23 mil spent. That's a decent stab for a first team IMO. Players are underpriced compared to other seasons IMO.

You're not sure about Rooney? With there opening 8 fixtures and RVP not fit yet you'd be mad not to.

I don't think I'd go with Cech. Once Courtois is fit I think he'll be the number 1 for the season.

Too much Liverpool, and that's coming from a Pool fan. Wouldn't have anyone from Liverpool's defence to begin with as we have a tough start. Lambert is only going to be a bit player/impact sub so wouldn't fancy having him in my front 3! Coutinho is a good option though.

Thoughts?

Some points to note;
- Vlaar and Bartley selected to interchange with Lovren/Bardsley for difficult fixtures at start of season.
- Slightly worried about Chelsea's overload of central defenders so went with Luis ahead of Terry.

Lukaku is injured/not match fit for the first few games. He won't be starting. Naismith will.

And maybe I should of been more clearer, this was for the first 3 games until the international break where I will intend to ship him out

Have Coutinho as well going into GW1. Although that's as much down to finding it hard to decide who to pick from the off with a max price of 8M. Personally think Liverpool will score a lot of goals again, so Sterling/Coutinho AND Sturridge could prove good value, if not straight away, then certainly from GW4 when they have a very tempting fixture list right up to around GW15

The thing I like about this team is being able to rotate Bojan and Sigurdsson depending on fixtures. It contains very few differentials though, and am beginning to think I should move some money around and try to get Costa in for Dzeko. Any thoughts would be great.

Me too, one of my better choices last season.
But I would not rule him out just because he was cheap last season and relatively expensive this season.
If he scores lots then his 8.5 could be worth it.

However, I have doubts. He did blow hot and cold last season and flattered to deceive in the world cup.
He always strikes me as a player who does well when the team is doing well, but when the pressure is on he does not do much IMO.
I will be putting him on my watch list for a while before deciding to put him in my team.

Not a chance. Sterling was a steal for me last season when I paid somewhere around the 4.5-5 mark for him. No way am I spending 8.5m. (Cue Sterling scoring a heap. :pac:)

The Studge/Rooney/Costa trifecta is a thing of beauty but I can't bring myself to do it. Though Sturridge is definitely in my plans for the season!

That's my option for 'coverage', problem is I expect Sturridge to get the goals and the assists to be spread around (coutinho/Gerrard/Hendo/full backs). €3m is handy but not much use if Sturridge goes nuts.

The Sturridge option also appeals as he can become Aguero in one transfer.

Be careful with Myhill starting, it's hard to tell whether he'll be in the first eleven. If you can make room for about 0.5 mil and rotate a starting 4.5 GK with Krul, that'd give you peace of mind...

Lamela appeals but the set-pieces of Eriksen and late season form are hard to ignore. King is my placeholder mid who could be anyone before Saturday.

Forwards: Costa, Rooney, Sturridge. It should be money well spent. Well it'll have to be if I'm to do well as lets be honest the rest of the team is poorer because of it. As the wise man Homer J Simpson once said "You don't win friends with salad" and that front 3 is full on steak to "balance's" salad

I like it - for one main reason - Sturridge. I really see people either taking a hit or using WC week 3 to get him in for GW4 onwards - there will be panic ahead of Villa at home i reckon.

I'm really not sure what to do liverpool wise in this regard. GW 2 & 3 fixtures aren't very good, but they could easily score a few while drawing/losing.
