With all due respect to him, and I have every sympathy for the man and family/friends of Jill Meagher but what is the point of this interview? What message are they trying to give out or achieve. Sorry if that's insensitive it's just the constant bombardment of misery porn by RTE radio and tv is starting to annoy me.

I think this interview is more important than anything any celebrity has to say.

Adrian Ernest Bayley had committed something like 20 rapes before Jill Meagher.
    Hardly an "ordinary person"!

    OK, 16, not 20...
    My point stands, though.

That reminds me of the guy who met a much older woman at the nightclub. She asked him to come home with her. He wasn't too keen because she was much much older than him. She promised him a threesome, a mother and daughter thing;). He agreed. When they reached her house, she opened the front door and shouted up the stairs: "MAMMY, ARE YOU AWAKE?.............:D

I think if you do 1 rape and then when you are released commit another it should be instant lifelong sentence or defluting.

Tom reminds me of John McAreavey, both have suffered unimaginable loss but yet they're so dignified.

I'm convinced that the LLS researchers are a bunch of sadists. They go scouring the newspapers during the week to find the most depressing and miserable stories and then inflict them upon us on a Friday night. I bet they rang up Michelle Heaton within minutes of reading about her story in the press during the week, although in fairness to her, it's the only way she can get a gig in the media these days.

I think this case is far worse..

There are a lot of similarities with the Manuela Riedo case here.

I dread to think how soon they made contact with the Young Man's family who died after the Neknomination incident a few months ago.

At least someone is behind bars for Jill's death, there has been no justice in the McAreavey case.

This guy is far more genuine than John McAreavey, whom I liked not a lot!

What about men being violent to men?
Or women being violent to women or men?

It's a very odd campaign.. There's a huge difference between men who have a penchant for misogyny and men who have a penchant for rape/murder..

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,067 ✭✭✭sok2005

Really good idea with the campaign in my opinion. Put real good men who treat women with respect on a pedestal.

    I know right.

I wonder if a campaign focused towards a minority would be as tolerated?
e.g "Black males stop robbing so much. Only you can stop this crime!"

  • Registered Users Posts: 21,886 ✭✭✭✭Roger_007

Imagine having to state that the vast majority of men are OK...........?

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,176 ✭✭✭dee_mc

I've no doubt the people behind this campaign mean well... but I don't get it. I don't get how it's meant to work.
