Sorry to hear about the hip tang. Hopefully you can get it sorted soon

Hope you are on the mend soon, bad enough that you can't run but when it's effecting everyday live it's a right dose.

Not good B. Sorry to hear that. What's the physio been saying so far? Sounds like MRI might be the way to go here to see exactly what's going on under the bonnet.
You've had a real dose of bad luck these last couple of years.

They said it was a pelvis alignment issue, the hip has gotten worse since i started seeing them & i've started getting the odd pain in my back. I wont be going back again, think MRI maybe the best thing to see whats 'going on under the bonnet' as you say.

Jaysus Tang if it wasn't for bad luck you've have no luck. Hopefully you get to the bottom of this and you get it sorted soon. You deserve a break injury wise.

I would definitely ditch that physio and get a second opinion. I had the same experience with a well renowned phsyio and it cost me a fortune, he sent me for an MRI eventually and it turned up all clear (cost me the guts of €1000 though ).
Turned out to be a muscular issue that was relieved with a bit of massage. If you know of a good Sports or Physical therapist in your area I would go there before booking an MRI, they tend to be hands on than a traditional physiotherapist. In Dublin i would recommend Ciaran Fitzpatrick or Ecoli, I am sure there are good guys in meath too though.

The thing about the physio i was seeing is i told them where the pain or discomfort was located but not once did they massage or manipulate that area, they just concentrated on my lower back area and worked there. Now i'm far from an expert on these things, but i thought maybe massaging/rubbing the affected area would be the first place to start to see what/where the problem is.

I would recommend that you try Mark Kenneally in Celbridge. Great interest in running injuries and I found him to be wonderful for a hip problem that I had.

yes, I was going to actually suggest Mark. I have heard very good things about him too. Main thing is to get a second opinion before shelling out for an MRI

That's funny. When I was getting the rub down after the AR on Saturday I told the guy who was doing it thatI was having trouble with my left hip. He stood me up, examined my hips, told me the right one was 'tilted anteriorly' and that I needed work on all the muscles on the right side

Mark is really good, with a great interest in running injuries and is also a very nice guy too. No point in wasting money on someone you have little faith in, been there before!!

Bit late to the party but another vote for Mark Kenneally - was with him a few times this year and he is really thorough and knows his stuff.

Can't believe you're injured again Tang, really rotten luck. Not much I can say apart from I hope you can get back on the road soon.

Update - have a stress fracture in both my hips. Thems the breaks, could be far worse, all i can do is be patient and let things heal. Nothing else can be done with stress fractures only rest, no running for 4-6 weeks, no training of any kind for at least 4 weeks. Hopefully be back chasing my self come New Year, adios from here till then.

Good luck with the recovery B. Look forward to reading of the comeback really soon.

Jesus that's desperately unlucky. Hopefully you make a quick and full recovery. Never heard of someone getting an injury like that, either you're running style is worse than mine, or you were doing Elvis pelvic twists at the weekend :)

Seriously, puts a bad race into perspective, at least I can still run.

    Best of luck Tang

Possibly compensating with my running stride after coming back from knee surgery. It put more pressure on my hips resulting in the stress fractures.
