Thinking of selling my JLC to fund a new purchase

I have no idea what other watches you own. But I'm pretty confident that if I had your collection, whatever's in it, that's not the watch I'd be removing. Beautiful watch, there'll be one lucky buyer.

You are right, its a stunner. Unfortunatly it gets no wrist time, and I am not really in a position to wear leather strap watches much (formal occasions and nights out are few and far between). Yes whoever gets it is lucky, but would rather it goes to a good home where it gets the wear it deserves.

@Fitz II: that is a beautiful piece.

That is a very pragmatic description and positioning.

However, I fear it will do little to dissuade the usual ****wittery.

I sent my Mark II to a mate to have it properly serviced. He has a back log. I miss it terribly.

I think I have something in my eye.

I've had a lot of fun with this, but dressy watches are not for me, so...thinking of moving it on. It's a Rolex Datejust 16233 two-tone, from 1995 (bought in Hong Kong), serviced this time last year, in great condition (including the bracelet). All box and papers present and correct.

I think I'll put it on for €5,500, and of course a better price for anyone on here. It'd make a great Christmas present...

On another note, I tried on this watch last year (it's being sold by WatchesNorte in Spain where I've a bought a few watches) when I was in his office. A lot of money - a different level of watch obsession there to pay that much.

    Hi folks,
I'm after something in a Seiko dive watch for my son for Xmas. Around 40mm size, blue dial, pepsi bezel maybe. Saphire glass would be nice and any auto. He's looking at the seiko 5s or orient's. I'd rather buy good used condition if anyone has anything going.
    Cheer's,
    Mick

Might be thrown out of the forum for suggesting this but would you be better off going the Chinese route here. A lot use the nh movements and you will get sapphire and ceramic bezel in most instances. An unbranded Pepsi parnis comes in 40mm

I have the orient Pepsi myself and its a lovely watch, lack of sapphire would be the only downside

Seiko divers with sapphire crystal are typically the more up market ones, around €1000. What's your budget?

Mick, is it definitely a dive watch you're after? I've a brand new blue dial cocktail time sitting in the drawer doing nothing if you're interested? Fits 2/4 of the criteria - almost a Meatloaf song :pac:

Does it have to be Seiko? Am selling my Pagani Batman

Some of the Orients have sapphire.

2nd one ticks the boxes of Blue dial and Pepesi bezel. It looks a well finished watch for the money but I'm not sure I can see past the Orient logo. Not sure about the muffin hour marker at 4 either but I prefer the 4 O'clock crown than the one at 3.

Edit: Spotted this on adverts too. Not a Seiko but has a NH36 movement.

    Postage to Ireland?

Postage is reasonable, could be hit with customs though. I do have a 38mm orange dial myself which I'm considering selling, so if you end up stuck, do let me know.

Have this myself far superior to the Seiko 5's IMO.

what might you have for sale in the future?

Apologies, well quite a variety ultimately. I need to start thinning out the collection so I'll get round to some snaps and post them up here. But above, specifically an Islander 38mm. Also a Seiko SARX045 and Tudor BB58. Though I haven't yet read the rules so apologies if just firing all of that in there broke some.
