Its the other 3rd party publishers that charge 70e. sony make no money from them sales.

    They absolutely do.

If I order something off amazon, how much would I pay to be sure I'd get it for release day?

Use Parcel Motel with the free UK First class postage option. Just the Parcel Motel fee is all. If you don't use PM you would not be 100% to get it on release day even with the express shipping option.

Can you tell me what that parcel motel service is, or does, and how much it costs to use ?

It would be far quicker if you just google parcel motel and read all the details yourself. Not meaning to be sounding smart or anything.

Good idea, every time i see parcel motel talked about here i always wonder what it is, but put off googling it.
    They absolutely do.

They do ?, are you on about how 3rd parties use blu ray format and sony get paid because of that, or what ?.. i read how sony gets a cut of games sold on PSN, but wasnt aware of them getting a cut of 3rd party retail games sold.

They get a cut on all games sold, digital or physical. Same as MS get it for all Xbox games and Nintendo for their formats. It's how they make money.

For sure they do. If you want to release something on their platform then you pay them.

Sony even gets a cut of Microsoft for every xbox one game sold thanks to them using Blu Ray disks made by Sony LoL

Blu Ray discs are not solely made by sony and sony do not exclusively own the bluray format, intellectual rights or trademark.
You are right though, Sony do get a cut, along with many other companies.

    ....The more you know....:D

Sony own the lion share of the patents for the disc format while Panasonic do on the actual players, Philips would be third in both with the rest holding a far lower share.

Blu-ray and HD-DVD formats are not owned by one company.

See ref: Blu-ray Asscociation or HD-DVD Promotion Group

The upgrade programme is just a blank page on PSN now, so I'm guessing not.

On that note, they need to update the PSN store on PS4 to make finding and browser a more user friendly process.

Really? I think its only blank if you have no upgradable PS3 games downloaded.

In any case the BF4 upgrade is due to expire at the end of march, some of the others already have so this is the last month that any PS3 game can be upgraded to a PS4 version.

Yeah it is a great little game, it is a pity Phil Fish has a few screws loose.

The EU PS blog just posted that there'll be 2 versions of inFamous, a standard and digital Legacy Edition, the Legacy Edition included the DLC which is a pre-order bonus for the standard edition in the US (physical and digital) not only this but there's no pre-loading unlike a load of other PlayStation games (it'll be up to buy and download at midnight).

Or a blessing. I think you'd need to be a bit... different, to make a game like that, and I've only ever seen videos of it. I can't wait to play it.

Been waiting ages for Fez now. I get the feeling it isn't cross buy?

As if there wasn't enough games to get in March!

According to the tweet it is, we will just have to wait and see, even more of a reason to get it if it is.

Oh that is great news. Even if I generally just play these kind of games on my vita. It's nice to have that choice.

On indies.. I'd love to see Monaco makes it's way to the PS4/Vita.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,529 ✭✭✭✭Varik

US PS blog has it listed as cross-buy and it's $9.99 for Plus for launch week and $12.99 after that.

Just a placeholder I would say.

For one thing it's a Monday which would be very unusual. It's also the end of Q2 and I believe Ubisoft said it'd be released in Q2.

So it's actually likely to come earlier than that date.

Most likely a placeholder alright, though I don't think it'll be much before June 30. Better news than another delay!

Yeah it is a placeholder, Ubisoft mentioned it today in a tweet, their production manager also tweeted this today, so we might see some news, been rumours that the game will be previewed to the press this week.
