Oh, so sad to hear that, but on their website they said they will paid for the extra charges. Will you contact them ?
Yeah in fairness they had warned me when the package got held by customs I could be charged and that they would reimburse me for it. I got in touch with them today and they said they will try paying the charge directly and if that doesn't work if could I pay it and they would reimburse me

Ok everybody. Just taught I would give my experience of eglobal so far. I ordered a Canon EOS 70D Body Only Digital SLR Camera & a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM Lens on the 28/10/14 for 1289euro. Got a e-mail on the 29/10/14 saying order was being processed. An e-mail on the 30/10/14 saying that the item was being dispatched soon and another one on the 31/10/14 saying that the item had been picked up. I did not receive any tracking number or any other e-mails. I was getting a bit worried yesterday 04/10/14 so I decided to contact them. Received a e-mail this morning with tracking number and saying that item was on it way. Looks like I should receive it today. It looks like its shipping from the UK. See below tracking record:

    Location Date Local Time Activity
Dublin, Ireland 11/05/2014 4:27 A.M. Out For Delivery
    11/05/2014 4:27 A.M. Import Scan

    11/03/2014 5:24 P.M. Origin Scan
United Kingdom 11/03/2014 11:40 A.M. Order Processed: Ready for UPS

Will let you all know tomorrow the condition of packaging etc.

On a side note: I ordered a lens off them about a month ago and after I received the e-mail that it had been picked up by the courier I realised I had ordered the wrong item. I contacted support and explained what had happened and I needed to cancel the order. Luckily the item had not left the country and they gave me a full refund. So all in all so far I have no complaints about this company. Hopefull that does not change today when I get my new camera.

Yes, thats right Adox, Im sure it will take me a few days to get to know it, but I will keep you informed. The main reason I upgraded to this was for the high ISO capabilities for low light stuff, so I hope I am not disappointed (well, thats my excuse and Im sticking to it:)). My present camera, Nikon D300s, anything above 800 iso looks like I had a tea bag over the lens!!!

    Hi Everyone,

My order arrived safe and sound. Looks like it did come from UK as you can see from the return address in the photos in the link below. It was very well packaged and there was no indication on the package of what the contents were. No declaration for customs or anything. I registered both the camera & lens on canon.ie website with no issues. Does anyone know how I can find out if I'm covered on a UK warranty seeing that it looks like it came from UK. By the way , I opted for the free shipping option on eglobal's site (not insured). Hope all my info is of benefit to some of you.

    Photos:

Apparently I am unable to include a link to photos as I am a new user. If you would like to view the photos, PM me and I will give you the dropbox link.

Hi Guys, I thought I'd share my experience with eglobal.

About two months ago I bought a Tamron 90mm lens off the site. I ordered it on a Wednesday night and was surprised to receive it a few days later, about 10am on a Saturday morning. Was very impressed with the shipping. The lens was packaged well and not damaged at all. Was a genuine product and worked perfectly!

Last month I decided that having sold my older Nikon camera I wanted to buy the Nikon D7100. I did so on a monday evening and the next morning I had received an email asking for proof of address. This involved me having to send proof for both my billing address and my delivery address as they were different. This worried me a little, however the camera arrived on Friday evening and was again packaged well and appeared to be brand new. They didn't give me the correct plug though, luckily I had an adapter at home. That was my only gripe.

Move on a few days when I start using the camera on a daily basis for my work. I began to notice that when focusing the lens would 'jump' out of place almost and make a weird clicking sound. At first I didn't really notice it but now that I've been using it more it seems to click in and out of place quite a bit when you focus in manual or automatic. It seems to happen when you half press down the shutter release button. When you look through the viewfinder you can see the area you're focusing on completely jump back and forth before it focuses.

I believe this is an issue with the camera and probably nothing to do with eglobal. However, I decided that because I'm within 30 days of buying it that I'd request a replacement camera as the issue has become more frequent.

I haven't heard anything back from the company but this is quite nerve racking as I don't know what to expect and haven't seen much reviews about returns and refunds/replacements.

I wonder would this be something I could fix by sending to Nikon?

I'll probably post back with an update at some stage.

    Saaron,

Wait to hear back from e-global or jump on their live chat and see what they say.
Like you said it's more a problem with the camera than e-global but i'd have good confidence they will help you out.
Keep up posted how you get on.

Logie-1 did you get your camera yet?

I'm going to purchase a GPS Running watch from e-global, they sent a 70euro off code a few months back, works till the end of the year.

D750 arrived today, no issues with extra charges:) I am only after opening the box and have the battery on charge, everything looks great except the users manual which is in Chinese:( but I'm sure I will find any info I need on the net.

I saved over £400 so a small price to pay.

    Overall, very happy so far.

Just an update on my previous post. Having messaged eglobal for over a week about a fault with my camera they eventually agreed to allow me to return it to them to evaluate whether I should be given a replacement camera. If it was found to be working properly I would have only had to pay for the shipping cost to return it. They were going to organise a courier to collect the camera from me.

During that time I had also messaged Nikon who helped me find the cause of the problem which stupidly turned out to be the Tamron lens that I had also bought from eglobal. The VR function on the lens had suddenly stopped working properly, which is strange because it worked perfectly on my previous camera so it hadn't even crossed my mind to turn this off. Because of this I was happy not to have to return the camera which is now back to working perfectly and glad I didn't send it back because it would have been a complete waste of their time.
I won't be returning the lens because it works fine when I turn the VR setting off and wasn't a fault related to eglobal.

In the mean time because this issue was resolved I felt happy to use eglobal again to buy a 35mm lens as a christmas present. It's currently being shipped to me now.

All in all I'm still impressed with this company and will continue to buy from them :)

Edit: I should also add that once the issue with my Nikon D7100 was resolved I was able to go ahead and register it on the Nikon Uk & Ireland website. I wasn't sure I'd be able to do this as the camera came from China. Hopefully the warranty will be valid if I ever need to use it.

What Tamron lens is it? Is it a compatibility issue with the camera body or just a fault that developed with the lens.

    Cheers.

Hi, it's a tamron 90mm macro lens. I don't know if it's a compatibility issue or not, but it worked fine with my previous D7000. I'm going to go into a camera shop when I get time and ask about it. With the VR function turned off it hasn't any issues though.

Not sure where you are located Saaron but I Electron Cork would be able to repair the lens for you

    Quoting from their webpage
    At I-Electron, we specialise In:

Anybody ordered laptop from here? Macbook Pro is 1599 on it which is a couple of hundred less than apple site

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,760 ✭✭✭Effects

I thought Apple had all that sort of pricing under control. Might be a nightmare if you had a problem with the macbook, which seems to happen often enough.

I ordered a phone from this company on Sunday evening last (16/11) and it was delivered on Friday 21st. Nothing extra payable on delivery (phone was €174). Tracking information email received early Friday morning. Very impressed with the service. Delivery was from China and it was wrapped in a ton of bubble wrap.
