    I said Leinster U18s Schools?

and these are the players that I know of on the squad however it is currently a squad of 46 and it will be cut down to 32 before the tour

    Tim Carroll (Roscrea)
    Tim Foley (Roscrea)
    Dave Duggan (Michaels)
    Barry Fitzpatrick (Michaels)
    Rory Mulvihill (Michaels)
    Oisin Dowling (Michaels)

    Conor Wynne Walsh (Belvedere)
Hugh O'Sullivan (Belvedere) 3rd year going into 4th year
    Tom de Jongh (Belvedere)

You didn't I added schools in post when I quoted it. Recognise a good few of those names. Carroll and Foley, the Roscrea pair are v good players as are Andrews pair. All of whom played last year. Leinster will win title as per usual
As usual Belvedere, Blackrock, Michaels with most players.

St Marys have a shot next year at making a good run given the right draw but theyve been miles off at jct level.

STMC should be considered favourites.. although they have a few more question marks than last year.

Rock will have to rely on a talented 5th year group to carry them which is possible also depends how much they recruit. Little experience returning.

Clongowes will be strong but it will be hard to replace Cleary and COD. Connors likely captain.

Belvo are more talented than theyve been in awhile but are probably not ready for it. Really lile their outhalf.

Look through Munster website and a player or two have been interviewed and a few players have been mentioned - Alex McHenry(CBC), Eoin Cahill (CBC).

  • Registered Users Posts: 23 DaveHln09

Jerry McCabe, Jack Sexton, Pierce Lyons, Ronan Coffey(Ard Scoil Ris)
    Gavin Coombes(Bandon Grammer)
    Joey Conway(Castletroy)
    Eoghan Cahill, Alex McHenry(CBC)
    Billy O'Hora, Glenn Dickinson(CCC)
    Jack Stafford, Colm Hogan(Glenstal)
Peter Sylvester, Graham Smith, Kevin O'Leary(PBC)
Conor Beary, Billy Johnston, James Kendrick, Lee Molloy, Daryl Egan, Conor Cashman, Jack Tierney(Rockwell)
    John Foley(Munchins)

That is some of the munster schools extended squad.

Seven from Rockwell when Castletroy who won the competition only got 1, a little surprising.

Perhaps a number of the Rockwell guys transferred into the school in the last year from the Munster club panel?

That's not the full squad so Castletroy may have more involved. None of them moved from a youths club and another school in the last year anyway as they were all playing junior cup for Rockwell last year

As far as I am aware both Porter and Jones are in the 20s squad at the moment .

Have been talking to a few people and have heard that this will be the most likely lineup

    Leinster U18s likely lineup

    1 Martin Mulhall (Kilkenny)
    2 Daniel McCaffrey (Belvedere)
    3 Rory Mulvihill (St Michael's)
    4 Brian Egan (Belvedere)
    5 Caelan Doris (Blackrock)
    6 Johnny Guy (St Andrew's)
    7 Tom de Jongh (Belvedere)
    8 Barry Fitzpatrick (St Michael's)
    9 Hugh O'Sullivan (Belvedere)
    10 Tim Foley (Roscrea)
    11 Jordan Larmour (St Andrew's)
    12 James O'Kane (CUS)
    13 James McKeown (Belvedere)
    14 Tim Carroll (Roscrea)
    15 Barry Goulding (Gonzaga)

Carroll, Larmour, Foley, Guy and Mulhall all have previous experience either with ireland or leinster u18.

Hugh O'Sullivan is only in 4th year and u17. Surprised if he was ahead of Dave Duggan.

Doris started for rock last year at 6 as a 4th year. Dont know much about Egan.

O'Kane was CUS OH last year iirc. McKeown started for Belvo on the wing.

Only 1 rock starter is sort of surprising.. No Dean or McGowan. Anyone know if Niall Marshall is involved?

Plenty of talent this is year, imagine if dan casey had stuck it out with rugby.

Surely Duggan from STMC will be 9-started all the interpros last year as an U17 and was in the Irish U18s squad

Hugh O'Sullivan would be a shock to start but that's what I'm hearing as he is more skillful than Duggan

There has been a lot of competition for backrow and so Doris with his height has been moved to Second Row

Dean isn't involved as both Foley and Jennings going for 10, expect Jennings to be replacement 10 and Dean third choice

McGowan may possibly sub but has been missing from Leinster for large part of Summer

AFAIK Niall Marshall is not involved

McKeown played 13 in Junior Cup in 2013 and O'Kane has moved to centre AFAIK

Is egan a backrow or a legit lock?

AFAIK Yes Egan has played second row always and has never played in the back row

I have only seen him play twice both of which were in 2013, but i believe he is 6'3

Interesting result. Millfield school(theyre not an academy despite their links to some premiership sides) would be very strong rugby school in England. They well beat Munster u18 schools 2 years ago when they were last in Limerick

Leinster Under 18 Schools beat Bedford 28-0
