Silva is a great player but it would be Ramsey for me.

    My team

Krul (Mannone) - Option to switch these around with favourable fixtures

Chambers Jones Azpil (Huth) (Bruce) - Stoke have a decent start and home fixture to Villa. Huth currently not starting. Is he worth sticking in XI. But for who?

Eriksen Fabregas Sterling Cazorla Adam - Stoke's decent start makes Charlie Adam a guaranteed starter and a must should his low value rise.

Rooney D.Costa (Naismith) - With Naismith as Everton's only recognised striker he will start for Everton, if his value rises hopefully I can capitalize on this early.

    Any recommendations lads?

Been working on fitting in the axis of awesome front 3 and I've arrived at this:

    15oc55c.jpg

Goalkeepers: QPR play 9 of their first 11 games in London and I reckon they'll be pretty tight at the back (relatively speaking) and at 8.5 I'm saving about 1.0 realistically. If it's not working out then I can always switch to Newcastle, WBA, Sunderland or one of the other promoted too if they're looking better. Not ideal but I'm quite happy all the same right now.

Defenders: A little from column A and a little from Column B here. Evans and Pieters should play almost every week and Bruce and Moore look like they'll rotate pretty well. Hutton can come in for Pieters in GW3 if I don't play him against City. If Spurs are looking good then it's an easy transition. Clearly I'm skimping a bit here but not as much as I was at one point :pac:

Midfielders: Ramsey and Mata speak for themselves. Not skimping there. Siggy it seems we'll all be sunk if he fails. If I downgraded Eriksen to Arnie I'd make life easier for my defence. Lamela appeals but the set-pieces of Eriksen and late season form are hard to ignore. King is my placeholder mid who could be anyone before Saturday.

Forwards: Costa, Rooney, Sturridge. It should be money well spent. Well it'll have to be if I'm to do well as lets be honest the rest of the team is poorer because of it. As the wise man Homer J Simpson once said "You don't win friends with salad" and that front 3 is full on steak to "balance's" salad :D

Not the route that I would go personally (i.e. the 3 big strikers) but you've thought it out very well. Obviously the rest of your team has to be a bit weaker to accommodate the 3 big guns, but you seem to have done as well as you can with them.

    Good luck!

Nice team. Only change id make is evans, Hutton, moore to three 4.5 defenders with decent fixtures.

Thoughts on this team before I go altering it all over again !

    Myhill

    Cahill - Shaw - Caulker

    Ramsey - Siggy - Mata - Hazard

    Remy - Giroud - Rooney (C)

    Subs: Krul, Wisdom, Sidwell, Coloccini

Any feedback would be great !

I like it - for one main reason - Sturridge. I really see people either taking a hit or using WC week 3 to get him in for GW4 onwards - there will be panic ahead of Villa at home i reckon.

I'm really not sure what to do liverpool wise in this regard. GW 2 & 3 fixtures aren't very good, but they could easily score a few while drawing/losing.

    Here's mine:

    De Gea/Schmeichel
    Isla/Shaw/Baines/Vlaar/Caulker
    Mata/Ramsey/Sterling/El Ahmadi/Albrighton
    Costa/Dzeko/Remy

    Thoughts?

For the Sturridge owners, has anyone considered buying Sterling in MF instead?

Be careful with Myhill starting, it's hard to tell whether he'll be in the first eleven. If you can make room for about 0.5 mil and rotate a starting 4.5 GK with Krul, that'd give you peace of mind...

    Thinking Coutinho myself.

That's my option for 'coverage', problem is I expect Sturridge to get the goals and the assists to be spread around (coutinho/Gerrard/Hendo/full backs). €3m is handy but not much use if Sturridge goes nuts.

The Sturridge option also appeals as he can become Aguero in one transfer.

He's about .5 off consideration for me. If his conversion rate goes up I'll be all over him though!

The Studge/Rooney/Costa trifecta is a thing of beauty but I can't bring myself to do it. Though Sturridge is definitely in my plans for the season!

Not a chance. Sterling was a steal for me last season when I paid somewhere around the 4.5-5 mark for him. No way am I spending 8.5m. (Cue Sterling scoring a heap. :pac:)

Me too, one of my better choices last season.
But I would not rule him out just because he was cheap last season and relatively expensive this season.
If he scores lots then his 8.5 could be worth it.

However, I have doubts. He did blow hot and cold last season and flattered to deceive in the world cup.
He always strikes me as a player who does well when the team is doing well, but when the pressure is on he does not do much IMO.
I will be putting him on my watch list for a while before deciding to put him in my team.

    Eriksen-Nasri-Mata-Johnson

Think I'm done tweaking my team...

    De Gea (Krul)
Shawcross / Lovren / Debuchy (Vlaar, Dummett)
Mata / Ramsey / Fabregas / Sterling (Noble)
    Rooney / Giroud / Bent

    *edit*

    nope, changed it again

    De Gea (Krul)
Azpilicueta / Lovren / Debuchy (Vlaar, Dummett)
Mata / Ramsey / Fabregas / Sterling (Grealish)
    Rooney / Giroud / Bent

Haha that lump tank hasn't had any pre season action as far as I'm aware, maybe that's where the O.P. is coming from

First draft.... after saying initially I wouldn't put myself through another year of rushing to computer to check captain choice before 11:30am on a Saturday:)
The lure of hoping for a West Brom clean sheet in February sucked me back in!

    De Gea Myhill
    F.Luiz Debuchy Lovren Cameron Wisdom
    Hazard Mata Ramsey Johnson(Sun) Siggy
    Rooney Giroud Bojan
    Very quick pick!

Any positive or negative thoughts or downright abuse accepted!:)
    B.L.
ps- kinda sceptical on Lovren so alternatives appreciated that will keep clean sheets.
