Anyone ever have any valeting work done by clean car and how did they find them? I've bought plenty of products from them and Larry is always a pleasure to deal with and provides me with sweets:)

I'm picking up a my new car Monday week and was thinking of dropping down the Tuesday to get a proper wax job done (haven't booked yet).

Had a spin in it the other day and I'm looking forward to it now.

    Nooo...!!

    No wax on the white,

If you want to wax it then no harm but IF I were to get a new car done by someone else I would get it sealed instead with Gtechniq - C1+ Crystal Lacquer.

Just the job for a lazy git like you :P

    Quiz time folks...

Okay, so I have all ready for my full Licences. However! I won't be in town tomorrow, so does anyone else know if it's okay if my dad hands it all into the Tax (as he will be in town tomorrow) office or MUST I do it in person??

What is it you want to get done exactly???

Just to get my full driving licence. I have everything ready. So I'm wondering if I must go into the tax office to hand it all in e.g. form, fee, photographs signed on the back etc. etc. or if they will accept it off my father??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,920 ✭✭✭✭MetzgerMeister

They should accept it from your father as long as you have signed everything you need to sign.

That's topping dude. Cheers. I was unsure so I said I'd ask anyway. :)

    Thanks MM.

    i couldn't be bothered to look :)

me and fo have a few goldfish in a coldwater tank.

taking the plunge tomorrow on a new heated tank tomorrow and some spicy new fish but wondering can we put the goldfish in the warm water tank. not so much concerned about the mess they will make or if they will eat the other fish but moreso will the heat just kill them.

If you bring them up to the temperature slowly then they should be fine theoretically... I have never tried it. With the warm weather ATM they will be at a similarish temperature to the heated tank. They will be much bigger than the tropicals (probably) so they might eat them. I would keep them separate if it was me.

What size tank are you thinking of getting?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,917 ✭✭✭✭Toyotafanboi

that's exactly what i though, the goldfish live in the kitchen window so its probably quite warm in there most of the time anyway so the summertime might be ideal for a swap.

nothing massive, looking to go to roughly 50L but the bigger the better really. more crucially it has to be less than 580mm long and 400mm wide so that will be the decider really. my college brain is switched off so i havn't created a nominal height and worked out what volume tank that those sizes could potentially be.

the goldfish are old enough and still pretty small, probably no bigger than 40-45mm at a glance so i dont think they are big enough to eat others (the famous last words :P)

The car will be picked up in around 20 mins then the pacing games will begin, as I await diagnoses.

It was rough idling this morning.

Where is it going for diags?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,794 ✭✭✭coolisin

Here is it going for diags?

    Yeah it is, has too.

It's not comfortable to drive and has sudden bursts of power.
At least the engine management light is flashing so it's logging a fault I hope.

I fear coil packs, but the vanos may need replacing also.

How many are gone? Get them from Mick's Garage for about €40 each instead of giving BMW a shed load more!

Was just the one in the end thought it was more to fix the key situation/check over diagnostics was €128.
