^^^^ regarding the 'Creans Brewery' van, IIRC that type of van is/was built in the UK utilising a (modern) Ford Transit chassis.

Transit was the first one that came up my mind. It definitely isn't a classic at all.

Front of the beetle doesn't look so bad.

That wing though...ought to be laws against stuff like that.

it might have some aerodynamic effect at higher speeds ... well, if that car is able to achieve such speeds of course :D

Volvo 300 is either MY84 or MY85 1.4 CVT, the auto was only ever attached to the 1.4

That's horrific. It should be in the skanger thread.

The green Golf on the other side looks a lot nicer except for the front reg. plate.

  • Registered Users Posts: 81 ✭✭rubin_spitfire

Ridiculous, defeats the whole purpose of a pick up.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,563 ✭✭✭Blue850

I think it looks ok, put a tailgate on and corner pieces back on the front bumper and it'd look great, the green Golf without bumpers looks rough though.

Ridiculous, defeats the whole purpose of a pick up.

I get the feeling that that was the whole point?

Anyway, fair play. Its unique and is obviously loved. No 3 year old korean piece of dung for this guy.

Why ?? ..... its in great nick and better than most of the ****e that floats around the Irish 'classic' circuit

You are obviously too old to understand what you are looking at!

Because of the shiny paint or colour??

Why would someone remove the tailgate? And the smoothed bed floor looks odd. And the colour is crap.

    Yap.

But I too can't fathom why someone would do that to a work vehicle though?

Maybe I'm too old, I'm 5 years off my 30th, but I just don't get the whole scene thing.

  • Registered Users Posts: 114 ✭✭type85

ah its been a few years since a caddy could be regarded as a "work vehicle"
Thats a bit like compairing a Massey 35 to a 3600. Yes in its day it was a light commercial but the today vw equivalent would be transporter pickup. 2x faster, 2x load capacity

As for the whole scene thing, its a bit like you dressing nice for a night out you get dressed for the place your going, people like to dress their cars for the places they like to hang out

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,499 ✭✭✭Capri

I won't say where I am regarding my 30th birthday  but the VW scene is huge

Cheap to start from, plenty of parts and support, bullet proof build quality - what's not to like

And you are posting in the classic section? Ok, I get the whole "i dont like the colour' thing, but if you dont 'get it', why comment?

As for the "5 years off my 30th" thing, why the puzzle? You're 25. Most people will understand that on it own.
