IF Mata does sign it will be the first time in a few seasons United will have a fantasy football midfielder worth having ! Januzaj has been decent for a cheap midfielder this year but only just. Exciting times :)

yeah - and we all didnt have Valencia last year or Nani the year before ?

I brought in Remy for Lukaku, as I think he will have a better chance of scoring this week, Im also happy Coleman is injured this week so I will have a 3-5-2 formation with Colback playing.

If anyone's having a blinder for Newcastle this week, it's Cabaye and not Remy. :D

1 transfer remaining and .6 spare cash

Bony transfer was done earlier in the week,my 3 fit defenders are Clyne,Gabbidon & Sagna.I'm keeping Coleman but Chester is going,I'm loathe to taking a hit so should I keep him for another week bedamned? Problem is the Mata situation makes him tempting to get in.

Any idea what the story is with Clyne, is he a definite starter?

For some reason he appears to be out of favour or at least locked in a battle with Chambers for that position, surprises me as I'd been impressed with what I've seen of Clyne to date, I never had him but he seemed to have good attacking instincts, maybe that's not necessarily what the manager wants.
Anyway for the moment I would rate him as no more than 50% likely to start the next day.

It's an odd one with Clyne,he was flavour of the month but not so much anymore, great attacking full back.Looks like I may go shopping.Have 2.5 in the bank but might just go for the cheap option of Bruce.

Ya he's been extremely frustrating to have in the team this season.

There always seemed to be a transfer or two ahead of him.
He really p*ssed me off pre Christmas when his expected return date was next week, only to be pushed out and pushed out...

My own fault, I kept him in my WC team as I think he has great potential...but now he seems to be out of favour.

I am gonna cross my fingers and hope he starts, can't justify a 4 point hit for a defender.

So I'm considering either swap A:

Bardsley, Ozil & Adebayor out for Mariappa, Johnson & Aguero

    or B:

Coleman, Ozil & Rodriguez out for Mariappa, Johnson & Aguero

    Team at present:

    Szczesny Davis
    Coleman Terry Koscielny Chester Bardsley
    Ozil Hazard Lallana Yaya Livermore
    Suarez Adebayor Rodriguez

I'm honestly stuck. If I go for B, I'll rotate my remaining 3 (2 for the time being) defenders. If I go for A, I probably won't rotate the defenders. Anyone have any thoughts?

I'd go A, mainly because I'd want the Everton defensive coverage for the season.

Somebody please talk me out of taking a hit for Silva and Ozil out for Yaya and Wilshere!!

I just know if i make the move Silva and Ozil will both score well this week just to spite me!

Doesnt make sense to me. I have silva and ozil and I certainly wouldnt do it so if you go for it I hope they do spite you;). The more important question is, what would you be doing with the spare cash.

It would free up 3mil but i don't know what i'd do with it to be honest! I just feel the need to shift Ozil! He hasnt been bringing in the points lately to justify his price! Was going to hold off for Ramsey so maybe ill just bank the transfer this week.

Could always be exciting and move Chester out for Bruce ha!

Pellegrini has said that Silva is being rested for the FA cup game due to some small problem with his hamstring not serious though, just to give you some extra info to make your life harder :pac:

    cheeeeeers

To be honest Silva isnt my main concern, im only contemplating Yaya now out of frustration. Ive held out this long so think ive another sall bit of patience regards brining him in. Ozil is the one really causing me headaches!

It's much of a muchness, and when you factor in a -4 hit, I wouldn't do it. Are Yaya and Wilshire really likely to score 4 points more than Silva and Ozil? Don't think so.

If it were me, I would swap Ozil for Wilshire this week, and then decide on Yaya/Silva or another with next week's transfer.

Thinking about Silva out for Mata

United have Cardiff (h) Stoke (a) and Fulham (h)

City have Tottenham (a) Chelsea (h) and Norwich (a)

Tempting. They are around the same price but Mata will surely rise and could consider about swapping them back after.

    Thoughts?

Nope, had him too long to take the hit. Will get Chester out for another Hull defender this week and rotate with Ward until Coleman's back.

About 35k have got rid of him so far. I'm holding onto him if it's only short term.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,635 ✭✭✭miller82

    got him at 6.1 and i think he's 6.8 now i think ???
still a lot of money to be out for potentially 3 weeks

During FA Cup week it's criminal to make your transfer before all the cup games are finished. I know who I want to get in this week but don't want to have to take a hit if any of my regulars play and get injured.

Silva yellow flagged. Wonder what the story is now with him? That man is made of glass this season.

All of a sudden Mata becomes a long-term consideration.

Ozil has been a let down of late. I plan to give him two more weeks and will move him on then if he doesnt improve.I got ozil back in with the wildcard 2 weeks ago with the view to giving him 4 weeks so Im going to stick with that. Im also trying to bank a transfer this week it would only be the second time all season if I manage to hold out.

Alavaro Negredo will miss City’s FA Cup tie with Watford with the shoulder injury he sustained against West Ham in midweek.

David Silva will also be absent tomorrow after picking up a slight hamstring strain, but manager Manuel Pellegrini does not expect to be without either player for too long.

“Negredo has a shoulder injury and we will see how he is over the weekend,” said the City boss. “The initial opinion is that it is a minor problem and nothing more.

“Silva is not 100% so will be rested against Watford. He has a slight hamstring strain – nothing too serious – but he won’t play tomorrow as a precaution more than anything else.

“The rest of the squad is available for the match with Watford including Micah Richards and Stevan Jovetic.”

Mata transfer delayed, medical has been pushed back. Will still happen, but if he doesn't sign until Monday I'd put him as doubtful to start on Tuesday, more likely off the bench. No idea though, but I'd wait and see if I were thinking about a transfer in. Not near a rise anyway so we can afford to wait.

Bought at 5.0 - won't be getting him back in if I sell him now.

I did ya. Had him from the start so the decision to sell may turn out to be wrong. Need something to kick start my season because it's been a disaster up until now. I'm putting my faith in Baines instead of Coleman, however crazy that transfer is.

Who would you rather long term? Benteke or Adebayor?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,268 ✭✭✭IsMiseMyself

If Benteke can hit form again, then Benteke all the way. As it is now, he's a bit on the expensive side whereas the momentum is all Ade's right now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,253 ✭✭✭Steven81

Who would you rather long term? Benteke or Adebayor?

Depends on your team, Ade is 7.8 vs 8.7 for Benteke, there isn't too much between them so for that reason get Adebayor and strengthen up somewhere else on your team.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,022 ✭✭✭✭Iused2likebusts

Who would you rather long term? Benteke or Adebayor?
Adebayor a proven goalscorer playing for a team going for top 4 rather than a team fighting releagation and he is 1 million cheaper.

That's a stinger. Brought him in with the WC for the bench, he was a bargin at 4.1. Not much else use in midfield at that price.
