Nice filter - what plug in is that?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,909 ✭✭✭hitemfrank

It's a combination of filters in Photoshop Elements and Photoscape.

I used 'poster edges' and I think something else in Elements (I'm awful at remembering how I've edited pictures) and then played around with the 'bloom' and 'antique photo' filters in Photoscape.

I have other pictures where I have done a similar style and cant remember how I got the results I did, which is very annoying because I like doing them :)

If anyone is looking for free editing software, I would suggest you look at Photoscape. It's really easy to use and has some pretty good filters.

Stirling Margaritas in the Arctic - Zebra Wood Silvertip - Henkotsu Kamisori - Floid

Trying out a sample of Stirling Shave Soap today. The Margaritas in the Arctic is a fairly subtle lime scent with a hint of menthol to my nose. It seems like it will be a pretty good soap once I find the sweet spot, and the menthol kick from it is very nice indeed.

Revisiting an old friend. My, (sadly shedding..) Semogue 2000 Boar Shaving Brush.

Lathers like a champ with the likes of Monsavon, though you need to break in the brush for a bit, before hitting that sweet spot.

The Body shop, 'Verveine/Verbena' might be *cough* from the Women's shelf (or unisex, I'm not sure..), but I love it, reminds me of my French Grandparents. No sweeter than most fragrances marketed towards Men.

There's 'orange Floïd' in the Royall bottle.

The razor head comes from a Mühle R106.The handle is a Shave Craft Bulldog Stainless Steel Handle.

That heavy steel handle really pushes the razor along.

Ingram - Semogue 830 - Pal Adjustable - Cien Ice

    2hxpz87.jpg

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,026 ✭✭✭Amalgam

    How did that go?

I used Ingram's at one point, love the scent. But I found it could dry out on the face, or rather, the nature of the lather changed rather quickly. There was a bit of a balancing act to get the best from it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,909 ✭✭✭hitemfrank

I find the Ingram can be a bit tricky to get the right lather from it. The shave was excellent though. I had the Pal set on it's lowest setting and it's pretty mild but that did mean I could do about 4 passes and ended up with next to no irritation (there is some irritation in one tiny spot). All in all a great shave. I really like the feel of this injector.

I plan on trying out the other one tomorrow and possibly sending that on a bit of a pass around with some blades if there are people interested. Will need to check with a Mod about that though.
