Well done to the minor hurlers.
Went a point behind and responded well with 2 goals.

Scoreline flattered them a little 2-12 to 11 points.

On first viewing I thought it was fair for Crummey to get the second yellow. I just think it was a silly challenge to make where he made it. We were't under such pressure in that corner of the pitch to warrant it. No one but himself to blame.

I watched it back on Sky and that was the chat between JJ Delaney and Canning. They didn't actually address whether it was or wasn't a fair challenge. More concerned with Crummeys mindset. Laughable analysis (from them;))

Anyway, after watching it again.... i agree he crunched the lad with a perfect tackle.

    Brilliant win for the minors!

If Dublin win on Wednesday it will indeed have been a good year, and with more to come I hope.

Sure what would they know. :)

Honestly I had no real issue with the legality or otherwise if the shoulder it's the "why the fupp are you giving the ref the option?" Of it all. especially against that crock of a Cork team.

    ---

In other news, Kerry into an All Ireland QF after beating Clare and Tipp. Seriously, can anyone explain why this embarrassment continues? Meanwhile in Ulster they're kicking the **** out of each other...

But what was Crummy supposed to do? Stand out of his way?

There were far bigger hits today, legitimate ones, and the ref properly let them go. One player in particular last night caught the man he was marking several times around the neck with his stick and I don't think he even got a yellow for it. That IS dangerous play, apart from being utterly cynical way to stop someone. Crummy hit your man with his shoulder looking him in the eye. Not his fault he went down like he'd been shot.

Absolutely shocking from Dublin so far. Like a junior hurling team out there.

Fairly strong wind so hopefully it will make a difference in second half, but sloppy so far. They seem terrified of the Offaly goal threat which has led to some silly frees and the penalty.

They are only 4 down and have a bit of a wind and cannot play any worse than they have this half, so I think they have a very good chance still of winning this.

Dublin no 5 Barrett has been outstanding. Great display of fielding

Great to win. But not a classic.

Great win. Sean Tracey, a super star in the making.

Good win. Didn't look like it at half time, but they were much improved in the second half. Poor game. So far from what I have seen of this championship, Limerick look well ahead of the Leinster sides.

Good win after a poor start. They hurled with great confidence in the second half. Galway next which will be a big ask, but not impossible. Winning both minor and 21s makes up for the disappointment of the seniors.

Great win, really didn't see that finish coming after the first 30 minutes. Good news overall.

I was confident enough at half time not only because of the wind, but they also started slowly against Westmeath. I suspect they were maybe a bit too wary of the threat of goals given Offaly's previous games, but backs were brilliant and showed some great touch and composure under pressure.

Galway will be another step up, but if they can bring the same type of game they brought to Wexford Park I would give them a good shout of beating them. Some really good players on this team, and best of all none of them are on county football teams!

Seniors were disappointing but 2016 could turn out to be one of the key years for hurling in Dublin.

Conrgt's to Dublin. better team on the night.
    Took the two goals well.
Disappointed that Offaly were missing a few and we just can be missing any.
Didn't Help that 5 lads play on Sunday.
All that said don't takeaway from Dublin been the Better team.
Best of luck to Dub for the rest of year.

So after this mornings draw, if we beat Westmeath on Sunday, who do we play the winners of?

There'll be another round of qualifiers before we know - hopefully one of Mayo, Cavan, Tyrone/Donegal

Edit.. Just wiki'd the draw we'll play a B side qualifier if we win Sunday more than likely Mayo or Tyrone/Donegal imo

Oh happy days, the tougher the opponent the better.

Looks like that from GAA.ie also.

Any of those teams is a great draw for us really, just what we'll need.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,665 ✭✭✭Bonniedog

Oh, Mayo, if there is a God!

Will AOS be available or has he been booked into "Swan Lake on Ice" for rest of season?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,775 ✭✭✭✭Slattsy

A virtual high five to our Dub colleague, who has been earning serious overtime since Divegate. We'll be over here, with the spare baseball bats and chocolate hobnobs if you need us Docta. :D
