    No, not at all.

    McGonagles and the Top hat!
5 hours on the bus Cork to Dublin.
My first gig in the Top Hat was Suicidal Tendencies/M.O.D.
Can't remember who I saw first in McGonagles but here's some that I did just to name a few.
    Death
    Carcass
    Acid Reign
    Xentrix
    Gang Green
    D.R.I.
    Sacred Reich
Fcuk! That's going right back. I'm sure I was at one or 2 of those. Maybe D.R.I.

But thats a savage collection of gigs right there. Serious scene back then when you think about it.

    The Suicidal/M.O.D. Gig was 1988 or 89.
I also saw Kreator and Sepultura in the Top Hat.

Oooh, Oi loikes a bitta bass, Oi do. Check out the start of this, which features a certain Mr. Ian Fraser Kilmister torturing a bass guitar within an inch of its miserable mortal life:

    Am I doing it right?

O___o i feel confused....this annoyed me, yet was catchy and i liked it, its like it pleased one part of my brain while pissed off the other....

i seriously still cant entirely grasp that culture of the whole bouncy anime girl thing.... i like it yet i find i cant entirely agree with it, it lacks aggression....i think that's why i liked/hated this song, its aggressive yet all bouncy and innocent like anime...weird

Anime? Innocent? LOL :D There's some seriously dark anime out there! ;)

I kinda love/hate Babymetal, some of the poppy vocals don't do it for me at all, but underneath it all, they're absolutely savage musicians:

    1:50 - DAT BASS!

oh i know, theres lots of ****ed up anime....but i think thats the point isnt it? to take these cute innocent sounding characters and turn them into something ****ed up.... the way they sigh, their big eyes, their high pitched voices, their perfect looks (as far as cartoon looks go), then they go ahead and rape something while stabbing something else just to purposely **** with the image....anime is just weird. i cant handle too much of it haha

I actually know a guy who was in high school with Amy Lee. Apparently, she was a bit of a douchewaffle back then... Still, I love her pipes.
"The Open Door" is one of my favorite albums. All the tracks are great but I have a particular soft spot for "Lithium".
She also did a truly excellent cover of KoRn's "Thoughtless"! :D

Aside from not being able to get in to DRI with a forged ticket I was at all of the above and a good few others. Megadeth in 1988 was probably the best of the lot. Metallica were as up there own hole 26 years ago in Dun Laoghaire as they are now. Still can't get my head around how popular they became to the point of being a household name.

Saw 'em with Tarja Turunen, and then with Anette Olzen when they played in Vicar Street a few years back. Did you catch them then?

And glad you like Versailles! :D

Nope. Hadn't heard of them then! I'm assuming that Tarja was brilliant live?
