    I ordered Saturday 22nd.

Looks like great service so far. They must also have a UK distrubition centre.

Ill update tomorrow as I'd be expeceting to get a phone call from UPC regarding dropoff.

OK so as I said - most skeptical person about this and was very worried.
But it was mentioned a few pages back, if you're not willing to pay the risks if it gets caught for customs - don't take the risk. Which I agree with.

With that in mind, I took the plunge - I had some issues with my bank and paypal that set me back a few days. I was then (as I thought) asked by E-Global to send proof of residence. I sent an old B&W copy of my (now expired) driving licence.
This would actually set me back another day, as they didn't allow this.
Their T&C's state they need a colour scan and it must show expiry.
So I sent them an updated version and waited a day nearly for them to approve it.
Jumped on their online chat and asked what the delay was - got a "hold on let me check the status" then it was immediately approved. Once this was done the ball started rolling, a lot faster than I thought.

I used the 10euro off coupon and during my paypal / bank issues the price had also dropped €10 - with that I decided to go with their express shipping 3-5 days.

It was Thursday (yesterday) when my order was approved and started, so I thought 3-5 days... maybe Mon...Tues latest? It arrived next day - today Friday.

Packaging and my tracking did state it contained batteries but the parcel itself did say DSLR.
I order a 5D Mark III Body Only - I had read here that they take out the kit lens and sell that separately which is fine.
So my box as I suspected is for the 5D with the 24-105L

They literally just opened the box to remove the Lens and they dropped in a 3 Pin plug for my battery.

I'm very happy with it. I would defo buy from them again, but I don't know how long their luck will last.
I can imagine after a while they will stop paying the customs if you get caught and provide proof.
They say they have a "special shipping arrangement" with their partner, so I'm not sure how long that will last. I know from this thread they did use UPS before, now it's DHL.

Anyway - sorry for the long post below are some pics to put anyone's mind at ease.
Maybe don't bother with the Express 3-5 shipping, unless you're in a rush.

Some pics (the lens was bought in Dublin)

Hope this long post helps someone in some way.

Finally got to use e-globalcentral.eu again after buying my camera.
Bought a €410 euro watch for €270 on eglobal.
Arrived today, no issues at all.

When you get stuff delivered to a work address, does this cause problems if they insist on validating you ? I'm led to believe that they often require proof of ID and address etc. How would you send proof of a work address?

i ordered a galaxy s5 dual sim last friday night for €415 (an absolute steal compared to everywhere else). Anyway I received the parcel today, i was pleasantly shocked that it came so soon all the way from Hong Kong. Am i out of the woods yet in regard to customs or is there a chance i'll get a scary letter in the coming days/weeks? I don't wanna count my chickens, but looking good so far :)
Also a bit paranoid posting it here, hoping there's no way they're monitoring this

Well I can't believe it! UPS website shows out for delivery. Ordered Saturday evening, due to arrive on Friday. Amazing!! (As I haven't actually got it in my hand yet I'll keep my fingers crossed I don't get stung with a VAT bill)

Please read my experience before you think of purchasing from this site !!!!!

    7 Reviews

Do not be fooled by this company !!!!!!!!!
Do you not question all the fantastic reviews of this company on Trust Pilot. Looks like a good company to deal with. ONLY IF YOUR DEVICE IS IN WORKING ORDER WHEN YOU RECEIVE IT. I personally think that a number of these reviews are not accurate. Note the reviews that have been deleted and under investigation these could be the negative reviews. Take a look at the UK reviews many deleted there. Below please read the experience I am having with this company. This review has now been published in the UK.
DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS WEBSITE
    ZERO STARS
Do not be fooled by this company. I purchased a Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 for £295.00. I mistakenly ordered from them thinking it was a website I had used before so did not make my usual checks. I tried to cancel the transaction within 15 minutes of my online purchase but could not open the links. They say in there CANCELLATION POLICY" you can only cancel your order when it is still in processing link" by SUBMITTING A TICKET or LIVECHAT" The links would not open so I was unable to do this I had no option but to wait for its arrival. The device arrived within days from China. The invoice was for Camera Parts £11 no serial number of the device nor mention of the device I purchased . I also had no written Warranty nor Terms and Conditions. This suggests at any time they can change these terms. Within a week I could see the device had a fault. I contacted Samsung UK for guidance as I thought then it was my 74 year old brain not understanding the technology of the device. They saw a problem straight away and went into it remotely and found a fault in the software. I told them it came from China but they assured me it still came under there uk warranty. The Tablet was returned to Samsung UK for repair but was returned to me in a few days untouched. It seems that no registered Samsung engineer is allowed to repair it because it comes from outside the EU nor can I ever have it repaired in the UK even if it is out of Warranty. Also the system is different as those in UK. THIS IS NOT MENTIONED IN THERE TERMS AND CONDITIONS. Very unfair and misleading. I have been in touch with eglobal on numerous occasions to ask for a full refund and for them to arrange for the Tablet to be picked up at there expense. They refused me this request. I appreciate that these terms are written in there warranty and terms and conditions that it can only be repaired in China and that you have to pay carriage which is only refunded if the fault comes under there warranty. This may not be so as I have read in a review that an item returned was sent back to buyer saying there was nothing wrong with it and they had to pay all costs. At the time of the review they had not received any refunds. eGlobal informed me that they will not give me a refund nor pay for return to them. I feel that this is unjust and limits my consumer rights as I was prevented from contacting them to cancel transaction within 15mins also the device was found faulty within two weeks of delivery. I have refused to return it for repair at the risk of them keeping it for weeks then charging extras. I have submitted a RMA ticket. They still insist I return it to them at my expense and promise me a refund if the fault comes under there warranty. I have seen on independent reviews that this will not happen. For this reason the matter has been taken up by my credit card company under Section 75 of the consumer credit act. I have also sought legal advice regarding my consumer rights as they say that eGlobal are restricting my rights as a consumer. I am following there instructions. Hopefully this will all be resolved in my favour. No way will I return it to them, I may never get it back. or incur more costs. So please do not be temped to buy from eGlobal. There policies are unjust and all there terms and conditions are in there favour. Always check all the small print !!!!!!!!!

