Any thoughts on bringing in Vidic?
I have him and I'd look to bring in Terry instead unless you have him. Seems to be more of a threat in the opposition box than Vidic whilst having same chance of clean sheet. He is slightly dearer though.
Uniteds upcoming fixtures are nicer but long term is be happier to have Terry :(

I have him and he's been terrible so far. No goal threat and conceded in both games since I brought him in. And he was the cause of the Sunderland opener last week. Hopefully normal service resumes this week at home to Southampton.

    Cheers lads

Might bring in De Gea then as my MU defensive cover and look at Terry

Couldn't be having Vidic at all. Not in form and not absolutely guaranteed to start every game with Champions League coming up.

Couldn't get my head around anyone going for DeGea as Utd defensive cover over Vidic, practically the same price but as an outfield player at least Vidic has a chance of scoring/assisting and despite his poor form(class is permanent etc) there is really no option open to Moyes but to play him pretty much all the time, given a choice between him and Rio there is only one winner.

But DeGea will play every game, Vidic will get rotated with Evans, Jones and Ferdinand

So did Lamps to Michu.......looking at this eleven for gw8, pending no injuries in the internationals.

    16hu6ms.jpg

Hoping for some defensive returns..Vidic has been pretty disappointing for me and could do with Coleman getting something.

Midfield has been a letdown all year for me really.....missed the big returns from ozil, barkley.....lamps a majpr disappointment. also had yaya in my wildcard side and got the rise from him and dumped straight away. also have missed the ramsey boat and cant see myself going for him now.

rooney may also be on the chopping block and giroud hasnt scored in 3 league games now so i'm expecting something from him.

I know you hate an expensive GK swiper but I think DDG will get fairly similar returns to vidic over the course of the season due to security of starts. Vidic has only played more than 25 games once in the last 4 years.
I currently have Boruc Vidic Terry dawson ( Collins)
but am going to go to over the next few weeks DDG, Terry, G johnson, clyne or rat whoever is at home.
With option 2 I'll have DDG over Vidic for if utd get a CS and I'll be playing either a southampton or wham defender depending on who is at home over having to play Boruc every week which I feel is better.

Werewolf: bench is whittingham, whittaker(norwich) and delph and around 1m in the bank. need to remove whittaker soon but always have a more pressing need

I've missed out on Southampton cleanies since I dropped Shaw with the wildcard before GW4. I think I'll get Clyne in but I don't think he's a long term option. There's a reason why the Saints may have flattered to deceive when you look at who they've played already and who's coming up.

If we take things up until GW16 (14th Dec and start of the hectic Xmas period after that)
    GW8: Man Utd (a)
    GW9: Fulham (h)
    GW10: Stoke (a)
    GW11: Hull (h)
    GW12: Arsenal (a)
    GW13: Chelsea (a)
    GW14: Villa (h)
    GW15: City (h)
    GW16: Newcastle (a)

and then the Xmas period of GW17 (22nd Dec) - GW20 (1st Jan)
    GW17: Spurs (h) (22nd)
    GW18: Cardiff (a) (26th)
    GW19: Everton (a) (28th)
    GW20: Chelsea (h) (1st)

I've underlined the matches that are totally plausible for a shut out. Anyone with Saints coverage in the singular or especially plural should have an escape route from GW12 onwards.

I'm pretty sure he missed the vast majority of those games with long term injuries, he is the only top class central defender at United right now, Ferdinands legs are gone and for some bizarre reason Evans seems to be ahead of Smalling as back up with Jones filling in all over. Obviously if Vidic picks up an injury I'll dump him straight away, as it stands I feel that unless his form continues to nosedive(I don't think it will, as I said Class is permanent) he will play almost every big game united have, probably around 33 or 34 in the league barring injury.
At .1 more expensive than DDG I'm a lot happier to have an outfield player who's likely to score 3 or 4 goals and win a lot of bonus points.

ah ye most were injuries with the occassional bit of rotation from fergie that I guess moyes might not use as much. I dont think vidic will miss more than 2 or 3 games from rotation throughout the season. Im looking at combinations of players from teams that I want defensive coverage from. I want Utd, liverpool and the option of southampton defensive coverage.
The way I see it I have 3 options
    1 Boruc Vidic Johnson
    2 DDg Johnson clyne
    3 Mignolet Vidic clyne.
I prefer option 2 as I think Johnson will be great in a 3 5 2. I fancy DDG to play more games than Vidic and I wont have to play my southampton player every week which could be a problem as Mr Ps fixture list above shows.

For most of this season there seems to be a new poster every couple of weeks with the same style as one who has mysteriously disappeared, I like to know who I'm engaging with, just wondering if I'm right and what are the reasons?

i actually like the look of 1 better, i'd rule out 3 almost straight away because of Johnson's attacking threat.
option 2 is good if you decide to go that way but i'd go option 1 for 2 reasons, the first being, Vidic's goal threat and BP's potential when united keep a cs. secondly, with boruc as your southampton cover over clyne, if southampton concede you're looking at 2 points or even 1 from clyne (the occassional assist in there) but with boruc, at a club who'll defend a lot, when they concede, he'll still rack up the save points.

the good thing about option 1 for me is that I only need johnson in to have the 3 players currently have boruc, vidic, whereas I need 3 transfers for option 2 . I take your point about vidics goal threat however with option 1 I have to play Boruc every week with option 2 I'll only play clyne when I think he has a good cs chance.

oh yeah I hadn't really thought about having to play boruc every week, and I know from last season (i kept getting jussi/begovic wrong) it's better to just have 1 keeper and stick with it so at least DDG gives you that. I mean you could get boruc/mc gregor but it gives you a headache then with selection. If you're going to go with option 1 I think i'd just stick with your current boruc/davis, saves .5 and no selection worries, plus boruc might surprise with clean sheets when you don't expect them (anfield for example)

the 1 transfer versus 3 is a big big plus though with option 1, I think i'd take my chances with boruc and see how it fares out, if Southampton start leaking goals you could always go DDG then.

ye it is the more I think of it. I may just sit tight for a while bar utd away southampton have good fixtures the next few weeks. If I get no injuries before friday I might make no changes this week .
