    Nearing a final draft now.

Going with only 2 Chelsea players slightly worries me but I feel Lukaku will not get much game time with Torres now not travelling with the Spain squad. Would've liked to have Coutinho in there but Nolan is in at the moment for his good fixtures. I may try to get a City defender but I'm happy enough with the defence. Any thoughts/opinions?

You think Ba will play instead of Lukaku?

very strong all your players bar dzeko are guaranteed starters and for the first 3 weeks all your players bar bony have great fixtures.

Boruc out for a non playing 4.0 million keeper. Coleman out for Lescott with the spare .5 million.

Not necessarily but with Torres now in the equation I can see his potential game time being affected.

Here we go,looks a pretty strong team to me,Likely to either upgrade my sub keeper or shift Cech altogether after wk2.

Obvious issues around Lukaku and Hazard that most have but my defence looks strong a few GW

Dzeko i am keen on and Bony plays Utd first who are leaking goals so quite easy he will score,Michu and himself should combine well this season

Utd coverage will come in after the WC as i wanna see how we line up especially around the front line,Zaha and Nani look well priced to do well

"Lampard, Mata and Luiz could miss Chelsea's season opener, says Mourinho" posted on Goal.com so im thinking Hazard and Lukaku will start at least 1 match if not both , and i quite fancy them to do damage against MANU in GW2 .

Im possibly getting rid of cech after GW1 or play Boruc GW2 and keep hold will decide after GW1 .

Dont like Swansea's opening 6 games all but one looks trouble , and Bony allthough good is unproven but one too watch .

Im going for Lescott over Zab due to Nastasic being injured and he is .5M cheaper .

    .

2 midfielders and a defender are missing. I don't think that would effect Lukaku myself.

It's Ba and Torres you need to worry about for his playing time. I read this morning that some of the papers are carrying a story that Lukaku or Ba may be going on loan to Soldado's club to replace him.

Could be paper talk but it points to Torres still being number one.

If Lukaku goes on loan ill replace him but not with Torres and i doubt with Ba either , dont think either fit well at Chelsea . Will probably go with Berba or Kone or Long/Anelka or one of the new breed Bony/Wolf/Aspas .

Would appreciate feedback/comments on the following:

Cech 6.5m: Not a long term option for me, don't like tying too much up on a goalkeeper. But he's the only guaranteed starter in defense for the dgw. Szcesney will likely come in when I wildcard (Mignolet is where the value is at 5.5m but I think Toure is a better route into the Liverpool defense).

Boruc 4.5m: The beat cheap goalie out there and means I won't have to waste a precious early transfer getting rid of Cech. Although I'll have to keep an eye on Southampton's last friendly as he's not 100% guaranteed.

Lescott 5.5m: Can't understand why he's not in more teams with nastasic's injury, especially for those looking to wildcard early. Very cheap avenue into a great defense with good early fixtures. Have seen people mention richards and javi garcia as competitors to partner Kompany but I would rate Lescott as very likely to start the first 3 games. He started quite a bit as it is and the new manager won't want to risk javi garcia or richards neither of whom have played at cb much recently. Will need to look at man city's lineups in pre-season to confirm.

Toure 5m - One thing is for sure, for whatever reason Rodgers does not rate Skrtel. Toure will replace Carragher as Agger's partner imo. Offers little attacking threat admittedly but is worth 5m for cleansheets Liverpool will pick up.

Coleman 5m - Having seen him play in the Showgrounds manys a time, I think Coleman will kick on even more this season. He is actually much more of a threat from the rb than the rm position as he is better at overlapping than beating players with skill from a standing start. He should link up well with mirallas too. Drawback - as many have alluded to Martinez's teams are not good defensively. Wigan were laughable at times last season. Hopefully with better players at his disposal he can do better at everton but if they lose fellaini their CS potential will reduce further. All the same I think Coleman will offer enough by way of attacking points to mitigate this and at 5m he is undoubtedly underpriced.

M.turner 4.5m: Lot of good options at 4.5m but norwich have a decent start and turner did well last season. Really think Norwich will have a good team this year. Could yet be replaced by a 4.5m west ham defender if there's a definite starter at that price (anybody any idea?).

Chester 4m: Will be beched in GW1 and with a home game in gw2 will start. Will be bench fodder for most of the season. Hull had a worse defensive record than cardiff last season but considerably better than palace. For rotation reasons it was between palace and hull for me so I plumped for Chester. Brayford the best 4m option imo but doesn't rotate aswell for me.

