Mert could well be rested for the Cardiff game

Not a hope of that happening. He'll be rested for the Cup game if Wenger decides he needs resting. Wenger said earlier this season that he doesn't need to rotate much at center back because the physical demands aren't as great as they are for the forward players.

Any more word on Rooney being available for spurs game, or on Morrisons situation at West Ham.

if Rooney's out and Ravel doesn't return to the fold I'll be a bit short.
    Both should be fine.

Quotes from both managers in papers over the weekend (although the Morrison quote said he should have played Saturday)

any arsenal fans on here? How did cazorla play yesterday and with ozil out is he nailed on to start against cardiff? He could be a great 1 week punt for me only 2% ownership aswell.

I'm dropping Ozil, can't decide between Yaya and Hazard to replace him.

    Hazard.

Transferred out Ward-Prowse for Jack Colback and also Shay Given for Kelvin Davis to get another .2 in the bank without taking any performance hit.

Ward-Prowse should be a great value player next year, but as it stands he isn't getting enough playing time whereas Colback seems to be thriving under Gus. The Given -> Davis was a no-brainer as it was a position I didn't look at for quite sometime because I assumed nobody could be cheaper than Given!

Would transferring mignolet out for szcezesny be a good shout?

Did it weeks ago. Havent looked back since. Szcesny has a chance of 6 points or more every week, Mignolet hasn't beaten 6 since the first 3 gameweeks.

It's a fair point but with Hull at home I'd argue there's little reason to make the move now unless you really have no others moves to make. For the wildcard I would say yes but before that I wouldn't see much need in a switch

Yep good few Pool fans in my league keep sticking with Mignolet and I'm happy with that. He's clearly a good keeper but his returns dont lie - 2 CS's since mid-September.

Cazorla is horribly out of form tbh. He had a great match at West Ham but was one of our worst at Newcastle and has been similar since returning from injury for the most part.

Hoping Wenger moves him centrally with Ozil out which should help him, especially for home games ala Cardiff.

Colback isn't even a starter never mind thriving!!!

I'm a fan and I haven't owned him this season. Too many inconsistencies at the back this year, always look like conceding even when comfortably winning games, and it's happened like that.

But with wildcard so close and Hull at home I wouldn't waste a transfer, he won't drop in price this week or anything.

You might want to have a look at Colbacks detailed stats.
He has played 90 mins 4 times in 12 games under Poyet.
    Ward-Prowse is getting more minutes.

The Given -> Davis might be a no brainer in the Jan wildcard but I wouldn't be using up a transfer to do it this week

Lads, Henderson or Sterling, literally just for this Cardiff game as I'm wildcarding that day.

Bacuna out, Sterling in, hopefully no more double transfers. Now weather or not to activate the WC on the 1st, or the 11th.

Arsenal play Cardiff, Liverpool play Hull.

I'd go Sterling as he's already set to rise tonight and could get another rise between now and after your wildcard so you might get an extra 0.1m out of it, also more likely to score

Thanks for the advice re mignolet to scez I will hold off for now. What about evra out for metesacker? With Cardiff City (H)Aston Villa (A) Fulham (H) Southampton (A) Crystal Palace (H) there next games between now and the start of febuary looks good against Tottenham (H) Swansea (H) Chelsea (A) Cardiff City (H) Stoke City (A) Fulham(H) for united

I have Rooney, Gibbs, Ivanovic and Collins all doubtful.

I expect Rooney to play and possibly Ivanovic to miss out, can anyone tell me about the other two?

Also want to get in Wallcott - will probably have to take a 8 point hit (won't do this) or sell Yaya or Hazard (most likely).

Can Arsenal afford to rest Metesacker? If they could this would be the time they'd do it

There's the FA Cup for a rest coming up. And Vermaelen is out at the moment though could be back soon. I reckon Mert is safe in the league

    Whats the story with Gibbs?

I considered that but figured Henderson would also be likely enough to get the same increase. Think I'll go with Sterling though, thanks.

They've played that with Silva behind when they did, and they played them both against Fulham. With no Silva it stands to reason they would play 2

Might just hold onto him so..

I'm a little concerned that I may not be able to a field 11 next week :o

I was thinking about Negredo in for Lukaku. However, City have a fairly hectic January with the Carling Cup semi finaks so I think I'm going to hold off after Lukaku returned to scoring yesterday.

I was in the same boat myself, as frustrating as Lukaku can be he is a 90min man every week. If Jelavic goes in Jan he looks even more secure up top.

Everytime i sell him he comes back to haunt me much the same as Hazard so both can stay now, lesson learned.

morrison to sterling one falling and one rising added to the fact sterling has a decent fixture made it an easy enough transfer. Was considering oscar to cazorla and may do it for a 4 pt hit as a one week punt as cardiff are shipping goals lately.

Why is everyone jumping from the Morrison wagon? :pac:

Santi has played 90 on the 26th and 29th. I'd be wary, plus he hasn't exactly been in great form.

Although I'm considering Arteta for one week only in the hope that Arsenal may get a penalty :pac:

For the last 2/3 years he's been my go to guy for a one week gamble when Arsenal have handy fixtures and I'm pretty sure he's gotten at least 3 penalties for me in that time :P

Not sure, seems he is genuinely injured, and they are under pressure to listen to bids for him in Jan. There was a very vague rumour about a falling out with teammates in another thread.

Can't see anything other than him coming back in when fit and being keen to impress. There was even a story yesterday that Man U might be in to buy him back.

He's dropping in price a bit bit not rapidly, I'm hanging on for now.

I brought him in at 4.4 so the price drops aren't overly concerning :)

I'd like to see him back at United, but I don't think it will happen..

If anyone was going for a forward gamble this week I'd suggest Podolski. I see him starting either from the left or actually replacing Giroud. If he was a midfielder or I didn't have such pressing mindfield midfield concerns I'd be all over it.

Interesting.. I can actually afford it too :D
