Haven't seen a thread like this yet even though I read through BF3's one regularly....so let's discuss our "only in Battlefield" moments.

On Transmission today, I managed to snipe two guys out of a flying chopper. Well chuffed with myself because I am by no means a sniper. :pac:

It was a situation where the two guys must have said "wow, that guy is a beast with the rifles". On my end, I was saying "wow, that's never going to happen again.....EVER". LOL

Completely jammy shots altogether. :cool:

Counter knifed someone for the first time - completely by accident!!

In a firefight and turn around to an incoming knife. I nearly jumped out of my chair in fright hitting side mouse button in the process (melee) blocking the blow. "F' key returned the favour... Most satisfying...

300m countersniper first-shot headshot. I think I ticked him off too from what he was typing in the chat window. Honestly, some folks should just uninstall BF4 and install notepad, they seem to prefer it...

Kind of a funny moment from tonight - trapped in a building protecting the bomb carrier beside the final target in a game of Obliteration, getting seriously suppressed by an enemy helo. Lost count of the number of times squad members spawned in on us and not one of them bothered to equip some anti air.
Eventually got fed up, suicided, respawned with an igla, killed the helo, got the win.

Two this week.

Was on with my brother in a conquest in rouge transmission. Spawned on him at objective A in a crazy firefight. Took out a chopper (double kill) shot another two soldiers and got stabbed in the back all in about 45 seconds. Wicked craic.

Parcel storm I was on a boat again with the bro when I was shot from the water. So I respawned on him, bailed from the boat, knifed the guy that shot me turned around and knifed another I didn't even know was there. Both times in the water. Climbed back on the boat and we both got rpg'd out of existence.

The total carnage that ensues in this game is just something else.

Parachuting in behind a building of 3 snipers, they were so involved with looking down their scope and thinking themselves untouchable that they never noticed me, even as I fired on them. Good times

Parachuting down and killed a chopper with 3 shots from the grenade launcher while passing him on the way down - was a good one.

On the flipside, I jumped out of a chopper and the rotar blades killed me!

Was playing on a pistols only server on operation locker, walked into a hallway to come under fire as 3 enemy are at the other end, I back out of the hallway, but instead of running back into the corner beside the entrance. The three guys all gave chase and I shot two of them headshots blank range while I knifed the third.

Satisfying.

I counter knifed someone the first or second day, when I turned around coincidentallyjust as someone was about to stab me, I use the arrow keys and numpad to play, not wsad, so the F key was miles away - but it gives you a surprisingly amount of time, as I just frantically mashed the entire keypad and got it, though I opened up the console in the process. Haven't knifed anyone since I got the game, and haven't gotten an opportunity to counterknife either!

I had a game of 22kills 0 deaths. I am getting really damn good in BTR . Had 2 Buddies with me. One in turret, and one running around. I was Just rolling around killing stuff, driving off to safe spots for repairs and shouting out over vent stuff like: "We got customers at 9 o'clock!". Response to me after few seconds: " Enemy is down ".

Ah, good old BF. you have to play it in groups with friends and with mics.

I never played bf3 with a clan, but between 3 and 4 I joined a clan for a different game. But spent most of tonight playing with them over ts. Had some cracking games. highlight was unlocking the sraw and scoring 2 kills on an enemy attack chopper guiding by hand.

one of the kills being stupidly long range. I was on the building overlooking B (not the tallest) but the one with its back to the US spawn and the enemy attack chopper had flown back over it's spawn to repair itself and I actually guided the rocket from B to the US spawn and scored a double kill

Clever use of the boost packs levelled me up 4 times today.

Bit easy in fairness use 50% or 100% boost and play a round of Locker as Support. ammo box 190808080808008 points.

Love being killed by that aircraft carrier than shipwreaks. Also that conquest map where "D" is the train carriage that moves around the map is cool. The map with the dome/satellite reminds me of golden eye

Don't care that we lost that Shanghai round, I pulled off two kills on MBTs using the M2 mines up close and personal, shot down a helo using a SMAW unguided, and at the start of the round pulled off that cheeky thing where you pop the bollards up, then lay three c4 charges on the control, nip off to watch from safety, then when the tank driver stops and gets out to open the bollards, blow him and the tank to small bits before he can even drop the bollards (this one, which gave me the idea in the first place)

Just a quick gameplay clip from my 2nd night of BF4 on the PC. Taking me some time to get used to a mouse and keyboard again.

BTW. Nvidia Shadowplay works decent, playing on Ultra @ 1080p without any noticeable slowdown while recording.

I just stuck the word pistol into the search filter (and looked for 48 players or more and in europe so the pings wouldn't be horrid). Note; they ban the shorty, any primary weapon, and grenades (knives are fine): use one to get a kill and you're killed yourself automatically; do it twice and you're kicked from the server. So you get used to hitting deploy, then 2 before the spawn blackout ends Also, playing as support's a good idea as you burn through pistol ammo fast in locker

But more than just the points grind, I was playing a damn sight better than normal - because it takes a few hits to kill you, you don't get so many instadeaths (but oh boy do you notice that headshot bug - one shot instead of two killing you is meh, but one shot instead of five or six is wth?!) and you get some proper shootouts - and yeah, two lines of players facing off is a fast grindfest normally, but when there's some cover and everyone's got pistols, a 20-v-20 faceoff is actually kindof awesome

It's a bloody beast of a pistol...very high stability so most shots are on target..