Hazard 9.5m (c): Annoyed I didn't start with him last year (had planned to but this place swayed me towards mata, whom I managed to then get rid of before his hot run!). Hazard will kick on this year and despite being on set pieces mata isn't worth the extra million. Will be subject to some rotation but the same goes for most top players.

Walcott 9.5m: A cert and should be in every team. No risk of rotation here either.

Silva 9m: Most seem to have gone for coutinho in this slot. I want man city attacking coverage as they can always run riot. Silva didn't do greatlast season but is still a top notch player. Not a huge scorer but should consitently pick up assists and nick the odd goal. Also less prone to rotation than the city strikers (despite pellegrini's comments about dzeko he will surely still spend a lot of time on the bench and aguero doesn't represent value for me if he's not a guaranteed starter up front).

Mirallas 7.5m: An absolute must have and lets not forget that not only was he down as a striker last season, but he was also new to the league and injured for a while. Seems to have gone under the radar for non boardsies. I am a bit wary about having two everton players as I don't fancy them this year but both players are underpriced.

R.Morrison 4.5m: A risk, but a 4.5m risk so worth it imo. Price could rocket if he scores a couple and west ham have nice early fixtures. I did want to have jarvis in my team but 5.5m is an awkward price.

Benteke 9m: Only have him for the dgw and will get rid straight away for the early bandwagon striker. Still undecided here as I have 0.5m to go with soldado away to palace instead, who could easily outscore benteke and save me an early transfer. I'm wary that soldado hasn't played yet for spurs but I do see soldado as a long term member of my team. Will keep an eye on spurs final preseason friendly and decide.

Giroud 8.5m (vc): In good pre season form and should start with a creative team behind him. Long term he will likely be replaced by bony. Fancy giroud to get out of the blocks quickly and I don't want to go with 3 strikers new to the league.

Aspas/ Van Wolfswinkel 7m: Can't decide here. A lot will depend on sturridge's fitness but I would still see it unlikely for aspas to start the first 3 games so I'm leaning towards rvw. Rvw is coming from a much weaker league (there's some very weak teams in Liga Sagres) so his stats do have to be taken with a pinch of salt. Jay rodriguez is another strong contender for this slot, great value at 6m, southampton have a good start and unlike the other 2 he has PL experience.

Strategy - Will be going 343 obviously enough. Have set my team up with quite a short term view and consequently have taken a few risks. Lescott and Toure aren't 100% nailed on but I think they should start early on. IIRC both skrtel and agger had slight injuries pre season too. Morrison may not start but he will get gametime and could always come off the bench and score. Can easily get rid of him for 5m midfielder (brady, koren, garvan etc) with my wildcard.

Which takes me to the wildcard. I've set my team up with a view to wildcarding in GW3. However I don't want to be tied down to using it. If my team is decent shape (unlikely considering the risks I'm taking) then I will avoid using it and take a few points hits if necessary. GW6 is another good time to use the wildcard as you've more time to digest teams probable starting 11s and which new players to the PL are the real deal.

Bale will leave imo. Which leaves rvp. I won't be going with rvp as he's not worth 14m especially with their early fixtures and the added pressure of a new manager. Will strongly consider him with my wildcard and hopefully his price falls somewhat.

I realise my team is quite imbalanced rotation wise, with a lot of players at home in GW1. But if I'm wildcarding in GW3 I'd rather have the crux of my team playing two home games in that period as opposed to one. My team shouldn't be overly weak for GW2 all the same. Also I have 2 players from each of city, everton, liverpool/norwich/southampton (depending on aspas/rvw/jrod), chelsea and arsenal which is slightly concerning but I suppose it has as much to do with fixtures and value. Swansea and united players will come in after their tricky starts.

One thing I'm afraid of is that reading posts on here has swayed me towards players I wouldn't have otherwise picked and who I shouldn't be picking. A lot of players prevalent in teams on here have very low ownership (mirallas, brady, morrison, van wolfswinkel, coleman, turner). Conversely there are quite a few players with high ownership (lambert, michu, snodgrass, fellaini, ivanovic, baker, baines, jagielka etc) that aren't in many of our teams. But the standard on here is very high as last year proved. The fact that jagielka at 5.5m has 17.9% ownership whereas coleman at 5m has just 5.3% ownership says it all about the droves really, and I don't think that can be put down to national allegiances either.

