disappointing to see such a poor crowd for a semi-final tool

Those who were there were fantastic imo. Might as well have been full

Didn't rate the ref to highly. Was a bit all over the shop. Let things flow at one point and then stopped some stuff. Missed a few off the ball holding too

I think Glasgow will be my fourth team to follow next year, they play some cracking rugby!

My second team (mainly because I live here ;) ), just a shame they were playing my first team tonight

Entertaining edge of the seat stuff and definitely one of the more enjoyable games I've watched in recent months. Well done Leinster and Jamie Heaslip in particular. The final is going to be a real humdinger!

+1 from me. That was the antithesis of stodgy 10-man rugby. Pity I only tuned in in the 2nd half, the joke's on me I guess.

Very lucky to scrape the win there. Glasgow were the better side, but they just didn't have the luck/composure needed to get the win. Disappointing that there was such a poor turnout, but you'd imagine that many supporters - rightly or wrongly - bought tickets for the final instead. Great to have an all Irish final.

Luck/composure/posession/territory. Glasgow were on top at the end, but barely got out of their own half until the 70th minute.

Disappointing turnout? Fixture was only finalised 8 days ago!

The chip on your shoulder is hilarious.

    Great game to watch.

Was at the edge of my seat.

Will reiterate what I said at half time. Leinster got the rub of the green, especially in terms of the refereeing decisions.

However, Glasgow will be ruing their missed chances. Matawalu was brilliant again. One of the players of the Rabo IMO. Consistantly exciting and effective.

Heaslip was Leinsters best player alright, great in the first half. Less effective in attack in the second but brilliant in defence.
Kearney, Healy, Locky all had great games. Isa just didn't have the bounce of the ball.

Cullen was really poor IMO. Must be done at this stage.

Leinster are the Man United of Rugby. Even when they have an off day, they pull out the win.

Well done and looking forward to the All Irish Final.

Same situation happened with Munster in 2011 against Ospreys.

Better team lost, dour rugby and ticket sales won.

Glasgow tend to have a poor turnout most of their games too. Not sure how many supporters they had there tonight

I think Glasgow were excellent but I disagree Leinster were "lucky". Off the top of my head there was the Hogg kicked that bounced off the post and over, the Sexton kick that bounced off the post and out, the ball bobbling into Glasgow hands from that Sexton kick, the bad bounce from Sexton's cross kick to Nacewa, the ball popping out into Glasgow hands in their own 22 about 10 mins from the end which allowed them to launch a counter-attack

I'm not moaning, we could easily have lost, but I don't think we were particularly fortunate in the sense a lot of stuff went against us too

I think the North and South terraces were even closed for that one. I was there so, which is all that matters :D.

Great game, I didn't see what happened to BOD in the first half though. Attendance was poor for a semi final unfortunately.

Also..I keep learning Irish and I'm not liking it!
How many more seasons of TG4 broadcasting ERC and PRO12?

Back spasm for BOD, thankfully that's all :)

I wouldn't call him poor but he is certainly average. Offers very little around the pitch but keeps the game tight and his experience, gamesmanship and leadership is without question. I would prefer another strong defence/ball-carrying option in the second row.

Great to see our spare front row being very effective coming off the bench.

Leinster were very rusty. Some odd performances, thought Boss was pretty dire and Sexton wasn't great. BOD and Darcy didn't get much going in midfield either. Heaslip and Locky were brilliant though. Toner and Cullen not so much

A bit more composure from Glasgow and they could have won it

Yeah, I'm not too sure about the Cullen/Toner partnership; it doesn't feel too balanced. Cullen's most definitely not poor - he does a massive amount of work, and somehow gets away with murder at the ruck. He must be a complete nuisance to play against.

WeegWarriors, in your last two posts you went from the ridiculous to the sublime.

BOD was only on for like 10 mins, D'Arcy/Ferg rarely creates much

That's good, D'arcy is picking up quite a lot of injuries lately though.

Our rugby is so sexy it should be 18 rated, Super Rugbyesque.

Out there looking like the Crusaders in their pomp, i was half expecting hear McCaw and Carter's names being called it was so beautiful.

Glasgow matches to be played at 10pm next season and on PPV £14.95 #rugbyporn.

Thought Leinster were a bit lucky there. Glasgow played most of the rugby and can count themselves unfortunate. Healy and McLoughlin had huge games and the scrum won the game.

Glasgow would be good at porn considering they can't finish!

    Badom dom tish!

In fairness that's not exactly true. I'm not sure what the exact territory stats were but Glasgow played as much rugby in the Leinster 22 as Leinster did in theirs

Beaten by those Irish conditions, we're used to pristine conditions and a bowling green of a pitch back home in Glas-vegas.

The weather was the equalizer as the Glasgow Globetrotters sensational rugby showcase was undone by those plucky Irish battlers.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,775 ✭✭✭✭bilston

Have to say that the best team lost tonight. Anyway Glasgow will be a force to be reckoned with next season, if they keep winning and keep playing that brand of rugby the sky is the limit for them as they have potentially the biggest fanbase in the CL (I think Glasgow is marginally bigger than Dublin...at least it is according to wiki).

Anyway an all Ireland Pro 12 final. Should be a good un'.

Please don't let Clancy near it.

Big step towards the double for Leinster. Glasgow have given Leinster plenty to think about over the last couple of seasons but in fairness Leinster have seen out the job in each big game despite being under the cosh for long stages. Great for the league to see how well Glasgow are performing and the brand of rugby they are playing. Hopefully this isn't their peak and they keep improving both on and off the field. The league needs more teams to carry the fight to the usual suspects. Maybe Treviso can be the team pushing for Top 4 next season. You'd hope they can make an impression in the Heineken next season which might start to see their team get the support they deserve.

How good is Niko Matawalu? What a scary talent.

I don't think i've ever seen a more exciting year out of a player, he's been absolutely sensational and he just signed a new 2 year deal this week to think this guy has only scratched the surface of what he can become he is still raw and his passing game can improve.

I can't wait for next season when guys like Matawalu, Strauss, Maitland have had another year to settle in.
