Want to get Barkley out, but not entirely sure who to replace him with. At the beginning of the week I could have swapped him for Lallana in a double swap, but that particular option is gone now because they have gone in respective directions value wise. Not sure if it's still on with an alternative double.

    Team attached, any ideas?

Ditch Zabaleta for any defender who'll allow you to swap. There's lots of value out there, Vlaar might be a decent bet.

What should I do with this mess:

    Whittingham- Ramsey- Lallana- Oscar- Amalfitano

    Suarez-Aguero-Lukaku

    Bank: 3.8M

Maybe Amalfitano to Gerrard or Lukaku to Rooney/Remy/Benteke

Anyone thinking of Sessegnon for WBA, same price range as lallana but with easier fixtures, comes in at 6.6m he also has 2.7% owners.

Arsenals fixtures of Soton (h), Cardiff (a) and Hull (h) is annoying me, Giroud has reduced to 9.1m so could be worth buying back, would involve a points hit though.

steven ireland could be worth a punt 4.7 he has started the last 5 for stoke played off the front man last game. He is also playing for a contract under a manager that had him playing great stuff before.

If Spurs could finish the chances created Townsend would have had 3 assists last week at a canter. Spurs as a team were pretty poor though, Ericksen was rubbish, watched the 90 coz i have Townsend and Dawson, will be keeping both for now.

Need to make a decision on who to get in for Fonte. I already have Clyne, and Southampton have a horrible run for the next four gameweeks so need to get rid of one of them. With £5m to work with I think I've narrowed it down to these two:

    Ron Vlaar
    Price: £4.4m
    Points per game: 3.5
    Bonus Points: 7
    Attacking threat: 0 goals/0 assists - 5 shots
Upcoming fixtures: West Brom (A), Sunderland (H), Southampton (A), Fulham (A)

    Davide Santon
    Price £5m
    Points per game: 3.5
    Bonus Points: 3
    Attacking threat: 0 goals/0 assists - 10 shots
Upcoming fixtures: Norwich (H), West Brom (H), Swansea (A), United (A)

I think I'll go with Vlaar. The Dutchman is captain so guaranteed to play the next four games (barring injury) and I think Villa could do well. He's had 5 shots so far and usually gets a goal or two a season so there is a slight attacking threat there. Defensively Villa have tightened up with clean sheets in their last three away games, and a 2-0 win at home to Cardiff last week. Hes 94% of the way to a rise though, need him to hold off until after the internationals. £4.4 is a bargain if he can pick up 15+ points over the next 4 GW's. Villa probably have the best chance of clean sheets over this period, and if they do get one Old Ron is pretty much nailed on for BP's. He's picked some up on all four clean sheets so far.

Santon seems to be a bigger attacking threat with a goal and 4 assists last season, and twice as many shots this season, but Newcastle are so hit and miss he could easily get 1 or 2 pointers for the next few weeks. And they have an away trip to United to worry about too. Yanga-Mbiwa and Colocinni are also on my radar but unsure if the latter will even play.

I don't think there's anyone else I need to consider? All aboard the Vlarr Car, he could be the new MT :)

I would go with Vlaar, cheaper than Santon and I just never trust current newcastle defence. Villa defence is actually decent enough, helped by Lambert tactics where he actually plays 3 deep lying def mids (I think that 8-0 chelsea drubbing scarred him for life:pac:)

The other thing about Vlaar is that he can be put in team all the way until Xmas imo, not just the next 4 games. Nice to be able to just forget about cheapie defenders like that and focus on the inevitable changes needed with mids + forwards

You are missing one player. If it was me I'd leave out Boruc, Clyne and Coleman as I can see Arsenal scoring and the Merseyside Derby having goals. I think City v Spurs will be low scoring.

Lambert has done well for me in the last 3 weeks - 29 points worth. But Southampton have a run of difficult fixtures before a decent looking Christmas period.

Looking at taking a hit and trasnfer Lambert for Remy and maybe look at swapping them back again in a few weeks. I have £1.8 in the bank so can play around a small bit.

lambert has pulled out of England game with a muscle strain, and yellow flagged. Might recover in two weeks time but might help sway the decision if your on the fence!

Need to swap out McGregor as dont want play Boruc much next few weeks- was all ready to do it to Myhill until he got flagged, pantimilon only other real option have 4.9 to spend. What do people think slightly injured Myhill or rotation risk of Panti? Not keen on dumping Boruc but maybe an alternative

Just realised I could actually afford Suarez.

