Any word on brady or chester's injuries?

Brady had his hernia surgery on the 1st, as far as I know, and they were expecting him to be fit 4 weeks later, which means he's probably not expected back until November 2nd. Can't comment on Chester.

According to PhysioRoom, Chester is expected back on the 2nd of November.

Bruce was being a bit more optimistic about Brady a week or so back. http://www.thisishullandeastriding.co.uk/Hull-City-Stephen-Quinn-George-Boyd-injured/story-19886942-detail/story.html#axzz2gjjEYsRX)

Physioroom.com has him down as 27th Nov so potentially back for the Spurs game missing one more game. I'm holding him as if he was fit he'd prob be bench next 2 games anyway and should def be back for Sunderland at home in GW10.

Edit: a more recent story still suggesting back for Everton game.... http://www.thisishullandeastriding.co.uk/International-break-ideal-Hull-City-Robbie-Brady/story-19896979-detail/story.html#axzz2hdzPs7GQ

Looking at getting a chelsea defender in but only have 6 . 1 mil so it's luis or cahill luis seems to have to be keeping his place the last few . Long term would I be better of taking a 4 point hit to get terry in ?

I would say Terry's the best choice there. He probably has the most chance of a score. As a defender, I mean.

Good good. I'm more than likely going to bank my transfer this week and hold on to Brady. He's unlikely to go down again by the end of this GW anyway. Debating whether or not to use my £1.9m to upgrade Turner this week, but then I'll have far too much money invested in defence (£37.3m).

    http://fantasy.premierleague.com/entry/12054/history/

My bench this week is looking like Brady (injured), Turner (Chelsea away) and Fonte (United away) so obviously don't want to be forced to play any of these. Also not too happy about being forced to play Morrison against City despite his recent returns.

£5.9 to spend on a defender, already have Terry, Zab & Vidic. I could get Mertesacker for 2 weeks? Coleman is another shout, despite the fact I only dumped him a few weeks back. Evertons fixtures are pretty good. Anyone else I'm missing?

Anyone sticking with Fonte against Man U?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,600 ✭✭✭roryc

    Nope, United will score.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16 Peter Visibility

That's what I was thinking. I hope RVP does the scoring as he's done nothing since I used my wild card to get him. Then Brady got injured and I find myself stuck with 2 Norwich midfielders. Got rid of Brady til he's fit (I feel so cruel), replaced him Whittingham. It's all going Pete Tong.

All things considered, may well bank my transfer this week.

I was gonna ditch one of Lescott/Paulinho/Gerrard, but think I'll give them another GW

This is the dilemma i'm in too! I have Fonte and don't plan on selling him but my other two defenders are useless; Whittaker who no longer gets his game or Gabbidon who may as well not get his game wit his usual 1 or 0 points from play!

I used my FT to ship Ben Arfa out for Barkley last week and considering my run of late I'm reluctant to take a hit to push me further down the rankings however i'm going to have to upgrade 1 of my defenders sooner or later so is it worth taking a hit to do it this week? Even if the defender I bring in does keep a CS i'd still really only be getting the 2 points Fonte could bring in even if he concedes against UTD? But there will never really be a good time to make this type of transfer will there as there is always something more urgent then upgrading bench fodder so maybe now is as good a time as any?

What a pleasant weekend that was, now back to the serious business, the break was very welcome, if I had a dog he would have been getting regular kickings for the last month.

At the moment I'm quite happy with my team for this week, there will actually be two on my bench that I'd really like to play, probably Arnie and Wilson who both have(the same) a good fixture home to WBA.
My problems are that I have a lot of money banked and never really enjoy looking at that figure not working for me, I could actually afford to get Van Persie in for Rooney and I'm contemplating it but he's making noises about his toe again, I assume he won't play for Holland tomorrow, I don't think Van Persie is worth his price but while I have the money it's something I could do for a few weeks.
I guess we won't see Walcott back this weekend?
My two keepers don't inspire me this week(Boruc and McGregor) but I'll persist with them in the absence of a similarly priced alternative.

Swiper talking about bringing RVP into his team? The hell happened over the weekend and hat have you done with the Swiper we know and love?

I'm going to try and wait until thursday or friday before I really look at things again. The internationals will be done and dusted then too. It's amazing at just how quiet the place has been though since about Tuesday last week bar a few lads straying in for a while :pac:

The devil will make work for idle hands to do:o
Similar to your own brief crisis of faith a few weeks ago, you know what I'm talking about!

Being honest there's really very little chance I'll do it unless Rooney picks up a knock tomorrow, just putting it out there, I've really good fixtures for all 5 of my defenders this week so I'll probably bank my transfer to make Walcotts return seamless.

Haha and people won't believe how close I was for a few days to pulling the trigger before backing out. (I really should have :pac:)

Yeah I know what you mean, I think that hat-trick has been in the back of all our minds since Friday. Since I downgraded to Rooney I haven't really looked back, yet.

I know I'm not happy with my defence at all but they have good fixtures all the same (bar Mickey, gulp). Clyne, A Swan and Chelsea have all occupied my thoughts for coming in soon but hits for defenders is looking more risky in the past few weeks. Walcott will be interesting too but I may wait for him to fire this time before considering him.

Ideally I would plan to have Theo in my team as long as he's fit, if I was to take the insane step:eek: of naming my team after a player and subsequently obliged to have him all the time it would be Mr Walcott, I think Arsenal and Ozil in particular will be a different and more FPL friendly with him back. He missed a lot of chances and one on ones in particular early on this year but the fact that he was always in the position to do that meant I was never discouraged.

Have we cooled a little on AJ? I'm really surprised he's only risen once in the past 9 days.

I regret nothing*!!!! :pac: Yeah well by that I mean I'd give him a week or 2 to prove fitness etc.

I'm one of the 100k + that brought AJ in and I fully expect him to get the second rise if not the 3rd on Friday night. It's a pure gamble that I'm fully aware could backfire spectacularly but even if he played every second week I can afford him to do so. If it doesn't work out then so be it he's still my cheapest mid.

*some regret may exist, but Mr.P is a man of loyalty in this unforgiving world

I buckled and got rid of Walcott when he got injured, really bad timinfg because I am convinced with all the creativity in behind him we will eventually start to score...

Away from home with carzola, ozil, wilshere, ramsey in possession in opp half the first thing they will do is look to put Walcott in behind...

I have Ozil and Ramsey though so he won't be coming in till one of them is goen, am I mad to cash out on one of them now? Pick up Theo on the cheap...

So is Theo fit again for the weekend?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16 Peter Visibility

ok. Going to sub Fonte, spring Olsson from bench to replace him, save this weeks transfer so I can dump both Redmond and Johnson (What was I thinking?) and bring back Brady and maybe Morrison. Then maybe I can get back to 3-4-3. You have to love Fantasy football though.

Really want to get Lukaku in my team but no idea which one of Sturridge, Giroud or Rooney to get rid of. They all have lovely fixtures. I was thinking Giroud as he has the worst form of the 3 but nervous getting him out before a home game against Norwich.

    I've the same 3 strikers.

They've done well for me so far so for the time being, I'll pass on Lukaku :)

Need rid of Lambert, Ben Arfa and Moses, but only one can get the chop this week.

The most obvious one is probably Lambert. I can afford Lukaku if I do that.

Not sure what I would do if I dropped one of the other 2 yet, so they get a stay this week I think.

I'd ben more inclined to ditch Moses than Ben Arfa
