Injury update - no running since last post and none till next Wednesday at earliest. Was with physio today who poked, kneaded and pulled the living sh!te out of me. The hips are far looser but physio still feels theres alot of tightness there.

Cycled over 700km in Clare last week, climbing Corker & Corkscrew Hill and Slieve Elva and Cliffs of Moher on several occasions so i haven't been totally idle.

Physio again in the morning so i'll see from there, i can still feel the hip niggling every now & then just walking so its not 100% yet. No other fitness activity since either, currently nursing the deadly disease that is man-flu. In a fever addled stupor for past week or so, nearly went into the light a few times!!

I never had man flu but I don't think I'd be able to handle it in all honesty, being a woman and all you know.. .. get well soon and hope physio goes well tomorrow.

More poking, pulling & kneading yesterday with the physio. Makes me wonder at times why we pay to get it done, TbL i understand paying cause hes kinky!! Physio wants me to leave it till next week now till i run, i wouldn't be happy if she said i could run as there is still pain in the hip.

Had only left the physio when my Dad rang, my mother fell while painting yesterday and broke her wrist in three places and broke her hip to. Spent day in A&E yesterday with her, she has to have the hip completely replaced cause of arthritis. Heres me complaining of a dose of man-flu and a niggle in my hip!!

Your poor mum. Best wishes for her recovery. I know a couple of people who have had total hip replacements and they've been very pleased with the outcome post op. Hopefully your mum will be the same

Spent yesterday marshaling at the Athlone 3/4 Marathon, i should have wrapped up warmer as my near death case of 'manflu' has turned into a nasty chest infection and a septic throat. I was due another physio appointment in the morning but i've knocked that on the head.

My hip pain is getting worse even with no physical activity, i'm finding sleeping at night uncomfortable as the side i have the pain is normally the side i sleep on. Also driving any distance now is uncomfortable. I cant even give the little lad a piggy-back anymore cause of it. Might be time for an MRI or something, i dont know to be honest. Might give this log a rest for a while and report back if i have any improvement.