I tried that one Blazer, and when compared to the P226 or MP443 without unlocks, it's a beast, I think it might be my favorite pistol so far when you just look at the base gun without modifiers but the thing is... the actual use case is generally of the OHCRAPOHCRAPOHCRAPIMGOINGTODIERUNAWAYRUNAWAY extreme-short-range variety and at that point, it being accurate is in second place to high damage, high rate of fire, lots of ammo and it being heavy so it'll hurt when I throw it at the other guy after I run out of rounds

So the P226 or MP443 with muzzle break and ghost ring wins out.

I might go back and level it up later on anyway, just to see if I can calm down a bit when using the thing as a way to improve my gameplay, but for real games, I'm thinking either of those other two, or the 93R. I keep seeing good things said about the 93R, but I've only used it for a few minutes (thanks to a reload getting misinterpreted as a pick-up-that-dead-dude's-kit command) and that was with a running order I wouldn't have chosen (mini-red dot sight, green laser and suppressor, which makes no sense to me at all). Those few minutes though, have me thinking the reviews I've seen are not full of poop, it's a nice gun to use in the circumstances where you'd be using a pistol in BF4.

edit: I will say though, that it's surprising how few of the pistols are worth the effort to unlock. The M9 for example, is inferior to the P226 in every way both on paper and in the game, at least for my play style.

I only play S&D in CODs so finding it has made my day, finally an alternative and so far loving it.. first game 8-1... that's good for my BF standards!

and in real life...the Sig (.40) is the pistol of choice for Secret Service and Navy Seals..
In fairness the damage on it should be higher compared to the other 9mm pistols unless they modelled it on the 9mm version if there was one.

I'm actually surprised that its the for most of the guns in the game.
I'm using the Aug A3 and before that the M416 but the guns in between were far worse. Same for the sniper guns..untill you get the JG the ones from the CLS4 upwards are crap.

The M40 isn't too bad so far, range is dirt on them though, bullet seems to just fall out of the air after about 200 meters. Finding it tricky to unlock the sniper rifles actually, not a gun you can play up close with and the bullet drop is making it trickier to get distance shots.
The DMR's are nice though, working towards getting the M39

I think I'm finally starting to settle into this. Either I'm just getting used to it or the various patches fixes and what not are having an effect.

I've been able to hold my own on various rounds and actually feel like I can make a difference. No longer dies it feel like I have 1hp and I have a chance to break for cover when someone takes a shot at me... even in hardcore.

Hopefully it lasts.

I'm having loads of fun with TOW missiles and the SRAW, I've hated them in every other Battlefield but all is now forgiven.

Being a console player imagine my delight when playing PS4 Conquest Large; i am totally loving it.

This on the PS4 is totally amazing, personally think the rest of the PS4 titles are just a glossed up PS3 version, but BF4 is like a totally new game. So smooth, amazing graphics and obviously 64 players.

Am loving Goldmund Railway but the biggest change in maps is Dawnbreaker. This was crap on 12 v 12 but I love it on PS4.

Also the game players "like a real war" (like I'd know) in that there is a pattern to the battles moving from bases nearer deployment into the middle where the action there can be incredible as opposed to 12 v 12 when you could bypass this and take a back base all alone; those days are gone.

Obviously this isn't new to PC players but for me it is so different as it makes it more tactical too in that you cant assume the base will be empty making the capture of it requiring a more stealthy approach.

This is why the master race has looked down at console BF3. Its fantastic that the consoles players can finally experience the game how its supposed to be played.

The BF series will put COD to the sword this gen in possibly every way bar sales.

BF was fine on console though if you played Rush primarily but conquest wasn't great unless you played Metro/Bazaar/Seine, i.e. the smaller maps.

What I don't understand though is people still playing Teamdeathmatch and Dominationm so much. Grand, maybe the odd time but really why play this mode on Battlefield. Even the Youtubers like Matimi0, LvlCap and others play that crap.

Had good few games with lads last night. 5 of us in squad and 1 as commander. Great crack. We won, we lost some, but we had a lot of fun. For the first time I sow Recon being useful.
Our buddy as Recon got on top of the mountain on Rogue transmition. The rest of us were defending D and making attacks on E. He was spoting every fecker for us and telling us where in D we got enemy soldiers attacking. He would shout out over Vent their positions too. Tanks were not a surprise anymore too as he was reporting every single leave rustle lol. Was very cool and team work was very rewarding.

One thing I really noticed in BF4. There are a lot of **** weapons and there are Good weapons. And I am not talking about situational advantages. Some weapons are just plain better then majority of other weapons. For example MG4, as soon as I got it, I just started wrecking stuff. I did not even had anything unlocked on it.

TDM and domination are great for unlocking things like the shotguns, which become less useful on most rush maps. That, and you know the matches aren't going to last very long, so it's an option when you've only got a half hour or so, as opposed to possibly having to quit out of a close rush match!

Thats the thing it was fine/okay rather than a great experience.

I think its mostly played by Youtubers to unlock guns/attachments for gun reviews and the likes.

It's already being discounted in the Steam sale, something that's unheard of for Activision and the CoD series. Even Black Ops 2 is still €44.99 on Steam a year after release.

Nice to hear. Might give them the kick up the arse they needed to start actually trying again. I stopped at the first Black OP's when I realized I had bought the same game again.

The PC version is a joke, been artificially programmed to hog recourses making it "demanding" game .

The PS4 version is even more of a joke I would have sworn I was playing the PS3 version.