Do ye think we are overlooking the new BP system? Probably better to take a wait and see approach and I understand that it' not a huge amount of points on offer but it does make certain players more appealing (for some reason cabaye is one that jumps out at me).

Still a lot to be decided by the transfer window too. Bent at 6.5m would be great at fulham. If rooney moves kagawa (whom I rate hugely from his time fron Dortmubd) becomes a cert for me and rooney at 10.5m and the main man for chelsea coule be a revelation. If bale stays, well...back to the drawing board. If he's still here next week I won't go with him either way as he's had no preseason but will re-evaluate when I wildcard.

I can't see Zaha being a starter unfortunately.. More than likely the front three will be Kagawa / Rooney / Nani

If one of the left or right wingers are being rested then it will more than likely be Young as their replacement, and then Zaha as his replacement. Moyes will more than likely give him a chance once in a while though, but still my point stands :o

Center will be Rooney or Kagawa, with Januzaj or maybe even Chico as their backups

    Just my 2c

I was gonna wait and see what team news was like the day before the match to weather ill pick him or not. From what i have seen of him so far i think he should be playing as much as possible this season but it remains to be seen.

I think i will do this i originally went with mignolet then taught id rather get some kinda defensive player from United.

De Gea gets a lot of saves in games and at 6 mil he aint to badly priced might consider swapping him in after a game or two see how Uniteds defense is performing.

Driving myself nuts here trying to sort a team out.

Any ideas for this? Have 2.5 milly in the bank but want 1.5 at least so I can transfer Lukaku to Soldado for week 2. Technically I have 1 million spare if anyone knows any upgrades I could make.

Also, should I captain Hazard or Lukaku for the 1st week?

    Appreciated.

You could change Mignolet to Cech to take advantage of the DGW. That's what I've done, I'll then change back to Mignolet to free up the money again.

The general consensus is that he'll play as part an attacking front-3 up front under Martinez at Everton.

    Well
Below is my first draft. Haven't really had a chance to look at it all until a couple of hours ago.
I'm not at all happy tbh. Forward line is weak but which midfielder do I sell to improve the forward line? No RVP so I had to then get Bale
    Any help/advice appreciated.

It's clear from your team Bale is tieing up alot of cash. I'd transfer him out and use the spare cash to upgrade Anelka and your defence. The mid you don't have that most people do is Mirallas.

You could also change Boruc to a non playing 4.0 million keeper to free up .5 million. Mignolet should play every week barring injury.

I originally had a team without both Bale and RVP. But is that just madness? Surely you'd need one of them in your team? A Bale transfer to Madrid to sort this mess out very quickly.

drafting up a team just for the first DGW. if i go with this team i will use my WC for GW2. i know i know.. very early for a WC but most people will use theirs during the international break anyway. and i used mine for GW2 last year and it worked out very well (finished in the top 5,000 which was decent for my first year) with getting in on all the bandwagons very early. it also gave me a big points boost and lead in most of my private leagues

there are always surprises on the first week, like michu etc last year so i will have the chance to get all them in early again this year when i WC so i won't loose out on any price rises etc

using my WC this early also lets me get 4 or so DGW players in and not have to worry about transferring them out for when they have no game for GW 3

team so far (remember just for GW1) opinions? any better options instead of mirallas for GW1?

    45dde0ca9a23096cfcdbc908e382bedd.png

or without lukaku (don't think he will start both games). couldn't find any better options than morrison for 6m

RVP is overpriced. Bale will be gone. And in the slight chance that he isn't, he hasn't had any pre season as the article above confirms.

Bale hasnt had much of a preseason so even if he is still at Spurs when the window shuts he will not be up to speed. Plus Soldado will take a chunk of goals off him. He cant live up to the 12m price. Plus I do think he will be gone. Levy is just playing hardball to squeeze out every euro he can and he also wants to finish making their signings before the other teams realise Spurs have 100m to spend.

RVP is the best striker in the Premiership but I dont think this will be a good year for Utd. They have a tough start. They have not played well in pre-season. They won a poor league last year but this year City and Chelsea look much stronger. Moyes is already showing signs of struggling under the pressure. He cant seem to land any of the transfer targets he has set and the Rooney thing seems to have spooked him. Every team will fancy a cut off the champions with the mighty Fergie gone. RVP will probably be the top striker again this year but not by enough to justify spending an extra 4-6 million on him versus the likes of Negredo Bony Soldado Lukaka Sturridge etc. Using that cash to boost the entire forward line and midfield will yield a much higher return over the season.
