I think 99% of rounds of golf played by anyone will be described as "Could have been better" or "left a few out there". It's the nature of the game. He'll be happy with a 67. 3 more rounds of 70 and he'd be in serious contention.

Of course, but I'm sure he will be annoyed about the three putting and several missed putts inside 4 feet.

A 67 with a 3 putt and 2 par 5's isn't bad. He needs to keep 6's or worse off the card.

    Then see what Sunday beings.

My best round ever could have been 5 shots better. We are never happy as golfers.

Today is the key day for him now after a good first round. A nice steady 69/70 would see him near the top of the leader board.

Yep needs to stay in the hunt. Needs to be patient. Level par round will be good.

After a cracking start birdie on the 1st he follows it up with 2 bogies in row...needs to steady himself. Even par will be a good score today

Missed green way left with a wedge. Another shot gone.

Still time but he is making it very hard for himself

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,493 ✭✭✭✭AdamD

He seems incapable of grinding a decent score out when hes playing badly

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,256 ✭✭✭✭Dav010

    Another one gone.

Pretty disgraceful golf from him today. All over the shop with awful shots.

Will be lucky to break 80 and make the cut.

Cricket score. Hope he can add them up.

Embarrassing stuff now really. Going from T3 to missing the cut!!!

Missed another green with a wedge from middle of the fairway, then played a shocker of a lob shot, then a brilliant putt, bipolar golf.

    Savage par save there.

    Late tee time, more watching

Great approach shot at the 9th. Chance of getting back to level par for the tournament.

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

He is alive, just off life support after that par save on 8.
Needs that putt as this back 9 looks very difficult

Yup and going by this thread he’s the only one playing very badly.

Bit dramatic considering he is in 10th place and 4 off the lead.

Not the only one playing bad, but he’s the only one whose name is at the top of this thread though.

Probably needs a refresh? Unless you are looking at a delayed leaderboard.

Made some very sloppy shots in that front nine after the perfect start. If he gets back to level par he's still well in the mix.

Turning a corner, only 4 back now.

T19 on mine. Scratch that, at 10 surely.

Painful to watch him hack it around

His course management is absolutely non existent. Another example on 11. One of the easier holes which just needs an iron off the tee. Misses fairway and then tries to force it to the green into more heavy rough.
