Also thinking that the nicely bred Hoe Hoe is at a handy mark in a weak looking race and has a course and distance win (albeit a long time ago). Has job jockey Fran Berry on board too.

Weird having Dundalk on a Sunday.
There is always racing in Dundalk on the 12th of July, no matter what day of the week it falls.

Probably a guaranteed crowd with Nordie refugees fleeing the marches for the day?

Posted this on the golf-betting thread but no harm putting it up here too:

Ladbrokes has started the Open "price war" by offering top prices on virtually all of the top 20 in the betting, including 7/1 Speith and 20/1 Fowler. 1/4 odds 6 places with them. Coral (and others) will definitely "escalate" the situation later today, especially since they are the ONLY bookie offering only 5 e/w places. The Racing Post is running an Open supplement tomorrow, which will be widely read by golf punters - and all the bookies will want to look like they are offering the best value!

Personally, I would not consider any golfer (even Rory/Tiger) at under 10/1 for The Open and my stand-out bet at the moment is Adam Scott at 25/1 e/w with Betfair Sportsbook. Great Open record and 1/4 odds 8 e/w places available. Also fancy Fowler 20/1 and Oosthuizen 25/1, both with Ladbrokes.

How so? Curvy looks the justified favourite, everything else as I expect it to.

The Oaks winner at 4th favorite at 9s does seem a bit odd. Ran stink in the irish derby but still 4th fav for an oaks winner.

yeah, and i don't think she was that bad in the derby. Curvy looks decent but the best form by far is Qualify. She finished well enough in the derby. She probably should have got to 3rd. It actually looks a poor race really. but id have nothing at all between the first 4 in the betting. I've kind of ruled out Pleasach, and Words is a unknown quantity that has a lot of improving to do to win this (even if its a poor g1). That kind of leaves Qualify & Curvy and they should be about the same price really. Gut feeling tells me Together Forever may well be the joker in the pack though..

I thought Words was a machine when I saw her on debut last year and I haven't changed my thought now. I think she's going to take a huge amount of beating.

She looks a machine but the price is gone. Aidan I'd disagree about it being a bad gr.1. Prob the strongest Irish Oaks in years I'd have said even with the fav out. I do agree about Together Forever

Your probably right, i dont really rate Curvy or Pleasach as winners. Words does look like a possible superstar but we just cant know that yet. At the moment the value looks in Qualify maybe 1 pt win , Together Forever 1pt win, and the usual AOB 123, which seems quite likely to me, and might be value. BUT who cares there is 2 really good NH races in the UK on Saturday:D

Best analogy I have seen/heard in ages. Definately robbing it. :P

I haven't really fancied anything for about a week. Had a look at the cards for tomorrow and on initial inspection I properly fancy at least 5 runners.

Subject to prices yet obviously. What do you do in that situation if I look again and still fancy 5 would you play as normal?

New race at the Cheltenham Festival next year. A mares novice hurdle over 2m1f. Odds on Willie Mullins having the first winner of it?
