Holy crap why didnt I buy more of those €2 pork filet medallions with the pouch of cider and apple sauce? Defrosted one last night and had it this evening, best pork I have ever cooked, its like 5* roast pork and apple sauce straight out of a frying pan in 10 minutes, I only have one left now though...

    Pineapples still are €0.49

Carrots are in addition to that.

    Availability issues I guess.

    A super 7 then?

Store in Carlow Hanover had no pineapples and no price label or empty space where they might have been. They were off the menu completely.

Pretty disappointed with the spatchcock chicken deal - 6.75% off does not constitute much of a bargain; last time they were reduced to 3 euro

Has anyone noticed that Aldi shopping is costing considerable more than this time last year. Last year our average spend was 50 to 60 euro, this year our average is always 70 to 80. It was something that we both commented on recently. I would be interested to see if anyone has noticed the same or has past and present receipts to prove it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,283 ✭✭✭positron

Yes. I noticed the same last weekend. Aldi shopping isn't as cheap as it used to be, and it's moving closer to what my Tesco shopping totals used to be.

I have noticed it with both of the German 'discounters'. They are a lot more expensive now
