdsson, Gerrard etc.

Hazard is only £0.5m and has scored 190 & 202 points in his 2 PL seasons, respectively. Di Maria might outscore Hazard, I doubt it but I wouldn't rule it out, but for £0.5m I'd rather guarantee myself about 200 points than gamble on a United player given their current form. Chelsea are better than United and Hazard will be on penalties (Lampard stole 2 off him last year as he was still their penalty taker although not a consistent starter). It just seems mad to be investing that kind of money in Di Maria at this stage.

Is Zaha worth a punt at 5.4 lads? potentially a high pts scorer and v low cost it would free up serious cash if i transferred in him instead of erikson for example. What ye reckon?

Low risk, with the price. High risk of failure. Higher ceiling in terms of potential scoring than players of higher value. If you're looking to go for someone in the 5.0-6.0 range he is the best but that's a tricky price range to pick from in terms of team balance.

Happy I haven't pulled the trigger on him. Still he will probably be fine and I will probably be bringing him in eventually.
