Nice Gin actually, they took the 48 hour offer from nappies/washing powder to gin all of a sudden..thought they would keep the offer on practical household things tbh...

    Thought as much!

Doing a bit of rooting around,I found supervalu are doing 2 x 12 packs of 500ml bulmers for €25(offer expires today)that will do me.

I prefer to go to Temple Bar and pay €8 for a pint of Bulmers. So you can get the same amount of booze for €192.

I can't remember the app/website that used to bring up the bargains in all the retailers. I need three bottles of champagne for presents this weekend, any idea where the best value is outside the German discount stores

Picked up some of the Steam Brew in Lidl yesterday (7.8%), 4 cans for 6e - surprisingly nice. There is definitely grapefruit or something blended with it, very easy to drink and tastes good. Was floating after 3 cans :D

Found it in my app library under apps not installed, it was called Tipple. You put in your location and it brought up the local off licences including supermarkets and you selected drink type and it brought up the offers. From the latest review it looks like it died last year. Must have been why I uninstalled it.

Went in today and there wasn’t a single can of it to be had, had to settle for 2 bottles of Vauchay (it’s 7.2 but rotten orange taste off it) :( . Stop bulk buying you ****s, some of us like to buy normal amounts

Any bulmers slabs deals at the moment?

The local centra doesn’t have the deal mentioned above.

If you like Aperol, from Monday LIDL will have an Italian specials week, "Bitterol Aperitivo" clocks in at €7.99 for 700ml.

Also in store now for Father's Day is award winning Queen Margot 8 year old blended Scotch whisky at €18.99.

Have they changed the recipe for Carlesberg recently? I picked it up when it was 20 euro for 24 and couldn't stomach more than a few of them whereas it's normally grand most of the night as long as it's cold.

    Suicidal marketing strategy.

"Remember when we told you our old beer was great? Well we were lying! But our new one really is great and you can totally believe us now!"

    And, 3.8%??

    Life ain't always empty.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,077 ✭✭✭Mervyn Skidmore

The UK version was always 3.8% I think, and it was always awful.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,276 ✭✭✭prodsc

The Irish beer is 4.3%, not sure if the recipe has changed.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,351 ✭✭✭Cloudio9

The UK version was always 3.8% I think, and it was always awful.

And the Danish version is probably something else again.

Dutch Heineken is 5% but somebody somewhere decided that standard Irish beer strength is 4.3% and now people think anything below that is piss and above it is rocket fuel.
