Makes more sense to have them on the same thread so long as it's clear which supermarket the bargains are for.

I disagree. The argument has been had previously. This thread is intended for Aldi - hence its title.

Put them all in the one thread, its not that hard to keep track, they even get released at different times.

Like two weeks ago they have gone very expensive with their super six and SuperValu will most likely have better bargains for their 2for€1 and 2for€2.

After tweeting that they were very expensive two weeks ago they miraculously reduced the price from 59c to 49c.

+1, the reason why they should be seperate is for the same reason there is a seperate argos, tesco & supervalu threads for example. Makes more sense, lumping all together is a nonsense

    Agreed!

Unfortunately, some seem to be committed to attempting to fix things that are not broken.

I have an Aldi store on my doorstep. The nearest Lidl is 38km away. Consequently, I have little interest in Lidl bargains.

I can see no reason to conflate Aldi with Lidl, other than the fact that both are German.

Grouping the different concurrent bargains is convenient for those of us who can and do shop across Aldi, Lidl, Supervalu etc. - both to help choose the best alternatives available bi-weekly and, more importantly, avoid paying full whack for meat, fruit and veg that we might not otherwise be aware are on special elsewhere.

Because these changing offers run continuously and are for readily substitutable essentials, it does make sense to lump them together to maximise awareness (the 'separate stores - separate threads' analogy falls down a bit).

Has worked for years this way and the only time there is problem with it is when people keep requesting we lump everything into one thread ;)

Some good enough deals there. I regularly get that Angus mince, find it quite nice.

The Secret Chef chicken fillets sounds intriguing, might get some to try.

FYi if you've bought the current ALDI Secret Chef Duck Confit special, I'd recommend not using the red wine sauce that comes with it... the confit is already seasoned and I thought it was better without (lovely in fact).

There's a lot of discussion that happens here about the options. It would be too much to merge into a single thread. There could be a case for a new thread which is just for posting of the offers with no discussion so that boardies can in a single place get up to speed with all offers at a glance.
Any discussion should take place on the ALDI \ LIDL \ Dunnes \ Tesco threads.