But if theres a fault with the phone surely you have to return it to them for the issue to be resolved?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10 Barelie

I have been advised by my bank, who is investigating this case, not to return tablet for repair. Many have done this and devices have been returned after many weeks by eglobal saying nothing wrong and consumers have been faced with more charges. I have also taken legal advice as they have also breached contract by preventing me from canceling transaction before order was processed. I tried to cancel because of all the bad reviews I read when I realized I had mistakenly confused this website with another I had used previously.
There are many other reasons for my decision. I am not prepared to put this in writing as they could be termed as accusations. I have kept all proof of there unfair practices. As I said in my post. You all need to read all the negative reviews both in trust pilot and independent review sites to understand my decision.

As with anything that is too good to be true, there is often a consequence.

Although I have not bought from eGlobal, I did buy a tablet from another well known Asian company. As you have described, I too had a problem which required a return. Despite sending registered post with proof of delivery, they never acknowledged that they got the return. Last I ever saw of the tablet and the last time I ever bought from them.

There is a definitely a risk where there is a defective item. You do need to return it, but no guarantee that you will ever get it back.

Another issue is that a claim from your credit card company must be initiated within 120 days or so (I'm not exactly sure of this time). Not much use if you come across a failure at some point in the future.

You pay your money and you take your chances.

Despite being sorely tempted to buy a DSLR from eGlobal, I am twice shy about handing over a large quantity of money.

I see I see a lot of bad reviews saying people received phones with broken seals, maybe i got lucky but mine was fully sealed and very well packaged with tons of bubble wrap around it. No problems at all so far. Still amazed it arrived so quickly, puts a lot of Irish online retailers to shame..

Its comforting to know that others make the same mistake as me. I am over 70 so not familiar with all these fraudulent websites. All I can say is that I am not prepared for this company to get away with there unfair practices.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,038 ✭✭✭✭adox

Fraudulent website is quite a strong term.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10 Barelie

I withdraw the term fraudulent website read the reviews and form your own opinion. All I say I have the proof. AI am a very angry consumer of over 70.

Did anyone get a call from your bank about the transaction on the credit card?? To verify it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 256 ✭✭Echoes675

So, just to let anyone that's interested know, my camera arrived today. No additional charges and all is working fine so far. Here's hoping nothing does go wrong. I am happy with my purchase however, and would be inclined to order from them again.

Also, again for those that are interested, I'll get a review of the Nikon D750 posted after I get a chance to use it with my new 24-70mm lens.

    :-D

Also for who may be interested, I ordered a dslr and a separate lens last Sunday.

Arrived on Thursday, well packaged and working as expected.

I was prepared to pay the duty should it come down to it but instead it got delivered from the UK so all good and no extra cost.

Will not hesitate to buy from again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10 Barelie

To DrZeuss I wish you all the luck with your dslr. I hope you have no problems in the future.

Same as myself, my M8 was sealed and packed very well, no issues at all. Like others have said, there is a buying risk with this site as they're not paying VAT and customs which is why prices are much lower than anywhere else.

My advice is if you can't afford to take the risk, don't. And if you're concerned with warranties and returns then this site is probably not for you.

Yep need to agree with this, spent nearly €3,000 on eglobal so far and everything has been 100% . Zero problems thankfully.

Thank you all for your comments. I only wish that I was so fortunate. The only good thing I can say about eGlobal central uk is the packaging.

Lordy this wait is stressfull and, Since it was ordered Friday evening, nothing will be done till tomorrow but I'm checking my e-mails anyway.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,326 ✭✭✭Blingy

Got an email this morning to say my sale is being refunded but I don't know why. Can't seem to find the live chat on the website. Emailed but no response.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10 Barelie

Good news if they have given you a refund. Check that they have not deducted the £15 administration fee and carriage. And make sure you get it. I am thinking hopefully that this company is being investigated. I reported them for there unfair practices to the Hong Kong Consumer Council and the International Consumer Board. Not had any response but they may be looking into it.
Not sure what happened with your purchase did arrive faulty as mine did.
Mine is still being investigated by my bank will take weeks.
    Good luck
