I wonder do Aldi realise that if they changed their super 6 every week instead of every 2 weeks, the likes of me (and probably many others) would start shopping there every week (instead of every 2 weeks)?

Surely changing it every week would not cost them much more?

Anyway, nice new super 6 and my €10 voucher will surely be used. Happy days with these supermarket wars :)

I disagree I think every 2 weeks is better.

    Peace and long life.

I would have thought that almost everyone buys their fruit and veg fresh every week.

  • Registered Users Posts: 64,800 ✭✭✭✭unkel

Exactly. And after buying my fresh fruit and veg in week 1 in Aldi, I wouldn't want to go back there in week 2 to boringly buy the same. I would go to Lidl (or any of the other supermarkets)

If Aldi changed every week, I'd shop there every week.

Why, if you don't mind me asking?

I'm the same. I tend to alternate between aldi/lidl vouchers this summer making the best of the fruit/veg offers in each place and getting some variety!

One of the best super 6's ever imo

They do it every year. Expect the same from Tesco & Dunnes

Same here. Whats great about it is many Aldis are very close to Lidls so getting the best of both isnt all that inconvenient, they're only a two minute walk apart where I live.

But still as Unkel says I'd love to see them switch it up every week with the fruit and veg. Still cant complain too much though, its them that is driving the price wars so happy days for all who have them locally. I'd hate to be dependent on Super Value, Dunnes or Tesco.

Sorry if this has been asked before but do you have to buy all six in the category to get that price?

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,772 ✭✭✭✭Whispered

No you just get what you want

    Happy days, thanks

Lads do these get bought fairly quickly or is there usually stock for the whole 2 weeks? Thanks.

I normally see them restocking them daily when the offers are on, rarely is anything out of stock.

    Great fruit/veg super6

I'll also get a chicken, mince, 2 x chops and salmon fillets.

Depends on the store to be honest. I've stopped going to the Aldi in Rathmines cause there's never ****ing any of the offers left if you're not there on the Thursday morning. I go to Lidl across the road and get their offers instead.

I was in Naas today and the veg was all there but there was nothing left of the six meat products besides some sort of peppered beef type thing.

Try juicing carrots / apples / clementines (or oranges) all together. Most people (kids) love it and it's a great way to get a triple dose of fruit / veg into them :)

    Any recommendations for juicers?

Rathmines should be getting more in once the students are back:D

I got one of those slow masticating(nearly came unstuck there) juicers, it is a bit slower but gives far more juice:D

Thats generally been my experience too with the Super 6, in general the fruit and veg offers are stocked pretty well, perhaps one or two sold out now and again but generally all 6 items are available.

The same can't be always said for the Super 6 meats though, often in my store you go in at 6.30pm and the Super 6 shelves look pretty empty. I've always wondered does each store get an identical supply of Super 6 meats each day and then when its gone. it's gone? Has anyone ever seen their local Aldi stocking up Super 6 meats after 8pm???

I think we have this one:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-HR1832-01-Collection-Compact/dp/B00LAYVPOU/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1439945119&sr=8-4&keywords=philips+juicer

At £45 including shipping it's a lot of value for money. I've done things you're not supposed to do like stick in whole limes and the yoke just takes the punishment without complaining.

Raw unpeeled ginger, raw unpeeled beetroot, raw unpeeled carrots, a few sticks of raw celery and a couple of apples. Throw all that into your Philips juicer*, drink it and I swear I feel an instant rush of energy / invigoration :)

*probably the same with other juicers like the nutri bullet (haven't tried those myself)

Was in it myself, between 6/7pm. (Beside Tesco) there was chicken fillets also, (loads of them)

Hardly surprising that the meat stock levels would run down on the eve of a brand new super six though.
