Maybe we could have a separate thread where all the lads who like pretending to be cops, with their online tax and mot checks, can play? :D:D:D

Ye can have guns and badges too! It'll be great gas...:P:P

Leave this thread for the cars?

    You're welcome.

Photoshop the UK tax discs out too while you're at it.:P

Wont be relevant much longer as UK Tax Discs will no longer be issued from 1st October 2014 (all UK vehicles to be taxed online from 1/10/14).

That I'm aware of. No requirement to display as Section 33 of VERA 1994 will be removed.

So except for viewers in Northern Ireland (who will still have to show a MOT disc). Clear screens available to the rest of the UK. (Roll on January, when the Driving Licence counterpart can go in the bin too.)

Found these old photos in the family albums this evening My Dad still remembered it, a 1978 Vauxhall Chevette, he still has the logbook belonging to this.

Mods, if it isn't appropriate for this thread do please remove it.

Another photograph from a family holiday in Kerry. The red car was another belonging to my Dad, which unsurprisingly he could name and date just after looking at the photo. 1980 Toyota Corolla. It rotted away on my uncle's farm in the late 80s/early 90s, I remember sitting in it and pretending to drive as a kid.

I saw a Lancia Aurelia on the way in to work this morning, Bray area, navy blue. Gorgeous looking.
It was on Belgian plates "55 B 20", I think they're the historic plates - red on white.

    It has to be this....

I saw a large 30s era vintage car in blue on Dame St in Dublin this lunchtime. Alas didn't manage to get my phone out in time. Looked like an English reg and possibly a Rolls. Anybody else spot this?

I saw this car yesterday morning leaving Cavan on a back road. Saw a few more pre-war cars at the same time and saw that they were all sporting a Turas Mile Mile plaque.
Turned out to be a rally organised by the Wolseley club of Ireland with the last stage from Cavan to Powerscourt in Wicklow.
Certainly looked like fun in the perfect sunny weather, especially the few open tourers.

Saw the 30's Roller, parked on Pearse St.

That B20 reg + RHD = Aussie plate

Saw 600 ZA E-type V12 on Sussex Road - photo to follow

While looking for the Aussie reg. I came across this - https://www.vplates.com.au/ along with possibly cheap tax they let you personalise your plates. Ireland +20 years they'll cop on :o

Loved the rugged look to both of these. And the BZC reg on the Minor. Not often you see old reg plates like that. I think the Minor might be a runner - it looks like it got here under its own steam. Looks like something you would see on the roads 30 odd years ago.

The Aurelia is owned by a Belgian, and has a Belgian registration plate. It's also a 1954 model.

Fair play to ya, there was some strange Belgian plates over the years that I never understood so that plate would fall into that catagory.51-62 plate styles http://www.worldlicenseplates.com/world/EU_BELG.html

Pic of the E-type plus some others from the week

that's the one alright swarlb! It wasn't bearing any rally plates or numbers when I saw it. A RHD model must be not too common..

All the other Aurelias I've seen here were RHD. Quite a lot of Italian cars of the 50's were RHD, even those sold in Italy.

spotted a Scimitar SE4 (or maybe a SE4a/b) on the way in to work this morning, along the same road that I saw the Aurelia recently.
I had to google it, as I've never seen one in the flesh. Silver coloured, English J reg (so 1970/71), nice looking car.
no pic as I was on the bike

Ive relocated to southern Austria for the next year. Went out for a quick cycle the other night and found this group all in the car park of a preety fancy hotel on the lake. All the cars had a thick layer of dirt so they'd obviously road triped down from Germany which must have been some sight. I would have got better pics but a burly security put an end to that :o
