Maybe the guy on the other side of the map got the counts as kill thing other than that I'm having the same issues as yourself

What's BF4 like on PC these days? had it for Xbox One. Thinking of buying it tomorrow for PC... Still bugged much?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 321 ✭✭DeWinterZero

For most people it okay. The amount of people having major issues is decreasing. However whenever they fix those bugs the problems move to other people.

I've mostly had no problems. But there was a week where I couldn't play at decent fps because a patch broke SLI. And then the patch that fixed that problem caused the couple of weeks where TDM was unplayable because I'd no in-game sound.

And of course it might be still very buggy and the people that found it unplayable stopped complaining and found something else to play.

Was messy as fcuk for me yesterday. Hadn't played in a few days, decided to give it a shot. Took 5 attempts to connect to a server and I had horrible fps when I did. This was new for me as I usually have no problems there.
Rage quit on my 4th game I was that annoyed.

    ==edit==

PC patch rolling out now so I guess I'll try again later / tomorrow.

My game has been very stable for a long time, no problems connecting and very, very, few crashes. However, not everyone has the same experience.

The new patch today addresses a lot of issues in game that are pissing me off quite a bit, but it remains to be seen whether the fixes will be effective or what else it might break so I'd say hold off until you get some feedback on it.

On the plus side got my Veteran battlepack today, didn't even think I'd be eligible for one :)

I'm really nervous about this new patch . Since the game came out I haven't really had any problems with it but as someone who has played BF since the first one came out I know at some stage it will be my turn to say " it's broken and doesn't work for me " while almost everyone else will be saying " no , it's finally fixed and working fine for me " . It seems with every patch we get someone saying yeah I can finally play and someone else saying wtf have they done now .

Yeah, this is my big fear too. Have had virtually no problems since I bought it. Every patch fills me with dread.

Cheers for the feedback guys. Also, where's the cheapest place to pick it up? Kinguin has it for €22. Anywhere that beats that price??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 448 ✭✭Mad_Dave

Never seen it anywhere that cheap before, regardless of bugs I'd say you'll get your moneys worth easily for that price.

I'm another in the "rarely has any problems" bunch. My issue is that I play on a gaming laptop which... while great for mobility when I'm travelling... gives up some grunt in the graphics dept.

The new maps really strain things and a recent patch seemed to make the FPS worse (though nVidia's idiotic updater also finally decided to update and that didnt help).

Still love the game but looking at the number of people playing Second Assault maps, I dunno how many people are buying into the DLC for the series... pity, its still a great game.

So far I don't feel like Premium was an overly worthwhile investment, though Second Assault is better than China Rising, but I have to say I'm looking forward to Naval Assault for something quite different.

Yep, was severely let down with China Rising myself. Major disappointment for me personally and I'm sure many other Battlefield fans! Get your act together DICE. Make Naval Strike note worthy!

I said it before and I still stand by it , Premium cost me around 65/66 euro and I didn't have to think anymore about updates of what servers I could or couldn't connect to on a particular day because of DLC being out . I think it was worth it .

But then I am not one of those unable to connect or play .

Oh yeah definitely. I'll still get premium for it at some stage. I had it for BF3 on both 360 and PC and already have it for BF4 for Xbox One. More than likely will get it for PC version at some stage too.

Even if I don't like 1 of the DLC's it still works out better value than buying them all separate when I can get a premium key for €30ish on Kinguin too.

Just finished the campaign, the ending was rushed, was expecting a mission to kill Chang at the end.

    Naval Strike Assignments.
    I've unlocked the SW40 pistol & the M320 3GL already.
I think the SR338 DMR is the only one that needs Naval Strike.

AA Mine - Anti-air mine which targets air vehicles flying within it's range
Unlocked via 'Death from Below' assignment
    - PDW ribbon x 3
    - Attack 5 air vehicles with Rocket Launchers

M320 3GL - Fires 3 smaller 40mm grenades for attacking several targets with less damage than the HE grenade
    Unlocked via 'Multi Tool' assignment
    - Get 10 kills with UGL Darts
    - Get 10 kills with UGL LVG

    SW40 - Semi-auto pistol with .357 Magnum ammunition
    Unlocked via 'Curve Ball' assignment
    - Get 10 kills with an Impact Grenade

AWS - Light machine gun with 800 rpm and a magazine of 100 rounds
    Unlocked via 'Swiss Cheese' assignment
    - LMG ribbon x 3
    - Destroy 3 vehicles as Support

SR338 - Semi-auto sniper rifle with 10 round magazine and .338 Magnum ammunition
    Unlocked via 'Always Deadly' assignment
    - Sniper Rifle ribbon x 3
    - Get 5 kills with C4 on Naval Strike maps

AR160 - Assault rifle with 700 rpm and 30 round magazine
Unlocked via 'Spare Time Sniper' assignment
    - Assault Rifle ribbon x 3
    - Get 20 headshots with Assault Rifles

SR-2 - PDW with 900 rpm and 30 round magazine
Unlocked via 'Packing a Punch' assignment
    - Destroy 20 boats

    spoiler much?
The campaign is useless anyway so it doesn't make a difference.

The only thing worth while doing on 64 player metro:D

Sigh, yet another patch that does more harm than good.
Apart from the obvious bugs - return of the soundloop in TDM, killcam not working anymore etc - there's something else. Not quite sure what it is, but the gameplay overall just feels 'off' after the patch.

to me the game is totally unplayable. it feels like complete crap

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,132 ✭✭✭game4it70

I didn't buy premium but the game bored me before Second assault, so its not really a issue for me either way since I'm not paying for map packs and re-skins of weapons.

But the expansion packs splinter the community. The Gaellords 64 man server was bumping most evenings. China rising came out, it was full for a couple of days then people realized the maps were ****e. And then it died. Loads of other servers I was going to did the same thing.

Soon all you will really have left is the premium players and those that play vanilla.
