Like two weeks ago they have gone very expensive with their super six and SuperValu will most likely have better bargains for their 2for€1 and 2for€2.

After tweeting that they were very expensive two weeks ago they miraculously reduced the price from 59c to 49c.

All fruit n veg Super 6 49c instore today.

Find the drumsticks and thighs fairly poor quality to be honest.

Is that a recent development? Can't comment on the drumsticks but the ALDI thighs slow cooked have been a hit with me in the past...

How do you store the kiwis to ripen properly?
I often find them to be rock hard when they are offer.

Will be making bulk batches of Darina Allen's mushroom soup this time with mushrooms on special

I heard/read somewhere that bananas are great for ripening fruit, in a paper bag is better, because they release NOT nitrogen BUT ethylene a lot that ripens fruit. So throw a banana in with the kiwis into a paper bag?

I think it's ethylene. Should work anyway.

Make sure to pick softer fruit when buying in store.

Yeh I find they are better left for a week, on a bright, preferably sunny windowsill, but Id say the banana will work too if you need them sooner

As an aside, lidl's veg offers (the mushrooms at least) have been reduced by 10 cent at the till to compete with Aldi's mushrooms, might be good for cabbage too.

Corn is vacuum packed with a very long shelf life :)

    Great deal.

Some nice deals. The corn is crap though - avoid. Watery and tasteless. Frozen corn on the cob is much better, hell even corn from a can is much better (if you can't get or can't afford fresh corn on the cob)

I was in Tesco yesterday and there was someone ahead of me just buying a 7.5kg bag of roosters for €5.99
My inner BAer was exclaiming, go across the road to Aldi and you can buy 20.5kg for that.
    Should I have said something?

Never tried that corn tbh. I just thought it is worth a shot at 29c.

Will try and see, can't be that bad, can it?

    No.

It would be like me telling you that you shouldn't be in Tesco. And you shouldn't be :)
