AJ in for Brady or Ward-Prowse??

There's no time to think about it. Just get AJ in now! ;)

Brady got the chop here but I don't have WP

AJ in for Brady or Ward-Prowse??

Depends on how the rest of your midfield looks. If you can afford to wait for Brady to get fit then WP, he'll get 1 point a week at best but in Brady's absence that may be an important 1 point

Lots of options. Lots of thinking to be done...

But... I have Suarez and Sturridge, and I'm thinking I need to let one of them go. Liverpool played so brilliantly in the first half, and then like crap the second. Very dissapointing. Seems to be a bit of a pattern.

Logic is telling me to keep Sturridge. He seems more technical with the ball, not as rusty, and seems to be a lot more cool-headed.

    Any thoughts anyone?

    What was your transfer?

i need Everton cover, and i should've got Barkley sooner. i had to get rid of WP, had 5.6 in the bank, and it beefs up my midfield a bit.

i'll make a call on getting Ben Arfa out at a hit later in the international break, but unless he goes down loads, i'll be patient.

it was so reckless, i didn't even check Adnan. i assumed he was a striker. meh. i have Rooney, and i'm not getting 2 United players in the attacking positions.

MF ain't great but I am surviving. Have Ozil, Moses, Brady, Ward-Prowse & Barkley. Think I'll do ward-Prowse as I can sustain a Brady loss of value. Ward Prowse will not rise again

Yeah I'd do WP from that alright. He's a dead weight really

done the popular transfer of januzaj in for brady, had initially planned on bringing rvp back in for suarez but after today's performances i'll stick on suarez for another while, i'd be foolish to let such a player in form with no other cup distractions go. especially as his price is on the up and RVp on the down. will look to get RVP back in a week or two but maybe at the expense of Rooney instead of suarez, will see how it plays out.
I have 3 united players now anyway so would have to lose one to get rvp back.
will get brady back as soon as he's fit again. maybe for moses as liverpool's nice run will be drawing to a close.

Januzaj in, Ward-Prowse out. Even though he's usually the type of transfer I'd never do, I'm a bit far behind now in leagues so I'm going to start taking more risks. Surely Moyes can't drop him after today?

I dunno. It was only Sunderland after all ;)

No one I really want to get in is going up tonight but will be getting Januzaj. Worst case scenario, he does up 0.3, probably 0.4 the night that GW8 starts and therefore I'd be happy for him to hang around as a fifth mid.

My dilemma is Rooney. Went to take a hit for Rooney to Sturridge but phone froze at 1128. Had to reboot and missed deadline. In retrospect, should have taken the gfs phone

Could take an 8-12 point hit this week. Finally getting a sense of who I want in my team.

Hmmm, trying hard to resist this januzaj fever. Love a good bandwagon but think I'll try and stay cool this time!

I think he's a good proposition if you need that player (punt 4th or 5th mid who might get a decent few points) but I'm not rushing to swap him for Brady.

Brady may be back for the next game, at most will miss 1 more (http://www.thisishullandeastriding.co.uk/Hull-City-Stephen-Quinn-George-Boyd-injured/story-19886942-detail/story.html#axzz2gjjEYsRX) and is guaranteed a start, pens, corners and fks in a hull team that are doing very well (more points than united!).

I had planned to bring in Michu for Ben Arfa this week and still think that's a good plan, only prob is Barfas price will drop like a stone so may have to do it early.

The rapid bandwagon and guaranteed price rises tempt me a lot, and I could regret it if he's the next Ramsey in FPL terms, but you can't chase them all! I was going to say remember Federico Macheda but I think this guy is better than that....

    For anyone with Fellaini:
David Moyes confirms @FellainiM missed today's match with a wrist injury. "It doesn't look good. We'll send him to see a specialist." #mufc

Also, it's mental how many transfers Januzaj needs to get a price rise.

He has 27,000 transfers in so far today and he's only on about 75% to a rise.

At least he won't go up tonight, so I have have all day tomorrow to change my mind entirely on the post above!

Januzaj is on another level entirely.

Moyes seems to think he's in line to be the next Rooney.
"I remember giving Wayne his debut and Adnan Januzaj is in that category - he's a top player."

Waiting until tomorrow to board the Ramsey bandwagon. Would love if he has a really bad day or gets injured...

Wasn't it mentioned though that Januzaj only scored 2 goals in 21 games for the reserves last year?

yeah it was something like that but he seems to have been encouraged to shoot a lot more now, he had a couple of decent shots yesterday before his first and scored this beauty for the u21's v bolton monday night

As for the Macheda bit, i know the poster only said it a bit tongue in cheek and says, Januzaj is much better. Macheda was a relative unknown at the time, scored one of the most important goals of the fergie era (i think liverpool would have won the league had united not got that last gasp winner), and then scored a deflected goal v sunderland the following week before disappearing back to the unknown.
There was no real hype about him beforehand and if that goal had came in a 3-0 win there'd have been little hype about the goal.
Januzaj on the other hand is well known, so many people were just waiting for him to get his games. He's going to be a very special player.
It just remains to be seen if he will be a good FF pick for this season, he's a gamble, but at 4.6 and playing for a club like man united, i think the bigger gamble is not having him! who can't afford to ditch their 5th midfielder for him??

Are we now taking it for granted that Januzaj will now play week in week out under Moyes?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,600 ✭✭✭roryc

Do you think so? He's started one game, why would that mean he's a regular? If any United fans have a better insight on this chip in, I know little about him.

I'm unsure about whether he will play every game but at his price I think its worth the gamble and if he continues to play like this he is undropable from the United team.

Im sure he will start the next game and will get a nice price rise. Im steering clear as Ive a few other issues to sort out. People are saying he is a great cheap 5th mid which he is. But surely if you get him in you have to start him ? Personally I think its unlikely he starts the next 5 or 6 league games and as I currently have a couple of injured players its not a transfer Ill be making. If he turns out to be a world beater Ive loads of time to get him in and he will still only be about 6 million.

Getting AJ in was a no-brainer for me. Needed to get rid of Ward-Prowse and the ideal replacement has cropped up. He is my cheapest midfielder and as such is always used as back-up. The advantages for me getting him in now is obviously his rise in price over the next few weeks and getting rid of some dead weight who will affect my team-value.

Hopefully he will play a lot and be a reasonable option for selection to get some points

Yeah bit the bullet and brought him in too just there ... the only thing now is fitting the lad in as I play 3 up front.

My biggest conundrum at the moment is RVP. I have purposely left enough cash banked so I can upgrade Aguero when needed. The fact RVP has been injured and is falling in price has stalled this decision.

I have to make a decision soon whether I go all in with Aguero long-term as the 3 million in the bank could be invested elsewhere. May just wait another while and see...

+1,I'm torn between selling him for Aguero/Lukaku or waiting to see if he/United hit form.

that will be the problem I feel for those that have brought him in you will feel you have to start him as he is a cheap mid that plays for utd. Far easier to leave other cheap mids out the likes of brady etc as most weeks utds fixtures will be favourable. Obviously if he cements a place its a great bit of business and your ahead of the curve however if he doesnt there will be weeks where he gets a 1 pointer while points are left on your bench.

    Yeah I have a top 7 of ..

Ramsey ... Barkley .... Özil .... Yaya Touré

    Rooney .... Soldado .... Giroud

... fitting him in will be hard enough, but is a nice one even to have as first choice on bench (initially at least)

I wouldn't dare speak for any other United fans :pac: but he'll feature quite regularly but very much in rotation, as regular as the likes of Nani and Kagawa (over the course of a season not what we've experienced so far). Moyes made specific reference to keeping him grounded after the match but I think with the midfield options this season he's well worth the punt.

He won't play everyweek and you'd want a guy you're happy playing instead at any given moment but there's no doubting the guy is special and as a united fan I'm excited.

The only issue is there's days he could come on as a sub and get you 1 point too but until we really get a reason not to chance our arms on him I'm going to have him.

I would imagine his most likely score every week will be 1 point. Too risky imo.

given that other people, myself included (in this thread and player watchlist thread) have elaborated on the pro's for getting him, would you care to elaborate on what you base your 1 point assumption as his likely score every week on?