    Sturridge OUT, Suarez IN
    :)

    Front three are now:
    Remy / Suarez / Giroud

    I don't understand how Giroud isn't scoring. I really don't.

By Mid Sept he had already scored more than a third of his tally from last year. He is not a prolific striker, he got of to a flyer that was all.
He'll do better than his recent poor run suggests but I think a lot have gotten carried away with expectations from him.
Podolski getting injuried was great for his game time...but Arsenal's goals are dispersed through midfield more so than other teams.
I'd take Podolski over him any day but I would still be shy about playing an Arsenal striker.

Personally I haven't given Giroud any real consideration, I'd happily go with 2 Arsenal midfielders when they are on form.

For the first few games of the season I was asking myself the exact opposite of this. I don't rate him at all. Ramsey is an entirely different story.

Giroud is a very poor player, after watching him against United I knew I had to get rid. He has no pace whatsoever.

Why not get Marshall? Ok he plays for a poor Cardiff but 4.4 ppg is not the worst considering his price tag of just 4.5m. He makes a ridiculous amount of saves per game which keeps his figures tidy enough compared to the rest of his defence.

    .

    Enter...Chelsea! (EPL)
    Hazard (4), Oscar (4)
    Eto'o (2)
    Torres (1), Lampard (1), Mikel (1), Schürrle (1), Willian (1), Ivanovic (1), Terry (1)
    Luna (O.G.)

Yes Chelsea too, that's what happens when you loan your best striker out.

He's not good enough for Arsenal IMO. He was poor at even holding the ball up against United, something basic enough for most strikers.

He also missed a good few chances the week before against Liverpool.

By no means a Danny Graham-style useless player but I can see why Wenger was looking for a striker.

I think ppl are being a bit critical of Giroud. He has got 63 FF points which is a good haul to be fair. He is not great but decent and 8.5-9.0 in FF is still value IMO.

Arsenal have played Dortmund twice, Liverpool and Utd in last few games. Tbh I thought both him + Ozil have looked tired in recent games.

Lads in dire straits, 4 possible injuries and Reid is now out for the rest of the year supposedly! Is it wildcard time or should I just play out this week and make some transfers after the weekend?

I'd use the wildcard, that's what it's there for. No offence but your team needs major surgery, particularly in midfield and defence.

How're you doing overall? I ask because I'd go with 2/3/4 transfers that may set you up going forward rather than wildcarding. A few hits and that squad doesn't look too bad. Debuchy will be back the following week with handy fixtures and Brady could well be fit.

Seeing as you've kept your wildcard this long I'd hold it as the front 3 and midfield isn't too bad. Reid and Clark out and things don't look half as bad. Brady could well be fit and against Palace could be a risk worth taking by doing nothing. AJ will probably play against Cardiff but longterm you could do with getting rid. There's no reason why Lovren couldn't pick up points against Arsenal either.

If it were me I'd look at a few hits to set myself up for xmas and use the Jan wildcard then. Having the standard wildcard could come in handy down the line but I guess it all comes down to how you view points hits.

Nearly 900k overall, had a few good weeks but I just seem to be swimming around average as of recently; 52 points last week when average was 45.

I've already made 2 transfers this week (Remy and...Debuchy before he was suspended) so I'm -4 already?

If I were to play my wildcard it would probably look something like this:
    5jPDEi.png

Although I'm still unsure about midfield, even with the wildcard.

Ah ok you could do with an injection of points alright and being on -4 doesn't help things :pac:

Why go against your original conviction of Remy in the potential wildcard? I have Rooney myself and I'm happy to have him but I don't think I'd be scrambling to get him in if I didn't right now.

The midfield is impossible to call and it's not the worst in the world with your original incarnation. Routledge and AJ could do with the boot but it certainly looks stronger on paper in that wildcard. I couldn't advise on Yaya at that price though despite his new found freekick prowess but he keeps on scoring just like Ramsey.

Why keep Clark in the wildcard when Vlaar is fit and .1 cheaper and about to rise in value? Also Everton are a team I'd keep away from for the next month.

I can't and won't tell you what to do but I willt say don't rush into anything, you can't get that wildcard back! I've probably just confused you even more, sorry :pac:
