Get a decat and remap. It will feel much better

I tried to get it remapped before and it wouldn't write to the ecu. The guys tried twice but no joy. He reckoned it was mapped already and locked somehow. What will a decay do

I'd try someone else so. Sounds like he didn't have the right equipment.

It'll be more responsive low down as the turbo gets going faster.

Revs better at higher revs. I think that's to do with the cat can deal with a flow and when you go over 3k it starts getting harder to push it through the cat.

I loved the difference it made with my 1.6 hdi. If I got another it'd be done from the get go.

All that with fuel savings. Went from averaging 36 up to 44 mpg

Would I have to put the cat back in for the nct?

    Not in a diesel, no.
I've had decatted diesels pass, it's only a requirement for petrols to have a cat fitted.

(Or do a good decat job, with a replacement exhaust piece that looks like a cat ;) )

    Will be painted tomorrow.

    It is tomorrow. ;)

Unfortunately, the only direct-to-rust paint I had was hammer effect golden colour so springs look funny now. :D

Thankfully they'll be hidden deep in wheel arches. :)

That was after a decat AND remap, right?

    I also have 1.6 HDI (Peugeot 3008).

What's a ballpark figure for this job?

Any disadvantages with getting it done?

    Thanks.

Is that decat or dpf delete you mean?

So the speaker in the front passengers door was making funny noises. I pulled off the door card and noticed that it was wrecked. I just unhooked it as the noise was terrible and made hearing the radio hard.

I hope to get one cheap from a scrap yard as I would like to have it right but for now til do.

Next week an oil and filter change.

Mine was a berlingo so no remap needed.

I can stainless weld good so I made it all myself.

Worked away for 6-8 months no bother then I put it back and sold the van

For some strange reason the top of my door was peeling the laquer. I had planned on getting it painted, but I have a perfectly mixed (By myself, lol) colour match aerosol and a can of laquer so I went at it myself.

Needs to be buffed and sanded still, I'll see how good I can get it just for the craic. I'll be getting it repainted early next year either way.

I'm going to buff it back tomorrow, the sand back and re laquer the entire top half of the door.

I think you'll all agree, if there's one thing we love about our MM it's the subtle way he goes about helping people, not pointing out our bad points :D

So i have the speaker unplugged on my car. Called to a scrap yard yesterday who said they had the speaker. It was in a door which was left outside and was very wet. So the search continues.

Yeah, it's leaning on the cloth roof though. Nothing worse than brushes on the ground :p
