If we beat Everton and Southampton away I will eat my hat

Probably a better chance then beating them at home the way our home/away form is.

I don't think so. Its a recognisable brand and a fairly un-obnoxious logo, once the players wear it on the jersey we'll get used to it.

What even is Aon? Car insurance?

    Wasn't Ole a L*******l fan?

Yeah he was. So I guess it makes no difference. He was in the Chelsea academy was he not when he was younger and got released I think.

So maybe that has left a bitter taste in his mouth I,hope it has if he was in there academy.Would love him at United be just what we need to replace Evra if he is on his way out and would sort out that position for the next god knows how many years.

My bad should have done my research before I put up that post. I just could have sworn I read somewhere he was in the Chelsea academy at one time, but not so he has been at Southampton since he was 8.

I know now what I read about him and Chelsea. They turned him down when he was 8 so I was sort of right with my first post. Haha. Still hope it has left a bitter taste in his mouth even if it was a long time ago and he was only 8. Just hope the supporting Chelsea part won't be what makes him join them and that he stopped supporting after what they did :)

I've noticed a few journos are saying Chelsea are worried about FFP regulations and might have to sell to fund any incoming transfers post season. If that's true you would imagine they wouldn't want to spend £25m on a position they're already sorted in. Hopefully anyway!

Chelsea could field a decent starting 11 with their loanees.

I have a feeling we'll see a lot more players going on loan because of FFP.

Loan them out so it takes them off the wage bill, hopefully they play well so you can sell them for a profit.

This made me laugh out loud on Redcafe (Wrestlemania)...
Every year under Fergie, Undertaker retained the streak, Moyes' first year in and Taker loses! Another record broken.

He was just posting a funny comment. I don't think he meant to spoil anything. He probably just assumed nobody would care about a wrestling spoiler because...ye know...we are mostly adults here. :P

He posted a spoiler, in a thread utterly unconnected with the subject matter - as soon as it fecking happened! Could have at least waited til tuesday. It was an utter dick move. Game of Thrones season 4 kicked off last night - guess I'll just post the synopsis in various threads around boards.ie.

1st rule of not getting wrestling spoilers is don't go onto boards or search anything that could be related I'd have thought. Even the OT thread has stuff alluding to it.

Especially seeing as how the SF is very heavy with posters in the wrestling forum.

I'm just shocked that people still watch wrestling.

Why? How's it different to any other scripted tv show out there?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,084 ✭✭✭✭Kirby

Depends on the show. It's no different to the Hills or Jersey Shore....in that its badly written and not believable. It's very different to the Wire as that's excellently written and quite believable.

Spoiling the wrestling and spoiling Game of Thrones as Mitch mentioned aren't exactly the same thing. One is a ten episode epic once a year. Another is akin to a soap. It's on all year round, and never ends.

Except WrestleMania is their BIG event - where the major storylines begin and end - it is the World Cup final or Super Bowl of wrestling, so it isn't like spoiling what happened on one of the run of the mill Raw or Smackdown shows. It is spoiling the biggest result of the biggest event of the year. DICK. MOVE.

Yeah I suppose when you put it like that.

I have seen a lot of ads for it recently and a friend of mine watches it every year so I suppose it is a big deal in the wrestling world.

Maybe he can edit or a mod can to save anyone who hasn't seen it yet. This thread see's a lot of traffic so the sooner the better I guess.

How many times a year is a packed out stadium event that features
the highest grossing actor in hollywood currently
in an institution that is 30 years old for the only time it'll ever be and that a lot of people grew up watching?

I could spoil every episode of game of thrones for the next 3 seasons and probably give people a better idea of the story the writer wanted to tell than the show does, so how is one superior to the other? You're talking out of your hoop.

One is well written and the other isn't. If you are honestly claiming that the writing for the wrestling is superior to the wire........I think you need to re-examine that hoop comment. Oh, and I'd stay away from the television forum with an opinion like that. They will lynch you! :p

Yeah was a dick move to ruin wrestlemania before I had a chance to get back tonight and watch it, I wasn't expecting to hear about it on a United thread.

Did I say this? One is an entertainment show and one is social commentary, they couldn't be more different, you just put the wire in there for no reason. I found the show last night to be better written than most of the GoT episode I watched right after.

We should probably take this to the OT thread though so if you are going to reply do so there please.
